They’re lazy, simple as that. Art design took a back seat in D2 and they’re unimaginative
-
1 ReplySunsetting is ok if they bring in new weapons. Re issuing them is so disrespectful to the player base and is flat out wrong
-
Aztec said it best. If they were giving us better gear, we would voluntarily sunset our own gear and pinnacles. As it is, they’re planning to give us Y1 and D1 reissued weapons with 0 change and they’re forcing us to use the crap. They’re attempting to extend the life of the game through unnecessary grind and recycled content.
-
10 RepliesSunset the pinnacles only, not everything!
-
It’s idiotic it failed already, not only do we have a meta focused on 600 autos we also have little to no reason for getting the loot we want. Pinnacle weapons are worthless as well. The game is more boring than ever due to this,we have nothing to chase because we know it will be useless and nobody uses different guns in the crucible because now there’s only a couple of good guns which haven’t gotten sunset. Everybody uses the same damn weapons and the game feels very unrewarding,it’s become bland and tasteless. Before you could look back on your gear and say “this is worth the masterwork” or “if this doesn’t work I can try that” but now it’s just “no reason to upgrade,I’ll just grab what’s good right now and be done.” That’s just boring as hell, everybody has similar play styles now and this whole sunsetting only makes it so we can’t enjoy what we’ve had, like you can take away my mountain top or revoker at least give me something that’s fun. Nobody wants to run around using the same new loot as everyone else every season. I love this game so much,it can be better but who likes sunsetting? I mean it ruins it for casuals too because it means that even when they get the gun they want they will only enjoy it for a bit,you don’t build the connection you had to your gear no more, everything is bound to be worthless and it sucks. It sucks for everyone. Sunsetting is short sighted and it’s a lazy “solution” to power creep which never even existed, like shit bungie brought new cool perks but they’re only present in these new weapons that will be sunset too, this whole dumb idea was only brought about to be lazy and recycle content instead of just letting players have it,it’s just a big ass middle finger to all the people who worked hard for their gear. If you worked or work for a pinnacle or a legendary I’m sorry because it will be worthless next season,no matter how much you love it.

4 RepliesIm fine with sunsetting but im against reissued weapons. If reissued weapons bumped up the power level of the weapons sitting in my vault id be fine with it. Or if reissued weapons had entirely new perk combos id be willing to tolerate it. But just re-releasing the exact same stuff with 0 alterations is just straight up lazy filler which deters me from buying future content.

Its also lame. And stupid. And annoying.

Edited by UnsungRonin: 8/2/2020 9:18:22 AMI agree 100% that’s why I quit playing destiny (I know some inbred will say bye) they strong arm they’re community because they don’t know what there doing and it’s like a slap in the face and for me takes any motivation to get any gear at all besides the armor in season passes cause it comes with 60+ stats and I don’t have to work to really hard to get it Vault of Glass is coming back ok great.... what’s the point if the gear will be useless in a year why try to get anything besides exotics this is a looter shooter how could you fail at half the game
-
1 ReplyAgreed. Bungie just 💩 on everyone’s grind time, for literally everything. Fools that condone re-grinding for the same gear are either stupid or they’ve never endured the grind.
-
Luke Smith is an ignoramus and the worst idea up there with destroying our weapons the first time...just another excuse to reissue stuff at a later time....
-
I’m good with sunsetting Re-issuing is whack though
-
1 ReplyAnd yet without a doubt some people still think it’s good for the game. Trying to fix a problem that doesn’t even exist by adding in a system that only causes more problems is not good for the game. I believe the worst part though is that I don’t think bungie has ever addressed any of the concerns and criticisms of the system.
-
10 RepliesSunsetting is only dumb because bungie is doing it very lazy and reissuing the same exact gear with a new icon. The best part is nothing is changing with this next expansion it’s going to be shadowkeep 2.0 but with less things to do. They are removing way more than will be replaced I’m gonna hard pass and re earning the same guns from forsaken multiple times over the next 3 expansions.
-
3 RepliesYou call it ignorant and unacceptable. I call it Bungie spitting in our faces
-
6 RepliesJust get over it already. Bungie they're doing if you don't like it vote with your wallet and stop playing and buying shit from bungie/destiny.
-
9 RepliesRe-issues have been accepted since TDB.
-
3 RepliesSome people really are obsessed with this sunsetting decision. Take a break, get a hobby and get over it.

16 RepliesEdited by Kouz_MC: 8/1/2020 6:15:04 AMAny player who supports this and buys into the expansion is an epitome of what’s wrong in this world. I am personally glad about it and think that it should serve right players who spent thousands of hours running after trash as a means to compensate for their inability to achieve anything irl. They got bated and now they’re going to get nailed.
-
And Bungo are greedy, lazy, lacking in talent, innovation and desire. And D2 is a steaming pile, and has been so since beta. And none of the above will ever change.
-
16 RepliesIt was unfortunately inevitable, can't just keep introducing better and better gear and keep some form of balance and challenge. There's already a myriad of very strong weapons that are focal points for builds reducing build variety and if not sunset then many new upcoming weapons will not be worth obtaining. End of the day we were going to see one of 2 options This sunsetting which while is frustrating and pulls us away from our comfort builds opens up a reason to play and grind for new gear season to season and it sounds our favorites will be cycled in and out of the game. The other option was for Bungie to nerf our beloved weapons heavily into the ground so it made other weapons a viable option. This sadly has been done on the past and was horrible and the over nerfed weapons became mediocre forever. I know which I would rather.

13 RepliesEdited by Acalson: 8/2/2020 6:29:57 PMI bet you're the same person who would say: "Why would i get any of these new guns when they're the same as my current? Bungies lazy" And then when Bungie makes something strong and unique: "Bungie can't balance anything, this weapon is so Broken, playtest your shit bungie"
-
This sounds so dramatic it's actually a bit amusing given the context. But yes armor sunsetting doesn't make sense nor does reissuing the same weapons at a different power level. Just a way to increase the chase.
-
3 Replies
Reminder
The Minute Bungie announced Sunsetting, I KNEW they would Re-issue or reskin the same weapons. Sunset my Gear, Sunset my Business.

Did anyome else read the title in Michael Jackson voice from South park?

5 RepliesEspecially for those hard earned Pinnacle guns.

12 RepliesNot even gonna bother explaining this for the 587,028th time. Just look up the GDC on youtube or something
