It would honestly keep to the Gunsmith's old theme. Banshee has always been known to offer things like Hakke, Omolon and other specific types of foundry weapons and most of the faction weapons are the same kinds of weapons he'd offer. About the legendary engrams though, if I remember right, the odds of getting armor are a 5/8 chance and getting weapons are a 3/8 chance. From what I understand, the RNG there goes by the equipment slots over the number of different items you could potentially get from it. Pretty sure that's why Edge Transit and Zenobia-D were so common from those engrams back in the days because there wasn't many power weapons that could drop from them and it used this system. Basically, it will roll an 8-sided dice. If it rolls a 1, it will be a kinetic weapon. 2, energy. 3, power. And 4-8 would be armor pieces. After it rolls the dice, it then checks that category to see what kind of loot can be pulled specifically out of that dice roll from the engram and rolls another dice to determine what exactly you get. When you think about it, it's basically the exact same legendary engram system from Destiny 1 except put together a little bit differently. The only difference is that in D1 you'd be given a specific kind of legendary engram after the first dice roll (primary engram, helmet engram, class item engram, etc) and then all of them had to be decrypted manually for the second dice roll. It doesn't have to be just Trials of the Nine weapons, but I understand the interest. It's just who knows how long Gambit and Reckoning will be around before they try to update them. I'd want them to update something more permanent with new/updated loot like Strikes or Crucible. And maybe spice up the Strikes playlist somehow in a manner that casuals would enjoy it more.

I like the idea of Xur selling the weapons and armour from trials if the nine with random rolls and stats rather than all the exotics which drop from world drops or activities they could keep the fated engram as well. Was a do player back when trials if the nine and not much of a pvp back then either would be nice to get that gear.

Honestly, if they're going to keep Forges, Menagerie, and Reckoning in the game, they NEED updates. Add more old weapons to forges, change Menagerie's inventory every season, and add the Trials of the Nine weapons/armor to Reckoning as drops. It's not that hard to do, but Bungie is more focused on bounty grinds and RNG drops from engrams.

They should make xur sell rotating trials of the nine weapons each week. That way I can actually have a reason to visit him again.

Faction gear should go back to the Faction vendors, and the latter in particular should just work the same way it did back in D1. They shouldn't need that many voicelines to do that, if any, and it should take much less effort than the bunkers overall. Trials of the Nine weapons should be moved to Reckoning, either as rare Tier III drops from completing some additional objective (such as a flawless run) or a new Tier in of itself. They should also come with decent perk pools.

I'd prefer if they moved all gambit rewards to the reckoning, removed gambit entirely and used the space they'd clear to add more to other parts of the game like strikes. As far as the trials of the nine gear goes it would undermine the work people put in to obtain them if they were readily available from another game mode however if they were to be reintroduced in my opinion it would be better if they were random crucible drops instead.

Trials weapons have to stay in trials. I know many players want them but they’re a big reason to play trials. Same with raid weapons. They have to stay as raid rewards.

Nine weapons were and are the best looking weapons in D2

Tbh since trials of the nine wasn't really played by the playerbase it should be in the lootpool for reckoning but the entitled side me says it was a "You had to be there moment"

Bring back Destiny 1 style Factions - and add that stuff, plus some really worthy armour/weaponry/loot in for Rank Up Make the Experimental weapons more of a thing for the Forges (2+ years since Black Armoury, only ever had 1 solitary XN-Galliard - really crap roll too) And turn ALL of Y1-2 armour into Universal Ornaments, so we can have the choice of wearing battered Scorched armour with a Lev Raid helm, Firesmith Chest, Bladesmith Cloak etc & still equip onto Y3 mod frame
