Here is some ideas to keep the community more engaged on what destiny 2 has to offer.
DISCLAIMER: I would like this to be the top trending post so hopefully it wont fall on deaf ears. Although some would disagree with these ideas. majority of these ideas seem fair and reasonable. I also hope that this post isn't drowned out by critics who only want to see the franchise fail or concerns of parts of the game that aren't a priority. With season of the Undying coming to an end, Shadowkeep won't hold the game for long if the seasonal content is drip-fed in the future.
-Strike specific loot. I'm not talking about nightfall. New weapons and armor introduced. no ships, emotes,or sparrows. just random rolled weapons with a unique perk attached to them (practically exotic tier only active against non-guardian opponents) and strike themed Armor. Each Strike should consist of 1 weapon and 1 strike themed armor piece for each class, making a grand total of 4 pieces of loot per strike
-Factions. D1 style. I think its safe to say and many would agree that faction rallies was trash. everyone was spamming lost sectors for tokens only for an ok roll of a weapon (That's static) from the winning faction of the week when in reality the winner never mattered because everyone could get said weapon for free if you pledged to winning faction. or pay 100000 glimmer for the weapon. The D1 version of how Factions was handled is far Superior Compared to D2 and many would agree. So instead Implement it in the game but with a twist. We already have the resources for these factions so make all faction weapons currently in the game random rolled. Another way would be to give the factions' Ritual weapons, for example...
+ Dead Orbit's Dire Promise Hand Cannon ritual roll can come with feeding frenzy/Snapshot Sights for the first perk choice and Swashbuckler\Explosive Payload for the second perk choice.
+New Monarchy's Quitclaim Shotgun III ritual roll can come with Slideshot/Auto-Loading Holster for the first perk choice and One-two Punch/Demolitionist for the second perk choice.
+Future War Cult's Memory Interdict Grenade Launcher ritual roll can come with Shield Disorient/Threat Detector for the first perk choice and Rampage/Full Court for the second perk choice.
The faction weapons can all be rotated out each season with other faction weapons giving these weapons worth the grind. but these ritual weapons aren't the only weapons that people would grind for. They can be random rolled by earning them via leveling up the faction that was pledged. Make the pledge choice difficult by choosing per reset so if I pledged to Future War Cult I would get the weapon quest to start out but if I chose another faction the next reset and haven't completed the weapon quest from FWC, I cant make any progression because I've pledged to another faction for the week.
The more you level up in a faction, the more perks and rewards. the seasonal chart proves this can be done. For example...
+Level 5 grants additional faction tokens when completing Strikes
+ Level 10 grants additional faction tokens when completing Crucible matches
+Level 15 grants additional faction tokens when completing Gambit matches
+Level 20 Grants additional faction xp when completing Strikes
+Level 25 Grants additional faction xp when completing Crucible matches
+Level 30 Grants additional faction xp when completing Gambit matches
+Level 35 Grants a chance to receive a Faction Weapon/Armor drop when completing strikes
+Level 40 Grants a chance to receive a Faction Weapon/Armor drop when completing Crucible Matches
+Level 45 Grants a chance to receive a Faction Weapon/Armor drop when completing Gambit Matches
+Level 50 Grants an Ascendant shard and an Exotic Faction Banner Emote
........so on and so forth

(really I couldn't come up with anything else but its still a good idea)
Planetary Vendors- *Rotate these vendors as well and give them ritual weapons that rotate out with random rolled rituals each reset.* Also make the planetary weapons/armor random rolled when completing planetary bounties or when turning in planetary materials.
* now I know this statement may have confused someone but let me break it down....
EDZ's Devrim Kay has a weapon quest for the Cartesian Coordinate Fusion Rifle ritual weapon with Moving Target/Rangefinder for the first perk choice and Back-up Plan/Genesis for the second perk choice.
6 Resets Later......
EDZ's Devrim Kay has a weapon quest for the Cartesian Coordinate Fusion Rifle ritual weapon only this time it has Rangefinder/Auto-Loading Holster for the first perk choice and Subsistance/High-Impact Reserves for the second perk choice
Heroic strikes- I remember when it was a thing In D1. it should be implemented in the list of vanguard activites that we currently have. more modifiers, difficult, yet do-able.
see 1st paragraph in regards to loot however, with heroic it increases the chance of receiving the drop for strike specific loot.
Prestige Raids- I know a lot of people don't raid as much as I do not saying that I raid a lot. We haven't had a prestige version of a raid since Spire of Stars. That should be implemented back into the game though some would disagree unless there is some incentive to completing prestige......Better Armor Stats. The armor can roll no lower than 60 overall and no higher than 90 overall. as well as a chance to receive a raid ornament drop in a encounter and by the way Bungie if you are reading this, the ornaments for Eater of Worlds and Spire of Stars are UNABLE to apply to raid armor 2.0
Arms Week- Hakke,Suros,Omolon,Veist. The commonly known manufacturers that need to be implemented more in the game. give them a week with ritual weapons designed by them and handled by the gunsmith that people can grind for once per month preferably the last week of the month.
The Cryptarch- Give him a random legendary ritual weapon engram (call it a ritual engram) associated to his inventory that the player can receive once per week
Hawthorne- leave her be.... although as a clan, the founder of the clan should be able to create a clan shader via bungie.net that is completely optional for the clanmates to wear, a one time creation so if the shader needs to be changed a new clan has to be created
Amanda Holiday- its been quiet on that side of the tower since Cayde's death giving players less reasons to go to that side of the Tower. So Amanda should have some sort of bounty for ship parts as well as new ships for sell. we have dozens of ships now and Amanda Holiday should have the blueprints for practically every legendary ship
Eververse- I don't think it should be removed from the game due to Destiny 2 becoming free-to-play and Bungie being its own Publisher, so they have to make money somehow, However I believe we the community can All agree one way or another, that there is more emphasis on Eververse than any other aspect of the game.
Crucible-LMAO I don't know where to start with this...... Fusion Rifles(here's looking at you Erentil) need to be looked at. reaching max Valor should reward Pinnacle Gear once per season. Not saying that crucible doesn't need anymore incentives but please if anyone is reading this feel free to add incentives in regards to crucible
Shaxx- Whatever happened to the Crucible Quartermaster from D1? Implement him back into the game as a vendor with rotating weapons with random rolls. There are a total of 17 Crucible weapons(if you exclude the RC/RB LH/NF and RTK) that can be put in rotation with new perks added in the pool.
Zavala- If i'm not mistaken we had a Vanguard Quartermaster as well, someone correct me if I'm wrong. either way it should be implemented into the game just like the Crucible Quartermaster. There are a total of 19 weapons (if you exclude Wendigo/Oxygen/Edgewise) That can be put in rotation with new perks added in the pool
SRL- Bring it back Permanent with its own Armor and let Amanda Holiday Be the Vendor for it. New Tracks, as well as few D1 Tracks
This game is pinched by the neck and needs to breathe. I'm not speaking for everyone when I say this....But I would much rather for Bungie to work with what they have in the game already verses adding new content that creates bugs and glitches for the old content.
If making content is hard, then whats the excuse for content that is already created?
Edit: some comments I saw were about pricing and here is my take on that......
We shouldn’t get charged because legacy players such as myself and many others already have the y1 content. New light players shouldn’t pay for it because they never got the opportunity to experience the year 1 content ie factions, which could spark amazement for more engagement in activities. The only thing I would think is fair is new faction and planetary ornaments, emotes(devim Kay stance in the edz tower) through eververse. Repurposing content and selling back what we already have doesn’t sound practical from a business standpoint and
The
Community
Would
Be
Outraged
Edit: maybe ritual rolls for planetary vendors are a little over the top. So instead have the vendors rotate the planetary weapons each reset with random rolls
-
Why bungie just ignores something like that
-
Agree with every word but of course Bungie won’t respond to an actual good post
-
Disagree with some of what you said but I'm upvoting because it's a well structured positive suggestion based topic. Good job!
-
Anything worth upvoting isn't worth reading. Bungie logic.
-
3 RepliesIf they did all of this then the price of next DLC or season pass will be in thousands of dollars. Last I checked, they took 30ish for shadowkeep and season pass and gave us this poop show... imagine what the will charge for all the stuff in your list.
-
Sadly none of this will ever happen. Bungie is to busy reskining vex offensive for next season and making a fortnite style battle pass that I hope no one pays for. For real though this would all be awesome but I’m not going to expect anything out of this game anymore. I wish the best towards Bungie, I want them to make money, and be successful but the route they’re taking right now is not the right one.

4 RepliesEdited by ZoniCat: 11/28/2019 3:23:16 AM
The problem with this is it's WAY to many ritual weapons. They would lose all value with this many. And the power creep would be insane.
-
I’ll add to the idea pool. You know what would be neat. If along with whatever the most recent raid is one of the other raids were randomly selected each week to also give pinnacle gear. It would make use of old content and give players more incentive to raid. Also it would help fill gaps left by other raids. Like how Garden doesn’t have a power weapon so if you were extremely unlucky it’s possible you could never hit 960. If they did this they could possibly go back to pinnacles being only +1 or increase the pinnacle power level overall. Instead being 950-960, it would be 950-970. A lot of the problems with this game though boils down to loot. There’s just not enough of it. Rather there is enough but we are not given it, in some activities, at a good enough pace. Reckoning for example should drop a weapon every time. Menagerie is the best pursuit of loot in the game. Even in its “fixed” state. That says a lot about how poorly loot is handled every where else.

Edited by Tommy MFJ: 11/28/2019 10:07:55 AMFor the most part, I actually agree with this. The main thing I disagree with is the strike specific weapons being legendaries with their own perk that's exotic tier. Why'd you think they cancelled making pinnacle weapons? - broke the sandbox - the best pve weapons were pvp pinnacles - coming up with 3 unique exotic tier perks every season was becoming increasingly difficult. On top of those points, there's a lot of strikes so coming up with a ton of new perks in one go would be quite difficult. My second point is that rotating a ritual weapon every 6 weeks for all 10 locations with more upcoming doesn't actually sound doable. I see what you mean, but it just doesn't sound plausible, though I do believe a singular ritual or exotic weapon should be tied to each vendor via a destination quest (I'm looking at you no land beyond on the edz) Third point is the clan-made shader being a one time feature, the idea of a player made shader is great but limiting it to a one time creation to last 5 more years would surely piss people off and to change it they'd have to make another clan thus losing all their accumulated clan banners would also piss people off My fourth point is Amanda holiday. Instead of new ships on sale, I think you should be able to work towards any ship from prior seasons from eververse, not the ones from the current season. I'll expand on my point. Amanda has bounties that award a new item(the ship parts you mentioned) and you'd use these parts to forge any ship from prior seasons so for example, once season 9 comes out, you will be able to craft any eververse ship from season 8 regardless on whether or not it was on sale for silver only. Exotic ships would require more ship parts than others too and ships from events such as the dawning or festival of the cost wouldn't be included as event items should show only the people who played then. This way, Amanda can finally be the shipwright rather than eververse. To expand on that further, I think once they bring back sparrow racing league (SRL), they should bring a new vendor in who does the exact same but with sparrows instead. I'm struggling to remember the name of the most renowned SRL guy but it would be likely he would be the vendor. And that's that, I think you've brought up some excellent points and obviously it deserves an upvote

bump in memory of cayde who seems to have been forsaken for nothing... R.I.P

What is the difference between faction xp and faction tokens? Should it not be tokens instead of xp?
-
Edited by Cinderchar: 11/27/2019 12:14:45 PMBetter start sending letters to Activision to come back then because if Bungie thinks ‘making content is hard’ for what they’ve given us lately, they are going to need at least two more fully staffed and dedicated teams to fulfill your list.

1 ReplyShame that a lot of the community don't actually work at bungie wed have a -blam!-ing great game

Soooooo everything we had in D1 that was taken away for some strange reason? I agree.

Bump all day. Awesome post

Besides SRL almost everything else would take a few hours to grind through. Even rotating content would be done in the first hour. Remember people only logging in for the gunsmith every week? A caveat to strike specific loot for one reason, rolls. Which brings me to my overall point. If we really want engagement and a reason to grind focus on builds, perks and mods. Activities having specific gear enabling me to grind for rolls (strike specific, menagerie, Vex off) work. Give the vendors mods but make it a little less random. Also can I pick which mods I want to enhance and let me grind to earn the enhancement either from the original vendor or like a catalyst. Put different ornaments with different vendors. Maybe have an item that rarely drops in pinnacle activities that let's me reroll or even pick a new weapon perk.

I agree with your closing statement 100%, this game has enoigh width but it just needs some more depth

2 RepliesYou asked for an upvote so I gave you a downvote. That's how this works. You should j never need to ask for upvotes, if the post is good enough it'll get them automatically, otherwise its just artificial numbers.

3 RepliesOr yall just stop playing. For all of a month. watch as they "understand" the issues now and fix shit we've asked for since day one. SWBF2 is the best modern example of gamers ACTUALLY doing something for once. Just not opening their wallets. Turns out the hobby based industry taken over by corporate greed LISTENS when you don't give them your time or money. -blam!-ing surprise, folks.

1 ReplyEdited by Call_Me_DaddyDon: 11/27/2019 7:20:13 AMWhy new loot tho? How about they balance 90% of those weapons that nobody uses, to a point where they can compete with the 10%? If the loot is worthless, what's the point of giving it to players? Some year 1 weapons for example, they are behind when it comes to stats on the paper, but still outperform some of the best top tier weapons. I can name u a few if u want to... its boring sometimes, so u try out THE old stuff.

2 RepliesI copied this from a previous post I made. No use dropping gear at 950 plus if they are 48 to 50 in overall stats. 1- Incorporate vendors refresh loot on a daily basis for strikes etc. Helmet the one day, arms the next so on and so forth. (This would be great if it can be incorporated with renewed faction rallies, so? Bring back fashion rallies?) 2- Prior to cashing in weekly rewards for bounties completed, enable us to see the stats from the armor rolled, and let us apply a booster that boosts the overall stats by 5 or 10. 25K glimmer for 5 stat boost, 50K glimmer for 10 stat boost overall. (Mods can still be attached to enhance a certain perk) 3- Gunsmith should not drop armor? Rather give us a choice of 3 weapons at the time of claiming the reward. Kinetic weapon Engram, Elemental weapon Engram, Heavy Weapon Engram. 4- With Shadowkeep and the Vex Invasion, can you let us unlock weapon ornaments through quests for the Weapons dropped from these activities? 5- Legacy Nightmare Hunts. ONCE a Week. Have a Legacy Nightmare Hunt that is a matchmade 6 player activtity that is the last encounter of every raid Since D1 to D2. Drops from these would include a High Amount of Bright Dust and have a Slight chance to drop the Raid catalysts for solo players that do not have fireteams or a clan to grind with (before I get chastised for saying this, just thinking of the solo players who always complain about activities etc not being accessible to them due to the lack of a fireteam or their choice to play the game in the fashion as they see fit). 6- For a Limited time, bring back the D1 Strike with the Undying Mind that enables players to Farm for the D2 version of Imago Loop. (Nation of the Beast is nice but this would make up for the lack of reward for the Undying Mind currently dropping nothing but the same gear as the normal the normal vex offensive). Use that portal on the tower *cough cough*

Yep better rewards! I lost all motivation to play pve cause what’s the point! C’mon bungie blow us away next season 👍
