I'm not against buffing a specific weapon on occasion, but this just jumped out at me as a bit odd to focus on, even briefly. That's still a shitload of kills out of all weapons to be attributed to Ace of Spades.

Not in comparison to any hand other hand cannon or any auto. That 3% number is accounting for hand cannon metas. Even in hand cannon metas, it has never had more than 3% of kills on console. That's the point. Even when hand cannons were the best, Ace wasn't. To put that in perspective, Gnawing Hunger has 15% of all kills right now during an auto meta. Ace has less than 1%.
