The post linked above is the exact same problem that many laptops with intel graphics cards running destiny 2 off an external HDD are facing (specifically the WD My Passport external drive). We have tried everything to no avail. We have gone the extra mile to re-install and try every technique multiple times.
Here is a pastebin of the error that I receive: https://pastebin.com/QnwwfLqq
Can devs please patch this ASAP? It's been a problem since last September. It's frustrating for us all.
I would also like to mention that for some reason it wouldn't let me put tags on this post saying I could only add a maximum of six, even though I had less than that.

8 RepliesEdited by RurouniDante: 4/21/2020 1:57:46 PMHi there! Reviewing the information you provided, it's looking like you are not meeting the minimum specifications to run this game. Intel graphics chipsets are not powerful graphics cards. They are normally sharing the memory with your machine, so they can only be allocated as much as the PC can provide, which in most cases, could only be 128 to 256MB. Also, if you have the game installed on an external hard drive, you will be more prone to data corruption. USB drives, at their 3.0 speeds, can only reach a maximum read speed of 100MB/s, which may not be enough to run the game at a stable pace. Just to put things in perspective, your hard drive can reach speeds of up to 1GB/s, depending on the connection and speeds of the hard drive. For more information on the minimum specifications for Destiny 2, please review the below article. Destiny 2 PC Support

As stated by Dante, the problem is that your video card (Integrated Intel graphics) is not up to the task, and that's not something Bungie can fix.

Here is another whole thread of people with the exact same problem 6 months ago. Bungie why aren't you addressing this? You said you passed this onto devs 6 months ago....
