I've spent entire seasons, never having reached full power level. The grind is too restrictive. What if I dont want to play crucible, or cant get into a raid party?

Yeah I don't have time to grind for 2.5 months just to get a half of a month to finally start grinding the high level content. Bungie only does this because they're giving us almost zero new content to enjoy. Almost nothing is enjoyable in destiny anymore. It's all a long chore list involving doing 3 public events for eris , go do the alters of sorrow, go do a nightmare hunt , then do 2 more nightmare hunts . guess what now you've unlocked nightmare hunts to grind out. Oh and here's a dungeon. Seriously the shadowkeep "campaign" is pathetic . I can't even force myself to finish it a third time on my hunter because of how soul crushingly boring and Grindy it is.

Anything that benefits the player gets patched right away....see they have time to fix things they just choose not to.

Dude i was doing heroic contact day 1 with little problem.... I go to io and usually have 5-7 done in a row.... Im 1055 with my highest gear in my hunter and season rank 49..... You all and your afk grinding and people doing it legit are still higher.... Sad.

You have a point there. But I kind of like beeing a bit underlevelled at first. The rewarding feeling of succes that only comes with the possibillity of failure. Maybe a prestige version or so would be a solution. The normal version allowing for quick acces and the harder one offering a challenge.

True! This game is only for new light and Junkies that don’t realise that they are grinding the same things, that they did in Destiny 2 year 1.

That's how games like this work. If you don't like it quit playing. The seasons are meant to extend the endgame grind. Many players were beating the heroic event day one and many of us had 1050 characters days ago without AFK grinding. Those who depended on it are the same who will be complaining about nothing to do.

100% agreed. I just want to play the dungeon, but you can't. Bungie keeps making the same mistakes over and over again. They need new management.

Bungie just to make weekly challenges go away. It's the most stupid idea to grind for gear score. I like the Division 2 system, where you get higher GS gear with some chance from EVERY source. Open a chest? Here is your higher GS helmet. Ended random strike? Here is your higher GS primary weapon. That how it should be done! We all bored with old strikes. But somehow Bungie made it even worse with weekly bounty. I should first go 3 PLAYLIST strikes. With a subclass I don't want. Then, in 90% of weeks I should go and start strike from a planet, because I could never meet Scorn or Cabal boss in random playlist. Then go Ordeal and if you don't have a team, do it at least two times. So in the end of this stupid thing you catch yourself on the feeling you are doing only strikes whole week. Really, Bungie just need to change the whole system of leveling.

When you're fairly new - and actually trying to complete a forge ignite because you have a quest to do so - and find every run you try to be nothing more than watching the other 2 players you're in with do nothing or run and leap off the edge of a platform and never respawn. I see your point, however allow me to offer a counter perspective. To start I have played MMO’s and RPG’s most of my life. WoW, Guild Wars, FFXIV, etc. and those games all had a grind component to them. A much larger grind component in fact. Back in the early WoW days (and this might still be the case) you could find private servers in the web. I was a much younger man then and I wanted to “skip the grind” so I joined one, leveled to max immediately through console commands and gave myself all the best loot in the game. Within a week I had run out of content to do because I had cheated through the entire thing, although this wasn’t against the rules on a private server so... whatever. I found myself quickly going back to the grind and enjoying the game much better playing the legitimate way and went on to play lots of end game content, which also had a grind component. What’s the point of this story and what’s the difference? The grind is a component of these types of games. It’s not my favorite part but it’s consistent across MMO’s, RPG’s, etc. and will continue to be until a company can figure out a way to produce content as fast as the players can consume it. So locking end game content behind a grind is supposed to be the prize at the end. If you didn’t work hard to get there, I promise you the reward at the end isn’t as sweet. “Oh but I’m tired of the grind, I paid for the content, it’s been 6 years of the same crap, blah blah blah” yeah I get it. Been here since Beta and I’m getting to that. Now for the difference. MMO’s and other RPG’s (by the way that’s what destiny is fundamentally) typically have large engaging worlds with a variety of things to do on the side for players while still allowing them to engage in the world. Destiny’s options are 1.) crucible which isn’t in the best state 2.) Gambit and Gambit prime which is in an even worse state 3.) collecting Lore which destiny actually has a lot of really engaging lore and 4.)..... not much else... that is really worth doing in any meaningful way between start to finish or at least low stress and still fun. Something I LOVED was Sparrow Racing League. Armor didn’t mean shit and the shaders kinda sucked but man was it fun talking shit to my clan mates. An ACTUAL CRAFTING activity could help. More frequent side quest content drops perhaps. Anyways that turned a little ranty and I’m sorry for that. TLDR: End game content will always be locked behind a grind wall because studios cannot create content as fast as we consume it so adding things to do between the start and end of the grind would be more enjoyable than just taking the grind out.
