Patch Note Preview: Destiny 2 Hotfix 2.8.1.1.
This Wednesday, April 29, we’re planning to release Destiny 2 Hotfix 2.8.1.1. This patch will have fixes for bugs that have popped recently, and also has a quick tuning pass for a weapon that’s been shining a little too bright in the Crucible since Season of the Worthy began.
Hard Light, a name that may either strike fear or pure joy in your heart, will be the subject of today’s article. Here are some notes from the team on how this weapon will be tuned come tomorrow morning:
[quote][b]Dev Team: [/b]Hard Light has been at the forefront due to a combination of recent adjustments to improve its usability and the adjustments to Auto Rifles that came with patch 2.8.0.
Most of the adjustments coming on Wednesday are to address its usage for mouse and keyboard users since the ability to precisely aim regardless of range allows you to use the weapon at longer distances, on top of being able to use ricochets more effectively.
Although weapons like the Fighting Lion can also do what Hard Light does for indirect fire, they are generally less effective during a direct confrontation. Hard Light boasts a lot of great stats, and its impact grows with more players using it - eventually no cover is safe. As such, we’re reducing some of the aspects that allow for indirect fire and unexpected lethality in odd scenarios, while still retaining some of the bonuses to keep the flavor.
Hard Light
- Hard Light's damage falloff now floors at 0.7x (Auto Rifles use 0.5x standard).
- Split ricochet bonus damage between PvE and PvP.
-- PvE damage remains at 2.0x damage.
-- PvP damage is now 1.35x damage.
- Removed a hidden recoil adjustment that made the weapon more stable than intended.[/quote]

Shouldnt y'all be focusing on unerfing weapons and buffing every other weapon instead? And be fixing the glitching and the cheeting that's been happening and maybe the people asking for money to go flawless or raiding granted the raiding part is really rare but my point is that there are more things that are important than nerfing things and honestly maybe the reason these nerfs need to come in is because the other weapons aren't strong enough to go against them.

Hey, cudos for nerfing Hard Light👍🏻but, you forgot to nerf all autos, 540 pulses, shotguns, most 150-180 hand cannons, all bows, all shotguns that hit farther than melee range, all snipers,again, any exotic weapon with an exotic perk, exotic armor with exotic perks, trace rifles, oh sidearms for sure, fusion rifles, machine guns, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, linear fusion rifles,, oh snap, sorry you’ve all ready nerfed most if not all of these already at some point. And thanks for not nerfing swords....yet. Just give us all baseball bats in crucible and people would be complaining about swing speed, reach, damage fall off, ghost swings, hit registration, etc. Thanks for the memories Bungie!

35 RepliesInteresting you rushed to nerf hardlight but haven't touched the ridiculously over powered exotic for the titan once again the Anteaus Wards. This is just like OEM. It will take you months because you favor Titans and will cheat any way possible like giving them the broken exotics you don't fix until it is to late. Bad form bungie

6 RepliesThere’s too frequent nerfs and not enough buffs to create a better balance amongst weapons. When one weapon is over performing, it is fine to nerf it. What isn’t fine is then ignoring many of the other redundant exotics which no one may even consider using. Even when then said neglected exotics are buffed, they are then nerfed later on. Almost as though it was done as a PR move.

Blimey can nerf stuff straight the way but can’t fix problems in game. Such a disappointment this game was so good but lately seems since these seasons was introduced the game as lost it’s way. Hopefully you can fix it as fast as nerf stuff. Seems streamers have most say in game as what they post seems to bring change by yourself. Fingers crossed you can fix game before to many people leave the destiny community.

I've been playing D1 on my son's account for the last 2 weeks. I decided to load into D2 and check out this guardian games again (the last time I was on D2 I got disgusted after about 30 minutes with hardly any progress towards the ridiculous grindy requirements) I grabbed the class item, a few bounties, and went to spider for some legendary shards. I got a warning that servers were going down for this maintenance.... well it was enough to make me log back off of D2 and I've been playing Destiny 1. After 7000+ hours into D2 I'm disgusted with the bounties and objectives you are giving us. I dont want to stop playing D1 because I am having fun... something I cant say about D2 any more. I look forward to some of the changes coming, seems like you are finally seeing the light... your current plan is turning players away. I was #86 in the world in time on D2 on PS4, now I cant find a reason to keep playing right now. Think about that. Destiny 1 = fun Destiny 2 = bounty grind

22 RepliesWow, as soon as a EXOTIC starts performing like an exotic the crybabies come out and Bungie pats them on the diaper. Nerf angels are happy, elitist don’t want the competition? No they say Get good son and their right. If something life doesn’t go your way adjust but nope Bungie teaches that someone will swoop in and magically make it fair fir you becatse you whined and didn’t invest in getting good.

I say that cause when the next 'it' weapon is dominating pvp, people are going to expect you to hotfix a nerf for it. And there is always a next 'it' weapon, so what are yall gonna do, just keep nerfing?

Buff 450 and 360 autos than so we have some viable guns to play with. There are more hand canons to play with than any other weapon classes put together. Please give us some variety that can beat hand canons. Otherwise what’s the point of having any other weapon classes.?

3 RepliesWhen will Bungie wake up and realize the vast majority just doesn’t care about pvp or have any desire to partake in their version of it. Stop catering to the streamer pvp crowd and stop wasting time creating “watchable” nightfalls..... literally next to no one cares!! You know what does sell games? For starters dedicated servers, a clear direction of the game as well as the polished version you guys keep rambling on about but never deliver. You know word or mouth, reason myself and all friends quit is obvious right now and if the game was based more towards quality and fun vs. eververse and bounties maybe we would have stuck around. F2p is not the answer, seasonal passes with content that disappears is not the answer, time gated fomo is not it either and you do not need eververse either. Create a good game with quantity and quality, charge commensurately and stop trying to make the game for everyone, pick the few demographics you want and stick with it!! Stop trying to cater to literally every type of player and focus on smaller group. Because imo you are trying to please every type of gamer with destiny fight now but in reality non of them are actually happy.
