Removing the Random Powerful focused Umbral Engrams has essentially told the player base that "The casual base now needs to grind twice as hard as the hardcore player base because the causal player missed out on this error we shipped. Please bend over once again casual players. Whoops."
Please test your damn game before shipping. How does something like this even get through?? "Making video games is hard" is not and will never be an excuse when it is your literal profession. If other professionals are being held to basic standards then you will be too.
I was actually enjoying the lack of an obscene amount of time needed to level my character..........I guess I'll run the dungeon next seaso.....oh wait that's right you are taking it out of the game next season........I guess I won't be able to run the dungeon since it'll take me all season to get the level needed. And might as well forget about decently stat rolled armor. Which is a joke in and of itself btw.
Tangent:
Why are stats even rng based anyway?!?! I don't get it honestly. Why not give a max amount of stats allowed per armor piece and let the player slot those stats as they see fit??? Master worked items = more stats to slot as you see fit??? Why must I play the worn out dry content 8000 times for what I am looking for? Why must this game be a grind fest?? Why not add new content to keep me in game instead of making me go fish for what i want through dusty content that I have quintessentially played since D1 day 1.
Tangent 2 Edit:
Wasting a prime engram to get another classes armor is extremely infuriating. I can't infuse it and I can't use it....And I only have one character....you have seriously got to be kidding me....Way to ship another bug ridden season.......Your play testing is exactly like your anti-cheat software....They don't exist.
Despite the insane amount of bugs you continue to ship your player base, the game is heading in the right direction in my opinion. Once again you have shined bright lights in my eyes and filled my head with promises of tomorrow that I have yet to see manifest. Yes I'm hooked......but please....stop letting me down in the winter spring and summer....stop shipping game play altering bugs. This one was too large to stay quiet on. And yes I'm hurt because you can bet your ass I was going to exploit it like everyone else. I only got a day with it and went up 10 light levels........I should have been dungeon ready in a week and now I'll be lucky to play it at all. Thanks for nothing.
From A tired fan who can't seem to stop playing your game.

2 RepliesEdited by Bella x Nutella: 6/17/2020 6:14:54 PMI much prefer level grinding, not light level grinding. They should just add 25-50 levels a season. And every time you hit the next level, either all gear becomes that level (which I would prefer) or you get a few drops each level tailored to the next piece of gear you need. For example, all helmets and primaries start dropping at the level you’re at. Next level, all gauntlets and energy weapons drop at the level you’re at and so on as it rotates depending on the next few items you need. And when those pieces of gear are higher level, all world and game mode drops will also drop at your level - except in end game activities where it can drop higher. Gotta give end game content the boost it used to have like in D1. But meanwhile the rest of the players who can’t do end game will eventually get there. I am sure Bungie would find a way to screw with players this way also. But I would much prefer that every level you hit, all your gear levels with you. That’s the way it should be. I have always hated the idea of light level. I only didn’t mind it when it was small jumps. Forever 29 sucked but it was nowhere near as bad as this. It also was fine because it didn’t lock anyone out of content. You could run your friends through raids and nightfalls no problem. And yes I’m aware that there are those will be able to grind that out insanely fast but forget those people .. that’s their choice to play this game as first priority. Look at how incredibly unfair it is for the people who did not AFK forges and not receive the powerful engrams, which has made others 150 plus LL. And then now there are those stuck at 1012 cause they did not AFK. I could not care less if people AFK, have at it. But as usual Bungie punishes those that were unable to exploit or simply chose not to, as they quickly took away the ability to AFK and nerfed the high engram drops. I have not played in three months and decided to play this last season for the dungeon since I already paid for the pass and this would be my last few weeks or so playing this game since they have showed me no reason to buy anything from them again. But I am not going to take 3 months or more playing the same activities that have been there for years, in order to level up for the dungeon to now maybe never be able to do it when it disappears. Even in Assassins Creed Odyssey when you level up you can go to the Blacksmith to level up your gear. Sure it takes some in game coin and materials, but those are easy to obtain. You also could purchase materials with real money and if that’s how people want to do it, to each their own. But Bungie would make it as difficult as possible to be able to mirror this idea and would probably almost ensure you had to pay real game money to do this. TLDR: light leveling is stupid and should only be regular leveling through game play. (Solely my own opinion and you’re free to have your own as well)

12 RepliesList of wrong moves (and I'm only mentioning the latest ones, cause I'm being nice, lol): Removing random powerful Umbral Engram (yeah, let's grind some more!) Stopping low light level Forge farming (wasn't hurting anyone) Sunsetting (don't even want to comment on that one...) Making us regrind exact same copies of the guns we already had, over and over and over again. Replacing SBMM with CBMM in Quickplay Crucible and Iron Banner (now Crucible sucks, too) Removing content with the next expansion (i.e. Menagerie, Leviathan, several planets). As a matter of fact, I would be paying money to actually have content taken away from the game... That's fantastic! Adding recycled content to next release such as Cosmodrome and VOG (I can go play D1 if I wanted to replay those, and I wouldn't need to pay 'again' for it) The list could go on...

10 RepliesYou have 3 months. You can get to 1040 in one of those months. You’d have to literally play for only one hour a week to not hit 1040 by the end of the season.

2 RepliesEdited by Pr0t0Zer0: 6/19/2020 6:34:16 AMJust stop chasing light levels.

Bungie doesn't care about us at all bud. Just keep your money come Beyond Light.

Agree. Bungie makes so many stupid decisions.

Why not give a max amount of stats allowed per armor piece and let the player slot those stats as they see fit???
This. So much this. The amount of times i get an amazing base stat but a god awful spread.

Thet did?

Yeah it was a bad move. I keep getting pin drops at same lvl from vendors and game modes, even though everything is just 1 lvl apart.

3 RepliesWow. I honestly thought this was a cool new leveling tool that helped with the grind, and I had just started doing it. Instead of the years old and boring crucible / strikes / gambit / etc... now here is an exciting way to level up faster. Last season I really wanted to level up to 1025 so I could play grand master nightfalls, but because of work and family commitments I simply did not have the time. I thought maybe this season I could get there. But no. Smh...

7 RepliesThink we're all tired of the endless power grind, the fact that 63% of activity completions on Saturday were failed forge attempts shows it. I'd rather they just changed it so all focused umbral engrams had a chance to drop higher power gear. Now i just don't see the need to focus any at the moment

13 Replies10 years from now, friends will ask me: "Describe the game called Destiny?" Me: "It's a game about Bounties?. . . . . . That's all I can remember."

Yeah we know it was, but that's what they do. Dangle the carrot then pull it away.

Jet Set WillyIt’s all going concording to plan 😂🤣 - old
Yeah, but they fixed the stupid 750 gear drops in Gambit so it kinda evens out. Oh wait. Of course they didn’t. They just left that as it was and only fixed the thing that benefited us. -
Being able to have a chance of getting powerful gear from doing anything rather than the guaranteed ones from weekly rituals was a nice change of pace. I do hope they consider it for the future.

3 RepliesDon't listen to anyone who tries to trash you. You have a right to be annoyed and frustrated. I'm getting fed up with the power level grind. I just want to jump in and enjoy new content without having to grind for my entertainment.

6 RepliesThe community was already tired of grinding. Found an exploit to sidestep the hamster wheel. Bungie proceeds to fix the exploit that was doing zero harm then, nerfed the power of umbrals. The correct thing to do is just let it go. Realize your player base is not happy and not do things to actively antagonize them.

Games not headed in the right direction. Progression is terrible and doesn't seem to be getting better, they are working on a transmogrification system that involves silver in my gd store, there are a crazy amount of performance issues on console even with a SSD, PVP is....my God, they keep adding new shit without fixing core activities that really needs attention, sunsetting is looking worse and worse the more I play, there are no real vendors/factions in game, MY STORE IS MORE DECKED OUT THAN THE GAME, and the game is now f2p (They're about to monetize the f*** out of it now.... Understatement).

Yea I agree. When I do my pinnacle drops they are not giving me powerful ones. My friend has two characters with gear between 1055 to 1058. While my character's gear is barely reaching over 1050. I wish to get to level 1068 + artifact of level 13 but it isn't going to happen anytime soon. There are some players who reached HIGHER levels before week one reset. Such a shame that there isn't a better power leveling like it was back in Destiny 1. I want better ways to get pinnacle gear and have gear around 1055. I did the three powerful engrams on my Titan and got no high powerful gear. Also the 3 power engrams that are granted each week should be +5 or +7 for each character. I don't like seeing my friends at time with higher gear while being stuck below them. You can fix the umbral glitch with a quick response, however with error codes like anteater/beaver still roam the game. Such a shame that power leveling was taken out but the error codes are here to stay. Fix this before next season to make power level fair.

4 RepliesI’m already at 150 with avg of 4 hrs a day, no afk forge. I don’t think the afk forge thing was right, but it honestly barely affects anyone. Everyone can hit soft cap in less than 3 weeks.
-
1 ReplyI was actually having fun, grinding different activities bc Umbral Engram drop everywhere. Now we’re back to bounty simulator.

1 ReplyYup, in your corner with a side order of: WHY THE HELL IS THE STORY LINE QUEST BUGGED ON MY MAIN DAMN CHARACTER. Not only have Bungie nerfed loot but they're also flat out stopping progression on many main characters because of a bug, AGAIN. A bug which they have to investigate and patch on a Thursday or next week on a Thursday because that's when they patch things and we can't do it any earlier... Unlike the afk farming which they patched ASAP because players had found a way to get their arbitrary level high enough to do damage to enemies in the season's Public Events and Dungeon. Seriously; What the hell are you guys (Bungie) smoking?
-
Imagine that people can just play what they want and "power" up, that would make this stupid arbitrair "power" grind a little less obnoxious.
