After reading feedback and tweets and watching streams, my conclusion is Bungie can’t win. People complain about something is too easy, then it’s too hard, then it takes too long or not long enough. They want a gun or armor that already existed, but wait, they also don’t want reskins or old content.
.We just got a new Blam-ing gun! From what I can see, Bastian is going to wreck in crucible. I don’t care if I knew it was coming. Why should I? You know what? I also knew I was going to get a pigeon feeder emote at level 99. Did I post here and complain about that?! Nope, I bet the people complaining here didn’t either. They grinded for it. That’s what you do in this game! To whine about the quest and it’s reward is nothing short of entitlement and lame.

People are more mad at the fact that the gun was supposed to release in the season about two weeks from now, and the time wasted doing the puzzle just to get it early. It's a cool gun and fun to use. Bungie should have just done this as a reward for completing the CoT, and then done a different weapon later on.

People need to stop complaining about things being easy. Just let it be easy. Who cares.
-
It's because the weapon was on the roadmap. People are used to puzzles like this rewarding something unexpected. It's another case of players setting their own expectations andd lrojecting them on Bungie but this time, I don't blame them. There is precedence for what to expect here and honestly, Bungie should have known this would upset a lot of people. Personally, I don't care, I always enjoy new activites we weren't expecting...but I also empathize with those who are upset about the reward. Im kind of surprised that Bungie thought this was gonna be a haooy moment for the community.

Yeah, the destiny community is pretty toxic. Particularly on these forums. No matter what someone takes umbrage with it and posts an obnoxious rant.

Edited by superluigi6968: 1/21/2020 8:39:00 PMSimply put: What Bungie thought the playerbase would think: Cool, we worked together and got the exotic a whole week early! What the Playerbase actually thinks: WHY WAS IT THE GUN THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO START NEXT WEEK?! More upset at being misdirected than happy to get the thing earlier than expected. Edit: Or maybe that's just what Bungie is trying to cover with. IDK. Either way it started with a failure in the marketing department which resulted in player expectations exploding out of control.

Edited by KlLLER7: 1/21/2020 8:14:08 AMIt’s extremely simple. It was an exciting quest and people had expectations. The end result could have been anything and people were expecting something new and exciting. Expectations were not met. Simple as

Post whichever of those you like. Critiques of other players not welcome.

Tell people that, it's not that I'm mad, it's just that it's everyone else to blame for my personal issues.

The problem is the let down. I think it was a Final Assault situation SORT OF. The puzzle itself was awesome is the general consensus I have seen. People think the corridors of time were super nice. But Bastion was believed to have been a separate weapon not tied to this since it was on the road map. I think had it not been on the roadmap it would have been fine. Although bungie put it on the roadmap so it wouldn't seem like we had like nothing to do this season. At the very least I think they now know that we understand these seasons will provide substantial content (imo) for $10. So hopefully they will keep secret exotics like this off the roadmap.

3 RepliesWell, I get it. And you got me. So if you got me, and I get it then - you got it👍

Its just the fact the puzzle was meaningless since we were getting the gun anyways. Now we get it one week earlier, big whoop. Saw this coming right when the puzzle came out.
-
3 RepliesSo... you're just getting upset at other peoples' opinions.

10 RepliesYou don’t get it. The weapon was on the roadmap. Historically, things like this do not reward things we know about. I.E Whisper and Outbreak.
