Is it really though?
Subclasses are boring and arent customizable (d1 had customizable skill trees for each subclass).
D2 weapons perks are all basically the same since d1 with the exception of things like killing wind, other than that all the perks in game are literally d1 perks just either nerfed or boosted up.
A very large majority of all weapon and armor models are just d1 models.
In 6 years of a franchise weve only gotten 1 real new enemy type (scorn) and no taken dont count (taken are literally in lore the same exact enemys just with a little added space magic).
And we are losing 50% of the game (3 raids, 4 planets and all those planets strikes going away), this didnt hapoen in d1.
Sure the visuals are nice but the game is still running on an engine from 2008 with all tje same problems it had in d1, theu continue to make the same mistakes over and over again and they show no signs of doing anything different.
I would love to be able to sit here and 100% agree with you, i would love to be able to say that the franchise ive cared about since d1 beta cares about me.
But its just not true.
I think if any other game did the things destiny is doing no one would consider it a great game.
If cod or the division or borderlands were doing any of the things d2 is doing no one would defend those games.
I wouldnt defend those games.
And so i cant defend destiny and say its an upgrade. At best its a side grade, and at worst its been burning holes in the ground with every mistake they repeat.
1 thing i will give it is that armor and the mod system on armor is better.
But thats it.
