as per the title.
I had played originally when the game came out for the majority of my first season pass, until it was woefully aparant that there was just not enough content in the game.
Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, I returned, had an abundance of content to play through and was enjoying myself, .... right up until I read about all this retirement nonsense.
Completely sucked ALL the desire I had to play this game out of me immediately. I don't know who thought this was a good idea, but it's not. This is the biggest slap in the face to a gaming community in I don't even know how long ... a long -blam!-in time. Like I went from playing 10-14hrs a day to not even logging in. Just killed any desire to play this game completely -blam!-ing dead.
You make us jump through all these hoops to get this gear (the majority of which is purple), sometimes having to farming for weeks even months to get that perfect roll and you just want us to have repeat that crap every couple of seasons because the majority of our gear is now completely obsolete?
-blam!- NO!
there are certain things you should never do as a dev to your community imo, and this is definitely right at the top of the list.
This entire idea smacks of lazy devs with no imagination looking for an easy way out.
In any case, no point in playing anymore, so GG on blowing your game up.
P.s. whomever thought having all these different sets of armour to do different areas was a good idea, needs a punch in the throat too. Cause that's almost as stupid as the retirement idea. You give us all these crafting options on gear and then don't even allow us to use them lol. ridiculous.

Maybe I should install Warzone. But I don’t like BR.

I stopped playing this hot garbage since they nerfed EP shotgun, started playing Warframe and can't believe how much of a piss poor counterfeit Destiny is. Almost came back to D2 when Shadowkeep came out but then realize how that swords use ammo and how pvp affects everything in the game.

2 RepliesEdited by John: 5/20/2020 7:46:23 PMAgree, but I fully expect them to shove it down the players’ throats anyway. Even the reasoning is dumb: “We are worried about power creep” Two sentences later: “Now we can put out more weapons as powerful as the Recluse!” Wait, what? I thought you were worried about power creep, but at the same time you are going to supposedly release a bunch of weapons as powerful as the Recluse each season...okay. Or how they don’t like weapons going unused because only a few are considered powerful enough, so their solution is to make all the weapons not used after a certain amount of time, so they can rerelease powerful ones each season...which still causes only a few weapons to be “meta” and the rest to be “worthless”, but hey, at least they cycle out every 4 seasons, and we get to regrind for them! The best is the armor reasoning. Not only is there no power creep with armor since it’s just randomly rolled attributes, all they are doing is forcing more grinding and reducing build options by essentially removing armor mods each year. They even say they know players don’t like that armor is only good for 2-3 seasons if you want to use the latest mods, so their solution is to guarantee that all your armor is useless after 4 seasons, and prevent you from using older armor mods at all...thanks. I’ve never seen a game company that actively tries to hamper player options by removing content whether it’s old gear, or old activities. What’s funny is according to the recent TWABs Bungie has acknowledged that removing content isn’t in the player’s best interest, but somehow I guess they didn’t think the same would apply to gear? Edit: Forgot to add, I think people would be more receptive to bad ideas if more important issues like no match making for Nightfalls beyond Hero, no loadout options, etc. were addressed first. Why is "sunsetting" weapons a priority at all?

I was just about to turn it on, but I got tired just thinking about it so I turned the Ps4 off.

6 RepliesAllow me to just say this... I don't know when bungie changed for the worse... It might have been the seasonal shit. Foresaken was a Amazing campaign and great lore, weapons and armour. Shadowkeep was a great story, new weapons and armour. Then bungie decided -blam!- that! The streamers who have their head up our ass are who we listen to! We hear you feedback... We just don't listen to any negative feedback because we don't want to hear we -blam!-ed up. We are bungie. Untouchable This isn't the same bungie anymore. The bungie that cared for the fans, created epic stories in and out of games. Made cool guns Made sweet armour All gone to this company that's does not give a -blam!- anymore. You want proof? Sunsetting was teased ages ago as weapon retirement and was HEAVILY SCRUTENISED. It got slammed by negative feedback and of course the streamers agreed with it. Bungie always say they are listening ... But not to us. They then said its set in stone and is happening. And thus this new bungie cast away the destiny universe to the darkness because they are as incompetent as the people defending every bullshit action they do. I get it, you like the company but have some opinions of your own and realise bungie doesn't care about no one but themselves.
-
Anyone who's spent time on this game knows Bungie's a garbage game developer. That's why they're trying to make us leave. The new players won't really start caring for another year or two. Wake up new people! Learn to hate Bungie with hammers not handouts.

Lucipurr you make some valid points and i agree that eververse should be removed from this game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defences, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

Havent touched this game since January! So happy about that what a -blam!-in joke. Only come on here when I read how stupid Bungie is when they make the news on the internets

1 ReplyAll of our stuff will have a death date but I am sure the Eververse store will still have a whole new inventory for purchase and zero activity rewards. Just make it a pay to win phone game at this point.

You’re not leaving

46 RepliesYou're not leaving 'cause of sunsetting, you're leaving 'cause the game is boring now. The sunsetting thing is just something the vets are telling ourselves is the final straw. If the game was still good we'd be playing it. But it's not. It's boring. Ridiculously, mindnumbingly, tediously, repetitively, boring af. That's the real reason we're leaving. It's been over a year of non-stop boringness. Over a year. This game is only fun to New Lights that are doing the missions for the first time. (oh, and also to those weird vets that sound like they're in a brainwashed cult and say stuff like "i'll be preordering no matter what.") For the non-crazy vets, it couldn't possibly be more boring to just keep doing the same ol boring bounties to stockpile resources to level up when the time comes for absolutely no reason other then because that's the end game. b-o-r-i-n-g! That's why you're leaving.

Love destiny. But I'm taking a brake. Open my head to battle royale hate construction though, so giving a chance to apex and having a blast. When bungie start to care about us players that flood them with money I'll be back. But I always check the forums.

Can somebody explain why we still have the same guns of the first iron banner and crucible? Dude when I go to the tower and drop crucible tokens to get the same guns since launch? It's like you wear the same clothes for weeks without change It. I'm sick of it. Bungie became a lazy company.

1 ReplySome people are overreacting to sunsetting but at the same time a lot of people felt like that was a relic of the past. Bungie keeps making the same mistakes over and over again without ever learning from them and the fact that this is the 4th time gear retirement has been a thing is enough proof of that. They have a lot of potential to tweak the sandbox now and make the game feel fresh without having to design all new weapons for people to chase. For example the pinnacle scout rifle that came from the vanguard has never once shined but on paper it’s a monster. With this new system being put in place even if they do go back and adjust this archetype it will never have its day in the sun. A lot of players are tired of the same old thing I get it but the game has several archetypes in it that just don’t get used due to One archetype being the best in all situations. So that limits the guns we end up using as players by quite a bit. For example out of all the new seraph weapons released this season why is the shotgun the only weapon worth getting? It’s a monster in both pve and pvp because the archetype is in a good place and it can roll with some pretty decent perk combinations. I personally love how it feels to shoots and how snappy it is with QuickDraw snapshot making it an instant aim down sights when drawing it..... people just don’t expect it to be honest. But looking at the other seraph weapons really only the machine gun is worth chasing. The auto rifle isn’t in a good archetype, the sidearm doesn’t come with a lot of perks that make sidearms good, the handcannon is a 180 which is the worst Handcannon archetype in the game and while it can come with multi kill clip that’s just about the only perk worth getting on this gun especially considering the archetype. You could make an argument that ambitious assassin paired with multi kill clip is the best roll on this gun but at the same time a 180 Handcannon is basically a sawed off scout rifle with sidearm range so it’s outclassed by the other things in its range. Now most people would look at what I’m pointing out and say yes this is why we need gear retirement but they forget that without addressing the issues these guns have it will still be the same with all new weapons coming forward. Saying these weapons need to be stronger has nothing to do with power creep and everything to do with making them easier to use or better in certain situations. The sandbox would drastically change if they addressed these issues and they wouldn’t have to go through and make all new models and all new perks. There are things you could do to adjust different archetypes without making the “power” of the weapon come forward and it being the only choice. For example if the made 140 Handcannons a two Headshot one Body it wouldn’t bring down the Ttk but it would make it more forgiving instead of having to compete with 150 rpm Handcannons in a Ttk battle. The 140’s would still shoot slower than a 150 but it would make them desirable because they are forgiving. This also still ensures that a 150 still maintains a better TTk but you have to land your headshots in a duel. So skill still comes in to play. That is just one archetype being adjusted and it opens up a whole lot of new options for people not just 150 Handcannons because they have the fastest TTk. Changes like this would open the game up a lot more without Bungie having to waste a bunch of time and energy on weapons people still aren’t going to use...... also last thing I’m perfectly ok with them just straight up upgrading pinnacles into exotic weapons..... they have unique perks that can be tuned directly without effecting the entire weapon category making it easier to balance. This change alone I think would be a great middle ground for people for and against gear retirement. If they do push forward gear retirement this would ensure that the players who grinded for these weapons would have their time respected and it would shift the meta considering nobody likes using exotics for add clear apparently even though there are plenty of legendary options for boss damage. As for rituals I don’t believe they belong in the same category as pinnacles and should be kept as legendary weapons.

As long as there’s a end goal or reward your shooting for. But now when our gear is on a limited timer of usefulness, it makes the grinding not worth it, and getting a god rolled item a joke. This is totally crossing the line and dumping on players hard dedication. I thought Bungie left Activision so why is there such bad decisions being made.

It's not just the sun setting of armor and weapons that's the problem. The gam has become stale and boring. I have put many hours into this game Loved playing it.But I have to say lately its boring and no much fun. Do people really think were gonna get all these great weapons and new gear because of this. I doubt it, gonna be just grinding to get something that will become useless in a year. While I do hope something turns out good from this I'm not holding my breath. Before sun setting and having to make new weapons and armor bungie should have done quality of life fixes. PVP is horrible the Lag and cheating. The seasons are mindless bounty grinds. Sure they say they are working on it but isnt that what we are always being told?
