Empyrean Restoration - seriously?

I will never understand why so many Destiny players are so excited about an event that basically consists of the dullest, dumbest, most mindless and boring grind *ever* in Destiny. You play your a**es off over and over and over in the same activities you have probably been playing dozens and dozens of time to scratch together more Fraktline you can donate or use to upgrade your Obelisk - to get more Fraktaline in return you can donate or use to upgrade your Obelisk. And for what? For rebuilding the Lighthouse so Trials can come back? They will come back anyway in season 10, because that will be its main attraction. Bungie has simply found a nice way to keep you busy achieving basically *nothing* in a so called "common community effort". And you people keep running after a carrot on a stick - and Bungie extends the stick depending on how much you guys stretch your neck, i.e. how much Fraktaline you donate. It doesn't matter how much Fraktaline you donate, Bungie will simply adjust the amount required so that the event will only end in its final week. But you keep running ever faster to donate ever more. You could as well go to the sea shore and start shoveling sand from the sea on the shore. That would at least be good for your health (probably not if you did it as excessively as some people seem to grind Fraktaline). And you don't get it. This is an incredible and stunning demonstration of how mindless people can be. The only thing I will do in this event is to grind some weapons from the Obelisks by completing their bounties with donations of 400 Fraktaline, and farm weapons from the Obelisks by using most of my Fraktaline to upgrade them. I couldn't care less about this entirely pointless bollox Bungie has come up here. You have to give them this though: They have devised the cheapest possible way to keep the Destiny community busy without actually giving anything to them. I am actually wondering whether the people at Bungie made this a test to see how far they can push Destiny players' stupidity. The apex of this, the irony is that you can only donate Fraktaline in increments of 100, each donation taking at least ~4.5 seconds. I have read posts from people sitting for hours and hours, donating Fraktaline - and obviously believing they are doing anything worthwhile, they are actually achieving something here. Do you really have nothing better to do, no better game to play than this?
