At the 2:34 mark, he presents a chart that explains the odds of getting what you need.
Basically, "where" you combine it determines the odds where the Sleeper Node will be.
Make it in one place, it'll end up in another. I've had great luck with this video.

Thanks a lot, fellow guardian. :) Well, I tried combining at multiple places, but it seems that I was INDEED extremely unlucky. However, I wasn't aware of the chance percentages. I'll retry once the first issue has been fixed, million thanks.
