Why would you sunset armor? My warlock still doesn't have the exact stats I would like, but it has taken me 400+ hours to get close to what I would like. Now you are telling me I have to do this again?!
Sunsetting armor is an absurdly ridiculous idea. I could honestly get behind weapons, but armor is way too expansive and time consuming to go through this again. Please do not do this...
Edit 1: One suggestion that I like would be getting 60+ base stat armor for pinnacle activities and 65+ for end game activities (Including max valor reset, gambit reset, raids) Along with lowering the cost to masterwork an item. If this was a change I would be completely fine with sunsetting armor.
-
Sunsetting basically threw masterworking in the garbage. Why bother grinding for masterworks when you'll just have to get rid of them after a few months.
-
2 RepliesThere's no point in grinding for new armor. Theres zero point to sunset any of it either. Weapons stand more of an argument but armor especially with these terrible designs we've gotten mostly will have to grind our eyes out to get armor from Eververse to make a half decent look over and over and over again everytime they want you to be end game viable.
-
Ok with guns...but armor??????????is already rng he'll to get what you want so much fun ...
-
I’m just pissed I’m going to have to take a hit to my LL in order to use taken/fallen/hive armaments.

1 ReplyBungie- Proudly $#itting on their active player base, since 2015....
-
Leave it to Bungie 😏
-
Excatly i could care less about the weapons! But the armor? Come on!
-
1 ReplySame can be said for playing this game at all now....for what?

I understand being mad at armor being sunset, since it seems like you'll never have those stats again, but know that Prime engrams were patched to drop very high rolled armor, with a tendency to spike in stats, and being able to get multiple Primes a day, it will be easy enough to get a very good piece. And the last half of the Season Pass armor has 65+ stats on each piece. So I wouldn't be too worried about NEVER being able to get a good set again over an entire year. And pay attention to what season all your armor comes from. Most of it probably comes from either this or last season, because of the inclusion of Prime engram stats. So it really is a lot easier to get high rolled armor than you may think. Ofc RNG + playtime is always the problem, (and this season, no one can blame you for low playtime), but you have an entire year to use the set you finally get. And with the addition of transmog, you'll be able to make the set look the same every time.

400+ hours that's some really garbage RNG you have there. That said I'm content to sit on my 80 80 80 titan.

1 ReplyWelcome to Destiny where Bungie claims to respect your time by doing the exact opposite constantly.
-
Agreed mate Even if you get 65 items, it doesn't make them the directly perfect for your build, think about the pass armor, its 67 stats but when you put the full set on, you get 6 or 7 points wasted on each stat My build is almost perfect 100,60,100 60,57, 33 If my 3 extra melee points were on the 57 intellect, I would have a perfect build. But it's good enough. Now I went 2 season grinding iron banner and doing actual math with a calculator 😂 to get the perfect things, and I really can't be asked to do it again

1 ReplyHow much of a difference does "perfectly" rolled gear make to the random piece that drops? Really though, I'm curious. I've never really played attention to stats on armour so I don't know. If you can still kill people in PvP with random armour and not die in PvE activities, does it matter that much?
-
15 RepliesWow, its almost like theyll need to make the grind more focused and have more consistent material drops that make the game feel more rewarding on a daily basis. Wouldnt that be crazy. If the games pace shifted, by making loot non permanent. Wouldnt that be wild. Wouldnt it be nuts if weapons could be grinded easier. Wouldnt it be nuts if they made an engram where you could focus the loot drop to be high level armour. Man, THESE WOULD BE CRAZY IDEAS HUH. ESPECIALLY IF THEY WERE WRITTEN IN THE TWAB LAST -blam!-ING WEEK

5 RepliesArmor is always the same and it doesn't play into power creep in any way. The only reason they want to sunset armor is so that they can get us to grind more and transmog. I was considering weapons and I would be willing to try and get used to it but armor sun setting is a joke and completely unacceptable. At least in my insignificant opinion.
-
Yup. For nothing. The entire game was for nothing. Bungie promised a rich gaming experience and developed it into mediocre grinding with good gunplay and movement.
-
3 RepliesThe best was Solstice and Revelry armour becoming obsolete right after we finished grinding them. ;p

4 RepliesEdited by Corrick II: 5/24/2020 10:58:03 PMIt’s dumb, but armor upgrades have always been a dubious exercise in RNG and spending resources. I learned not to stress over it. What I do find frustrating though is that armor and weapons are being rendered useless by sunsetting and the only concrete information we have as to what’s replacing them is... the exact same gear. Except now it’s going to be everywhere and you have to grind for it all over again. The only way this makes sense is if the whole company somehow brainwashed itself into thinking this is the best way to develop the game. This is obvious if you read the TWABs. Any sane dev would be shaking management yelling “this is wrong, why are you doing this”.
-
This is why I never fully masterworked any of my armor... I knew it was going to be a wasted effort.
-
I totally agree with you it makes not sense to me why they would sunset armour
-
Sunsetting armor=microtransactions=greed
-
2 Repliesexactly! If my armor is sunset it will 100% just make me into a casual player, I'll never grind hard for armor again and will probably be playing D2 less
-
1 ReplyEdited by killa beaver: 5/24/2020 7:12:17 PMAgreed, the armor sunset is absolutely not nessecary, it took 9 months to perfect a PvP build. and I haven’t even been able to complete an ideal endgame PvE build, let alone easy seasonal content build. That and the fact charged with light/ warmind cells will only be available on raid gear, so now I have to grind raids, hope I get the right piece, then hope I get the right stat roll.
-
2 RepliesBungie does not give a shit about your time. Haven't you guys figured this out by now. You all should have figured this out when D2 first came out and the base version of the game was a massive fvck you to every D1 player by hard resetting the entire game.

Edited by Hells Assailent: 5/25/2020 12:48:58 AMI am already going full on free to play. Probably will drop it not long after that.

I feel the same.
