This just ruin Crucible, it is lazy and cheap as hell. How many times would you have someone in a bind and get KO by handheld supernova? It is OP AF. It takes out multiple guardians so someone can just run up to a group and release their grenade and instant KO the opposing players. With the right mods, weapons, exotic and discipline, handheld supernova becomes very cheezy.

It has immense power in close range. Outside of that, it's an "I lose" button. Hunters get 1 hit knives for as long as they hit head shots, Crayon Eaters get Shoulder Charge with an Exotic to rinse/repeat that hilarity. We've all got cheese, adapt, improvise, overcome.

It basically became my go-to way of quickly killing someone because 9 out of 10 times there was nothing they could do about it. Just BAM instant kill. I don't use Void subclasses these days and now I know why Handheld was so potent for me back then, as a newbie player. Because it's brokenly overpowered and so easy that even someone who just installed the game can rake in kills with it lol. It's effective in the hands of a potato newb and even better in the hands of a pro. "Just dodge it." "Move out of the way lol" yeah these arguments don't work. People can't run from it and it's absolutely lethal. Even without Contraverse Hold, it has no counter. It's an "I win!" button ability. Yeah I used it a lot. It's absolutely broken cheese.

Maybe if bungo gave us something else to use we'd use it. Can't blame the players when all the other warlock supers blow and people don't want to use inferior abilities to make it easier on you.

But so is being able to dodge as fast as every 9 seconds which is also the only instant class ability and the most useful and that also grants reload or melee recharge, DoT suppression, camo and radar invisibility. So chill out there Mr. Nightstalker. You really can’t complain. Sounds like you tried to sneak up and shotty one too many Warlocks who weren’t taking any of your shit.

Instead of complaining think about it like a shotgun, the only difference is slightly higher ohk range, a short charge time, and it hinders your movement speed while charging/charged. I think this balances it out because it is also ok a cooldown. To work around this slower movement speed you should back up and not rush into the warlock while they have it charged

2 RepliesI'd like to play more hhsn warlocks in comp so I can practice beating it but hardly anyone uses it because its really not that good. Sure the ability is good but you have to sacrifice by taking a completely garbage class with a bad super and no in air game just for 1 ability. It's an incredibly 1 dimensional class. As far as ppl running it with lord of wolves, why would you take a weapon that covers the exact same range as your main spam ability. I don't get it.

How do you outplay or counter something that tanks everything you throw at it and then tracks you 15+ meters away! You don't. Other things in the game being broken or outliers that need tuning doesn't justify other broken things LOL. We all know it needs tuning. Stop defending it and acting like it's in a good place or something. Don't like something else? Well bring that up in another topic then and have a discussion on why it's broken. Maybe I'm old school, but I believe that aim and movement should be the clear winners in a FPS game. I can't believe the amount of things that track and the amount of bullet Magnetism there is on a PC game.
