First day of iron banner on the new matchmaking and I’ve seen a bunch of posts of people saying CBMM has ruined iron banner, that every match is full of sweats. Is everyone forgetting the past SIX YEARS in which people have come to the forums every single month without fail to complain about sweats, stacked teams and so on? Even though that was all while the playlist was SBMM?
Iron banner, being an endgame PvP activity, has always been sweaty. It has always had meta users. It has always had stacked teams. The matchmaking system will not change this, it is just the nature of the playlist.
If you are blaming the sweatiness of iron banner on the new matchmaking I implore you to think back to literally 2 months ago in the last iron banner with SBMM. Did you think that was sweaty? Match any six stacks? Meta users? exactly.

4 RepliesYeah you are dumb. I took screenshots of every game the last couple of iron banners and I never finished below a 1.0 . I’d probably avg 3.0. This iron banner I finished last every game and could barely break.50 kd. And before some dumb ass says “ get good” I will say the same people loving this iron banner are the people who usually get matched up with people that are better than them and kick their ass so they are extremely happy to beat the shit out of us casual players. Pvp was basically the last fun thing to do in destiny and now it’s -blam!-ing garbage. My stats speak for themselves I’ve been around since day 1 and it really sucks bungie doesn’t give a shit anymore unless it for streamers

2 RepliesWe all know that's not the case, we even had a conversation on this topic.
-
These children will never be satisfied no matter what happens. I just like watching them cry on the forums all day.
-
1 ReplyShouldn’t something that is endgame have sbmm?
-
2 RepliesRandom bot: "OMG iron banner is so sweaty with all the stacked teams REEEEEEEEEEEEE" *Bungie turns of SBMM* Same random bot: "OMG iron banner is ruined because of them turning off SBMM and its still sweaty and facing stacked teams REEEEEEEEEEEE"
-
Yes they are. But let me share a little secret " iron banner has always been trash it was trash with or without sbmm" people are just looking for reasons to complain

I haven’t played yet today but IB has always been my favorite crucible game mode and I play solo. In past seasons I had no problems winning games against stacked teams because everyone was roughly the same skill level. They should have added a freelance queue for IB a long time ago and they never should have removed SBMM without adding one.
-
10 RepliesYeah, it’s all the casual morons that don’t like PvP anyway. I played IB and got my quest done in like an hour. It wasn’t bad at all. It’s the same players calling for a nerf on 600rpm autos so they can go back to getting easy kills with hand canons because there won’t be anything to stop them. I really hope Bungie doesn’t listen to these players. They should just go back to PvE.
-
they could easily fix the mercy problem by just removing the ’hunt’ mechanic; 20+ seconds of triple points just causes a landslide and an easy mercy; be that for or against you
-
All they want is their echo chamber of skill back. Like you said, it doesn’t matter what matching is in play, they will complain regardless. Doesn’t matter a good a stack is, a stacked team will win 8/10 times.

1 ReplyIt definitely feels worse than the last couple IBs I participated in. Like, my first few matches were getting kicked around join in progress mercies, to six stacks against solos, one match had six bubbles(lol). It kind of leveled out after those initial like 5 games. It was just more annoying that I couldn't get any progress than anything Later I started playing with some friends and had a way better time. But I'd say at least a third of the matches I played last night felt completely lopsided one way or another, and again that doesn't feel like the last few IBs from my own memory
-
Iron banner sweaty??? Gtfo. These kids make me laugh. 😂
-
People will always complain.
-
My problem isn't facing "six stacks of sweats" in IB. It's the fact that so six stacks seem to always comprise of players from multiple countries making for bad connections even with this "connection based matchmaking" system.
-
5 RepliesUnder SBMM, hardcore players see more sweats, and so complaints about sweats come from them. Under CBMM, casual players see more sweats, and so complaints about sweats come from them. It's nothing about 'the nature of the playlist', it's that there are always going to be two different groups with two different experiences...
-
nope. IB has always been bad. No arguement there. It did certainly not get better with hopelessly unbalancing of the teams on top of that though. On the upside I no longer curse playing with people that don’t even try to do the objectives or play coordinated, now I just see the mercy coming so I’ll leave and go to next lobby. Its a farse so its almost comical rather than frustrating. So I guess that is a ”positive” at least.

When there’s a lot of players in one activity it fetches any problems out a lot quicker and easier.
-
4 Replies*sees all the CBMM vs SBMM stuff on forums* Me: Continues to play PvP like normal while not really giving a shit about what type of match making it is 😂 Sometimes I have good games, sometimes I have bad games... what are yah gonna do 🤷🏼♂️
-
It’s more the power level than anything. IB was the same when it was SBMM. People are so quick to blame something other than themselves.
-
1 ReplyIB is sweaty just like it should be. Go hard or go home. Why would anyone who has played IB before expect anything less.
-
3 RepliesI’m a terrible crucible player but still play because it’s fun and I want the new weapons. I have a .88KD I believe in destiny tracker. I might be worse lol. I’m 50 + yo and I did the whole grind in one evening. Please don’t judge my KDA as I tried my best. If you don’t beleive me look at my warlock. I have the weapons 👍🤙. If and old man can do it so can you.👍
-
I don't see anyone complaining about sweats. I see people complaining about mercies. PvP is a sauna. You're always going to have people sweating. In Iron Banner though where even a modest mismatch can lead to a runaway game the game not even attempting to balance teams becomes a big problem.

Edited by Infamous067: 7/2/2020 4:03:07 AMI don’t see why people care so much about their K.D. It seems to me that the mid tiers and low tier skill players care more about their stats than simply playing the game. You don’t see top players going around bragging a out their K.D’s unless someone triggered them lol. This iron banner has been really chill, I get in a game, I get my 30+ kills, I get my enhanced mods and call it a day. Cbmm is the best thing to happen to destiny, no longer do I have to face someone from the other side of the world and my games have almost no lag. To those of you that say you are facing sweats every game let me tell you something, you guys are running around with your shotguns as your primary and I notice you guys are not even playing the objective and trying to be the hero by going into a 1v6. There is a reason these types of players are the bottom of the list on every game, these guys are straight up easy ultimate feeders, I thank the low skill players, you guys rushing at me with shotguns 24/7 really builds my ult faster than my grenades. Im not trying to be a dick but I say it how it is, maybe getting angry at me will make some of you actually play the objective and use your primary weapon for a change

Was there ever any real skill in Destiny? I would say no for several reasons, the first being SBMM doesn't work in every game because of the many types lf it. K/D and KA/D. Win/loss ratio. ELO. Rank. Performance in previous X matches. There are more that I can't remember off the top of my head, I've made a post talking about this before and no one had anything to say about it either because of the TLDR bs or because they couldn't argue against it. So let's talk about what I do remember: K/D and KA/D ratio. Not a good way to measure skill because the how it was achieved isn't calculated, doesn't help some games allow this to be built up in private matches. Who's better? The guy who goes 50-0 doing nothing but spawn killing and ganking with OHK weapons and abilities, or the other guy who can do just as good when the enemy has a fair chance to defend themselves or run away? How about the guy who gets 25 kills and 25 assists with no deaths? Win/loss ratio. I can guarantee you that statistically speaking, stacked teams have a higher ratio than entire teams of solos. ELO. Is it individual player ELO, or is it team ELO? Player ELO is better because it prevents people with an ELO of 1000 going up against people who're 3X higher. Even teams doesn't always mean even teams. If everyone in the match is 3X higher, they're basically just feeding the enemy. Performance in the last X matches. I should've been playing against PVP gods on my grind to Not Forgotten with my 23 winstreak. Rank. I reached Legend in comp during I think the first week of SK in the solo playlist on that winstreak. Either that was easier than it should've been, or I am a god at the game. I'm leaning more towards the former. I could go on, but I'm just going to end it here.

Sweaty is not the issue. The issue is that a special PVP event should not be 75% blowouts / mercy endings. The fact that the vast majority of games are ending completely lopsided is a glaring indication that the system that was designed is not working. I can't imagine this is what Bungie was hoping for. CBMM, SBMM, Sweaty, casual it does not matter if the end result is unbalanced. These games should be challenging for all.
