I have two bite of the fox rolls.
One, is masterworked, sitting in my vault. The ultimate god roll.
This one has a forsaken symbol, and is being sunsetted in season 12.
The other one is the absolute worst roll, which i have gotten twice.
This one has an arrival symbol, and is being sunsetted in season 15.
Yikes.
EDIT: Field prep threat detector drop mag THREE TIMES IN A ROW

23 RepliesLots of opinions in this thread, so here we go. Yes it’s the same gun. But you aren’t being forced to grind for a new one, your old god roll is still viable and useable, and having one low light level weapon won’t affect your overall light level. The guns are being reissued so people have a chance to grind for them when they might not of in the past.

6 RepliesThis actually makes me happy. Sunset all those broken special weapons (noobtubes) Especially in pvp Or make a pvp mode that’s more like halo. Special weapons spawn in.. saying special weapons are power weapons in halo (low skill level/easy kills) Imagine a 5v5 halo style pvp mode. It would be better than anything pvp related now, it would also be more fair. Why not have a sniper mode? We have all these stupid ass games in rotator that nobody touches...

2 RepliesNew light player here giving my impressions after watching all this sunsetting drama play out with zero experience playing this type of game historically. I’ve only really played WoW, GW2 and Counter Strike online. Bungie trying to move the gear and weapon system towards a WoW seasonal model with the way this game was originally developed was also going to be a massive headache for devs and gamers. The current armour infusion setup + RNG doesn’t work with the WoW model and they know this which is why they have added umbra pick a stat. They probably don’t have the resources/time to get transmog in to at least make this more rewarding. They have to get control over the time it takes players to get the right stats, grind the mats and max infuse to find the sweet spot where the value vs time of use is balanced. I cannot figure out the weapons regrind strategy it makes no sense maybe its just a simple resource issue again as it would be too time consuming because of the way the weapon seasonal taxonomy is setup, maybe it was just easier to start again as this future proofs the new system as without this quick fix there wouldn’t be enough weapons in time for the expansion? I disagree that they don’t listen to player feedback it’s just that in reality there are a number of other factors, constraints and compromises.

F in the chat. I hope that they either remove sunsetting, or make up for the loss of everyone's gear with BRAND NEW weapons. I'm done with reissued weapons. Though I would rather them remove it altogether.

7 RepliesYou know what hurts? Facing people in trials with lifetime K/D 0.9 and they have a 6.0 this week hitting all crits and pre firing every corner you're about to turn.... That hurts.

78 RepliesHow many times did you use the bite of the fox in your vault? Once? And if you really love bite of the fox that much, just grab another one from IB. I’m getting god rolls without even trying. Your problem here is simply: “I want to always use my old guns and I don’t like it when my old gun gets replaced!” I don’t even see how you have a problem with this.
-
I have yet to see an explanation from Bungie for sunsetting that makes me think “ok, yeah, I get that”. Every reason I’ve seen can be handled in some other better way.

23 RepliesI got a feeling they are going to reverse their decision. There are a lot of pissed off players

Bungie protection league will address this.

5 RepliesMy opinion: Can the gun still drop?? Yes? Then that weapon is NOT being sunset, and ALL power levels should consider that. Sunsetting should apply across specific weapons and armour, it should not apply to our pre-existing gear only. Having said all that; I don't think sunsetting should even be a consideration - it makes no sense to remove old gear to make room for gear that is even older (being D1 gear and year 1 D2 gear)?? We'll be recollecting our 'new' Iron Trauge armour this time next season.

1 ReplyI am gonna very angry, if I find out that I have to farm another militia's birthright, and NF loot for lake of shadow hasn't changed, and its just another militia's birthright but with a higher light level. Because I spend months trying to get the right roll and masterwork for it. They could have easily just increase the level for it, and that show in it self they do not respect the player time, nor grind.

8 RepliesIf friends will ask me: "Describe the game called Destiny?" Me: "It feels like Tom Cruise is behind the steering wheel when they made this game. The enemies feels like you're fighting a Mimic horde and we've killed an Alpha Mimic 6 years ago. Now we are resetting the week over and over trying to do the same stuff over and over while expecting a different result. Game could have been called - "Destiny at the Edge of Tomorrow!" Friends: "So why do they call it Destiny? . . ." Me: "I don't know . . . . . . because it doesn't have one?"
-
Yeah I grind an insane amount of time for my rolls just for bungie to sunset, I've cut my time on Destiny down to just a few hours a week, I've been grinding other games now. Destiny feels too much like a job now and I don't get paid. The Rng in Destiny since D1 is terrible, and now for the second time Bungie is killing our weapons, guess this one is PC's fault since the last time Bungie said it was Sony's fault.

80 RepliesAnd what is wrong with that. You shouldn’t be able to use the same weapon forever. And I’m assuming this is a pvp roll? If so you don’t play that much trials so you can still use your good one in all non light pvp. So does it really effect you that much. (I am in favour of sunsetting)
-
I think the worst thing is that EVERYTHING has a expiration date now. If they said “Ok, these weapons will be sunset so grind for the rest and you’ll be ok”, I could deal with it. But now I’m thinking there’s really no incentive to get really good stuff because it is hard to obtain, therefore takes a lot of time to obtain, and it takes ages to upgrade it. And by the time I’m done, I’m gonna have to wave it goodbye again.

1 ReplyTry this: - Wait for the next season. - Once the god roll is sunsetted, level up the worst roll to max level. - Try infusing the one with the worst roll in the god roll, perhaps since you can infuse the same weapon with no extra cost they will forget to check if a weapon is sunsetted. I might be thinking out loud, but that might work. As a developer, I might forget to check this and would probably fall as a regression bug, so why not giving it a shot? lol.

7 RepliesNo offense, but not all content needs to have a prismatic machine to narrow down your god roll chances. Getting high stat rolled armor is -blam!-ing silly easy right now. Not sure what the hell is gonna keep me playing if I can just select the shit I want from a list.
