"The outgoing Iraqi leader says that Soleimani was supposed to bring him Iran's response to a Saudi proposal for de-escalating regional tensions.
Abdul Mahdi claimed that Soleimani was due to meet with him on the same day that he was killed by a US drone near the Baghdad airport early on Friday.
Saudi Arabia, a regional rival, blames Iran for an attack on the kingdom's oil facilities in September.
Abdul Mahdi also claims that President Trump called him and asked him to mediate talks with Iran after the US embassy in Baghdad was nearly overrun" (Daily Mail.com).
But hey, we're the good guys right? Yeah! Let's go murder some more people because Iran doesn't like us. Totally not a pointless war...

It’s too bad the folks at the Daily Mail aren’t making the big calls since they have a monopoly on ALL of the intel concerning anything ever. Good looking out!

5 RepliesUnfortunately most Americans are brainwashed. "Iran is evil and terrorist" and they believe pretty much everything their manipulative media and government say.

75 RepliesConsidering that he was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans, probably behind the attack at our embassy, and is a terrorist.... yes.

Assassination is old as hell & is far more humane than he deserved. If the Iranian people are rejoicing that an evil man is dead, then let it be.
-
5 RepliesDepends why he was killed. If it was to "decapitate" pro-Iranian forces in Iraq? Then yes. If it was because he was a major figure in the Iranian government....then no. But since there is no clear distinction between civilian and military leadership in many totalitarian states, things (and the rules of war) get murky.

5 RepliesCalling for negotiations and then just killing the other party is a terrible move. Countries in the future simply won't negotiate with us, because how can they trust us?
-
2 RepliesIt's not that they don't "like" Americans, it's that they openly "threaten" Americans
-
2 RepliesIran already -blam!-ed themselves after launching those missiles, and they didn't even kill anyone from the US like they always boast about. If they attack any other country they're just going to create more enemies.

2 RepliesEdited by TheBudgieKing: 1/8/2020 11:32:12 AMIran ps religion states that I order for the next stage of existence requires apocalypse, this is why people (mainly US) don’t want Iran to have weapons of mass destruction... We know that they were planning another terrorist attack, and we interrupted the prosses and delayed the eventual attack. Was it nessisarly? Probably, do we need to go to war? Yes, Iran’s a bigger threat than people understand...

Maybe in killing the general but not in the impending war it may bring. It’ll destroy Iran, innocents will die and the Middle East will become even more of a wasteland. America is not justified and it’s probable actions in a war will far outweigh any casualties brought by Iran.
