Looking back, it's pretty sad.

First things first, I want to say thank you to Bungie. Destiny has been a massive part of my life ever since I first saw the Destiny 1 teasers. I remember watching Datto's video on all of the classes, seeing the Hunter's Gunslinger and going "I want that!" I got attached. The game was everything I wanted. I could jump into a world, and just be completely enthralled by it. It was amazing. One of my most fond memories of Destiny was my first ever exotic. The nightfall was The Nexus, I was massively under-light, but a buddy of mine (who I'd met through destiny) took me through. We cleared the strike, pretty slowly mind you, but we did it. I remember sitting on the edge of my seat as I watched the final drop screen. Then there it was, The Last Word. My first ever exotic, I treasured that exotic for so long, It's still my favorite to this day. I've had so many good memories with Destiny, so many things I'll never forget. I grew up with Destiny. I've been playing since I was a kid. It helped me through a lot of bad times in my life. It lead me to the great friends I have today. I'll never thank Bungie enough for that. That's why it's so damn sad when I look back at those times, and see where we've gone now. My weapons and armor are being taken from me, the content isn't fun, it's not rewarding, there are no characters I connect with, and much, much more. Yes, Destiny 2 can be fun. It's always great to run a raid with just friends, or do some private matches. But my memories of D2 are not. I don't get the memories of my first Crota clear, or the memories of annihilating Skolas with GHorn when it was solar burn. I don't get that with D2. I remember the hell that was Curse of Osiris. I remember the reign of OEM, or the "2 tokens and a blue" rewards I always got. I don't remember my first exotic in Destiny 2. But I can tell you exactly what my first D1 exotic was, and where I got it. Where did that go Bungie? Why don't my weapons mean anything? When they do mean something, they either get nerfed, made easier to get, or now, just removed. Why? I want the old days back. I want D1 back. I want my weapons to mean something. I want the activities to mean something. I want the game to mean something. I want to be driven to get a weapon because I want it, not because of FOMO. So many people are leaving Bungie, please, please take this as a sign that something needs to change. Go back to your roots. Go back to what we had in D1. Not just for the money or acclaim, but for your dedicated fans. Please.

  • To this day, I can still run King’s Fall blindfolded but for the life of me, I forget even Leviathan mechanics until I get going. I’m with you on that one.

  • More toxic nostalgia. Everyone remembers Age of Triumph and thinks that all of Destiny 1 was that game. Go back and play D1. You will find it a slow, clunky and small game with very little to do.

    • D1>D2 And before that naysayer Kellygreen attempts to defend d2 like a sjw defends feminists I was there from the start and I remember everything and with all it's flaws D1 had it is still better then D2.

    • Destiny 1 was my destiny... D2 is not destiny.

    • Well said. I have great D1 memories, loved it. My memories of D2 will be about how I dreaded all the tedious boring work, and how anything I got I just felt relief that it was over and just threw it in the vault.

    • The first game was created with heart even though this company chopped it up. It has a better loot system and now the WoW guy 4 years later is trying to use this next season, 4 years too late 🤦 It has a better skill tree It has a better leveling system It has better gear designs It has replayable content And, a few other things better than this game 4 years into it. This company took the small petty things like fast travel that improved upon that, but left out the important things that made Destiny a looter shooter.

You can have your opinion of course, but just wanted to say they aren’t “taking” your weapons from you
