I was playing D1 for some raid nostalgia and I remembered that there was tiers of difficulty which made the raids a lot more accessible to newer players or new-to-raid players. I think having that option could open up raiding a lot.
I also believe in raid matchmaking (let’s say for the easiest level at least).

1 ReplyEdited by Swiftlock: 6/13/2020 12:09:34 AMImagine mashing together randoms that don't have mics, don't have good internet, don't know raid mechanics or might not even speak the same language. And what if someone quits early? Does matchmaking have to apply to each separate raid instance? How would that work? Implementing raid matchmaking is a fool's errand for Bungie.

11 RepliesBruh matchmaking in raids has been brought up in the forums so many times. There is so many reasons why it wouldn’t work. The best thing they can do is to make LFG more well known to new players.

Edited by Sweet Lew 88: 6/13/2020 12:57:20 AMThey got rid of normal and heroic mode to keep every one in the same pool. Once heroic comes out, then almost no one wants to do the easier version anymore. The raids are doable. I usually beat my first ones by playing with lfg randoms. Just need to study first and listen to the Sherpa. You can do it. No matchmaking because Bungie knows it would be a bad experience, worse than lfg. See Swift's response. Who has time for an 8+ hour raid with noobs? I think Bungie is looking for completions, not as many players that can play. They want people to have good experiences, matchmaking would not provide that.

7 RepliesMatchmaking wont do anything but cause more chaos. Have you seen the idiots in public events and menagarie? If they cant throw a simple ball at a boss or dunk in something, what makes you think theyd be able to handle something much harder? Though I feel like raids should be much more rewarding
