Turning Matchmaker On Will Allow More Access to Content

At this point in the lifespan of Destiny 2 there is no reason to turn OFF matchmaker for various group activities. Whoever it is at Bungie that thinks it's value added to have to manually piece together a group hasn't really been playing D2 for the past couple of years. Today's Example: Nightfall Legend 1000 Matchmaker Off Very few these days want to sit in Find Fireteam waiting and waiting and waiting when turning the Matchmaker ON for Any quest can easily be an option. Do you really think it is a FUN activity trying to get people to do the thing you most want to do at the time you want to do it? Chances are they are doing something they want to do and I don't have the time to reciprocate. Much easier to just turn ON matchmaker for those people on the globe that want to do that specific thing. If anyone reading this says 'join a clan', very true at one time clans when the game was new had that 'I'm up for that' mentality but that is long long long gone. Clans now (and I've been in many) either do what the leader wants to do or simply ignore requests....So much simpler to start turning Matchmaker ON.

  • Answer to your title - yes it will; you can like/dislike the idea but the answer is always yes! In my opinion there are 2 things that need to be implemented to make this work - I would suggest only for content currently not matchmade: 1) optional - mentioned every single time this is brought up... yep matchmaking needs to be optional 2) ready button - when your team is assembled you won't be automatically loaded in until you hit the ready button - time to chat about load outs (or inspect, if you don't want to talk!) and switch gear. The above would effectively be an in game lfg, which would be an improvement!

I already tried explaining how the built in matchmaking in this app works but you refuse to use. Stop complaining. Its actually better and won't degrade the game by matching up with ill equipped players preventing players from not being able to complete events. The fireteam matchmaking in app works the same but you can easily see what people are running and can change mods or equipment prior to it being locked. And if you wish to not use a mic understand 90% specifically say no mic needed. Its literally better than in game matchmaking that would just frustrate people when they can't complete events. They didn't include in game matchmaking for that reason and instead created a wonderful feature built into The App you are using right now to read this. Use it

  • There is a ton of reasons not to have matchmaking turned on for end game level stuff. I don't want to get matched with people who don't have proper mods or equipment. Bungie has a official lfg built into this app that allows you to find teams or post for a team. What's nice is that o can do other things while putting together a group. You can help others by letting them know what mods they need. Don't change it. It works for most people who actually pay attention to the features bungie built

    • Nope. There are multiple reasons why this is a bad idea as well as not worth the resources needed to do this.

      • There is no reason for everything to not have matchmaking. Don’t want to play with randoms, bring a team.

        • Then you join bad clans. In my clan, you have people get on or stop playing other games to help out with things, if you ask, and I have had the same group since early in D1. Yes, there is an expectation of you helping out when they need it too, but is that really so strange?

        • The only way I’ll support this and only for non raid activities is if they make you bring at least two champion mods while the non match making gives you the opportunity to only bring one since you’re probably more coordinated and not playing rng to match making

So you want them to ruin the challenge of challenging activities? Or do you mean matchmaking not matchmaker?
