Remove Shader Inventory and Make Shaders Appliable and Previewable From Collections.

As per title, I would like the removal of the shader inventory. They cost so little anyways that the cost of getting more is more of a nuisance than an actual cost. Plus, if my shader inventory is full (I'm not a hoarder, there are just a lot of shaders that I like to preview on new stuff I get) I gotta clear it out to pull more shaders to see what they look like on my ship (for example). We should be able to preview every shader in the game through the appearance tab of the item we are previewing stuff on. But as usual, just like all related posts, this will get completely ignored. Because to hell with whatever is good for us! EDIT: I have a previous post I made a while back that tackles every possible way to improve the shader system. No, I'm not taking advantage of the fact this post blew up... ok maybe I am. But none the less here it is:
1. Let us "Rotate" the Shaders so that certain colors of the Shader land in different areas. Often enough there is a shader that looks good but doesn't work because certain colors from it land in the wrong areas. If I could rotate the Shader to make a certain color on it land on a certain part of said thing I'm coloring that'd be great. 2. Wear and Tear Slider. Sometimes when I'm coloring something (like a ship) a lot of shaders have a scratched up texture that ruins the look. If we had an option to adjust the wear and tear to make our stuff look freshly painted or old and beat up that'd be cool. Might be hard to implement since shaders aren't just colors, they are textures as well. 3. Let Us Apply and Preview Shaders Straight from Collections - Remove Consumables. Having to pull from collections if I need more shaders or if I need to see what a shader looks like seems pretty silly to me. They cost next to nothing anyways and the system just acts as an inconvenience at this point. Shaders should just get rewarded once and then never rewarded again. 4. Un-tintable Colors NEED TO STOP. Don't know what I'm talking about? Look at the Iron Fellowship Warlock Robes from this Season. Bright Orange metallics on the dangly parts that aren't affected by shaders. A lot of Armor has some kind of un-tintable color somewhere on the set. The Iron Will set has the Red Ink on the class items that is un-colorable but at least that is isolated to it's own pattern and texture on the armor unlike others where parts of the same texture/color are tint-able while the other part isn't 5.Very Important - Give us a Completely BLACK Shader. Not Grey, Not dark dark brown. Just straight Black with no hidden colors in the Shader that ruin it. 6. Hidden Colors Maybe Shouldn't Be a Thing. Some shaders have a 5th color in them. The biggest problem is that sometimes that color is placed before all 4 of the Shader's Colors are Applied. And on top of that it's usually a bright ugly color that is out of place. 7. Let Us Preview Shaders on Un-owned Ornaments. You can't preview Shaders on Ornaments unless you own the ornament and have it applied to the item the ornament goes with. Because of this you can't see what your favorite Shader will look like on the new armor ornaments from Eververse. 8. Let us combine Shaders to make our own personalized Shaders. I don't need to add anything here. I hope I nailed every possible way to make the Shader system better. If I missed anything please let me know. I want to make this list as complete as humanly possible. We need to perfect the shader system… theoretically. Because you don’t actually think Bungie is going to listen do you? To hell with what’s good for the players!
• This could actually be super cool, but if they did it they would have to increase the amount of shaders able to be viewed in the little drop down thing. Maybe make it 8 down by 12 across, instead of the 2 down and like 8 across it is now.

  • And speed up loading of the ui while you're at it bungie...all this cool stuff is for naught if it takes an eternity to load EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. YOU. OPEN. IT. See what I mean? Was that a pain to read? Now you know how WE feel.

While they're at it, removed the shop from the directory and put the postmaster there. You know, using resources for something actually useful for the game instead of wasting resources on things that are not needed.

    • Shaders, banks, leveling, blues all need rework, and armor needs to be a 3.0 let us choose any guns we want for any armor pieces.

        • You know what would be nice too? Having a damn feature where, when previewing a skin, you can hit APPLY ALL to all your armor at once. Shit already takes 5 minutes to add to each piece.

          • Not shaderable colors is good on some weapons and armor, for example on some exotics. Also, shaders should not allow you to choose which is the top, which is left, which is right, etc. However, I believe destiny 2’s shader system was, on release, better than it is now, because of how many shaders are in the game, it’s unmanageable. Shaders shouldn’t have a price to pull from collections, and the inventory should be much larger. I don’t see a problem with keeping an inventory of your go to shaders for gear, however it gets cluttered by never gonna be used blues and greens

            • nope it makes more sense to unlock the shader and then require one per item and if you don't have any more then pay glimmer for them. What you think you are entitled to a color because you unlocked it? Get lost nerd.

            • This was their attempt at doing what EA and others did with shader systems. They wanted you to pay every single time with real money. They were testing to see how far they could push it. The current implementation is garbage.

            • I have always hated how the shader system has worked in d2 they just end up clogging up inventory space. It should just be a one and done drop.

            • Also, have an "Apply to All" button so we can assign the shader to everything instead of one at a time. Seems like a no brainer.

              • Shader system in this game is horrible. It needs to be like in D1 where once you get the shader you have access to it at all times and can use it an infinite amount of times without having to collect more of them or buy more of them from collections. Seriously whoever thought of that at Bungie should have to spend a week at the hospital hooked up to a ventilator cuz they got the China virus.

                • I don't understand why the Shader system doesn't work like weapons mods. Unlock it once, it's added to collections and then slot it directly from gear menu as many times as you like for currency. This eliminates any need to manage a Shader inventory and eliminates the need to pull from collections since you are slotting the Shader like a weapons mod. Anyone worried about missing out on Legendary Shards and Glimmer, Bungie should rework the system so that any time a duplicate Shader is earned, you should be awarded the equivalent currency required to slot it on your gear.

Too many shaders, not enough shader slots in inventory to match the vast library Too many shaders, not enough precious resources to waste on reaquiring them Too many shaders, manually time consumingly needing to be applied 5 times to armour and 2-3 for weapons and 1 for ghost annnnnd ship and sparrow, ugh I love the shaders but the whole system isn’t working, shocker there eh..... it should be like the D1 system, easy and free to use/acquire.

And how do you imagine would the system of applying shaders on armor/guns would work then? The shader inventory, I assume, is there to load a set ammount of the shaders you put in there, into the inventory system. Basically it is a technical requirement to even allow applying shaders in the first place. Without it the game would obviously try to load ALL the shaders (+150 unique shaders, if not more) from the collection tab into the inventory sub menu for gear/guns. The loading times would be abysmal amd performance would suffer...and any more loading is certainly not what the game needs now, especially in the inventory screen. Without a complete rework or removing the function of applying shaders via the sub menu, I can't think of how to "solve" that problem.

                    • I have a feeling this is to due with a UI issue somehow. Like not being able to preview them on energy/power weapon slots from the shader collections screen. Something stupid like that.
