I’m a pure solo player in D2 and I really wish they would reward raid guides so that more people would be willing to show solo players how to do them and give them a change to actually complete some of the end game content.

They could improve it but as long as lfg is a thing and you can hand pick someone from a litter is going to be the preferred method then taking a chance on someone who has no idea what they are doing and hoping they have a mic.
-
2 RepliesMaybe they should implement raids as much as strikes in Destiny.. Make it a part of the game where you have to do the raids. Not full on, just stripped back and minimal with lesser reward than the full on raid. Make it easy enough so 6 can get together in standard mm and get it done like they would do with a strike. That would be enough to give people the general idea of what’s in the raid, and if they wish to tackle the full on raid, then at least they would be in a better position to tackle it via apps, lfg etc for finding a raid team.

Edited by RichGhost77: 12/4/2019 6:41:03 PMThey should incentivise raids full stop. Make them the only path to max light again. Have really awesome cool weapons that stand out above the rest (even if just in pve to avoid salty tears)

Anyone of those fine folks willing to take the time to teach should be compensated. I don’t know if they could use the guided games thing and set it up so it’s not abused to boost someone using friends. I’ve been taught by several sherpas in the past and I’m extremely grateful to them for their patience, knowledge and skill. If it had not been for them I may not have completed quite a few of them.

If youre on PS4 maybe you can come with us tonight. We'll be doing sveral different raids. Helping friends. Current plan is LW and an EoW (noth fairly easy).

1 ReplyAn extra pinnacle drop from participating in a guided game would probably do the trick.
-
They do. Its a sticker (emblem) Enjoy
-
They should be able to drop gear Everytime you run it. It should only be a Pinnacle drop the first time each character each week. But with the new armor system would make it worth doing to get the best stats
-
1 ReplyI think there was an emblem for doing x amount of guided games as a guide but that whole system got forgotten about so kinda pointless anyway
-
8 RepliesStill waiting for my first raid completion, booted from lfg because apparently i am a new light noob. Guided games do not work. No matchmaking option. Too many elitist kids in this community, no one raids anyway...
-
That's the guided games bit Jump in wait 2.5 hrs, leave before you lose the will to live Works great! You are right, if it was worth guiding, and the guided games bit actually worked, look how many more people would raid!
-
Yeah, my clan used to do them all the time for the Emblem there was 4 to get and they where nice. So made us want to do them every week, but they just stopped doing it so no point now just HELP people in the discord LFG. If they bring back the Emblem each season again would be cool..
-
1 ReplyReally, they haven’t touched Guided Games since they made it and there is no incentive to guide once or multiple times.
-
I’m a pure solo player in D2 and I really wish they would reward raid guides so that more people would be willing to show solo players how to do them and give them a change to actually complete some of the end game content.
This as someone who's done 50 guided last wishes and 0 GoS and CoS theirs no incentives... well now no incentives to even play.

8 RepliesI will be honest, I have been rejected from joining an LFG simply because I had experience. In fact, there seems to be a lot of people doing this right now. I am a solo player as well, 100% of my clan play only on PS4 so I am alone on PC. But still managed to do all end game content. There are two ways to approach this, either you wait until someone is willing to teach you, this is hard though not impossible to do, or, you watch a few videos and try to do the raid within the first 2-3 weeks of release. The other option is to create your own group and try to complete it yourself, I have also seen people doing this. I couldnt do GoS on the first day because I was sick, as soon as got better I decided to give it a go, went on youtube, watched a video or two, wrote down the main points, then picked up the first team I saw who did not require a completion, joined them (they were doing the 3rd encounter only) just to familiarize myself with the mechanics, completed the encounter in a few minutes, then went back to LFG, with more confidence, found a team and finished it in 1h.20m. If I can do this you can too! Anyone can

Between all the raids in D2, I have: 841 Raids completed 253 of those are sherpa runs (30%) 41 of those are guided games So there are players out there like me who do teach people. We usually do it in clan runs so we have our solid strats down and it's usually pretty painless. I do agree that the guided games system needs to be completely re-worked. It was a nice idea, but very poorly implemented by Bungie (shocking right?) There should absolutely be rewards for teaching other players. It should also be more than just a cosmetic emblem. To keep it fair to people who don't raid the rewards could be raid specific... something like an extra slot on the clan banner where after your clan does xx amount of guided games in a season, your clan earns an extra ___% boss damage buff in all raids where there are at least 2 clan members in it (or something like that). I will say this, if someone is willing to teach you then learn their strat and do it their way. Don't argue that "Datto doesn't do it that way". My clan is a raiding clan and we don't do cheese in the raids. We also don't do all the same strats that seem to come from streamers and be accepted as gospel. Often times we find a much better way to do something and it's infuriating when someone with NO clears in a raid and we are nice enough to be teaching tries to argue we should be doing it a different way. Lastly, PAY ATTENTION when we are explaining it... it burns me up when I explain an entire encounter to someone and they are saying "yep, uh huh" (acknowledging they are listening) only to finish and have them say "wait, I wasn't really listening can you say all that again"... you would be surprised how often that actually happens.

BIG time.. 1 enhancement prism per guided game.. 1 ascendant shard per divinity puzzle. clan perks exclusively to guides etc.. something needs to happen with that "must have 2 billion clears, fresh run, normal no challenges" nonsense..
-
Maybe if you do guided games as a guide, you can keep getting raid loot on a character, even if you completed the raid for that week. I think that might be a good way to incentivize helping new players with raids.
-
Maybe a weapon or armor quest for people who grind as a guide with perks that help them with guiding. For example, the armor can have a benefit to the guide, such as greatly increased protection so that he can stay in the fight longer in order to avoid wiping. Another armor piece can give him the power to revive himself and fallen teammates faster and on a shorter timer.

I do agree but then again I have 0 confidence many will do it anyways. People didnt even want to use Guided Games the first day it was available for crying out loud. Even with a revamp I doubt it'd get use. From my experience and what Ive heard from many friends, most people cant be bothered to help with stuff and those who want help dont accept it and/or make it impossible for people to help them. At this point Ive given up on that. Until I see some change in the community my response is just why bother honestly.

fosure... silver, dust, upgrade materials,

Would be cool if guides actually got something cool, but they'll never listen and it will never happen
-
3 RepliesEdited by TheArtist: 12/3/2019 1:38:57 PMCan’t. Doing that is at-odds with current raid design philosophy. The loot is mediocre and the raids themselves are designed so that just ONE weak or inexperienced player can halt an entire team’s progress. So there is no incentive to run raids more than once per character per week. Actual disincentive to run it with weak or inexperienced players. You’d need a complete rethinking of the role of raids.

Youtube is your friend

Here's the problem. If you make the rewards too good, clans and teams will just pull people through not really giving them guidance or teaching them thus resulting in a poor experience -- and probably even trashing or berating new comers all through the raid driven by their desire for the reward. If they don't make the rewards appealing enough, no one will do it. Raids just suck -- and by that I mean you either get lucky enough to do them or you don't. It doesn't feel like there is a middle ground anywhere. Try Reddit or Sherpa runs or finding a big enough clan that does teaching. Those are really your only two options unless you want to wade through the cesspool that is LFG.

Yeah guiding can be extremely time consuming. Not sure what would be considered as an acceptable reward though.
