I bought Destiny 1 on launch day for xbox one and put nearly 2000 hours into it. I ran ever raid hundreds of times, and would always help any new player out. As long as people could follow direction, I was glad to guide people through any raid, and therefore, would accumulate many more raid friends. And the reason I could do that was because others would do it for me. Fast forward to Destiny 2. I played during launch and up to CoO. I then took a nearly 2 year hiatus due to moving to a place with terrible internet. I rejoined the Destiny world a month before Shadowkeep. I have caught up to the big dogs again, and am currently trying to get all of the achievements. And part of that is completing a few different raids.
Well, most of my clan and friends have abandoned this game. So I have resorted to forums and LFGs. No matter how honest I am about my noob status on the raids, but also how much I played the old ones, how quick I learn, and how well I follow direction, nobody cares. I have had NOBODY ever invite me. I have tried over 50 posts. Where is all the Sherpas? Everybody was once in a position where someone had to help them through the raids. But act all high and mighty when somebody else needs help. I am a good player who once I learn it, I can teach others.
Are there any people in here who have active clans that would like to help me out? Because It seems the community on LFGs has been awful. Help an OG guardian out please!

Hey bud Go to destiny 2 lfg discord and youll find a lot of people there willing to sherpa, i can sherpa any raid besides EoW and garden. If youre a ps4 player i cant help ya

They're getting paid to do it now. Raid report. Cam record all your raid stats and then those stats are fed into the account recovery sites for the job applications to become an account recovery person to get paid to play Destiny You're not going to find people giving you free Sherpas very much anymore

The raids have become too convoluted. I don’t think many people want to dedicate their time to teaching others. Makes me wonder how much raid fans actually do them anymore.
-
The raids are mechanic heavy and can take several hours taking new players through. I’d imagine most don’t have that sort of time often.
-
Playing other, better games. Literally just about anything else right now. Lol
-
Loot sucks. No I interest in raids.

1 ReplyEdited by Abyssoque: 11/26/2019 3:39:32 AMI am a raid sherpa dont do it much anymore since im more focused on exotic quests but if I ever have time and your down to listen and pay attention then no worries. But relating to the comment we raid sherpas are much rarer these days especially based off the current state of this game. A note though there are sherpas who will carry you and others who will teach you but you have to pull your on weight. It serves no real benefit to the player for future experiences if you carry them. So carrying and teaching are extremely different.

I’ll Sherpa you, Don’t step inside these raids. 👍

XB1 LFG has had quite a few newbie groups on it the last couple of times I've looked.

Edited by Boss_KADA: 11/26/2019 2:48:55 AMThere was a post a few months ago where a sherpa sounded too much like an lfg post, they probably do it in a limited capacity. They also might be some doing it for “other” reasons. The last time I tried helping, the dude couldn’t take it and kicked me, and left along with his lady. Helped one of the team at least

1 ReplyEdited by AbsolutZeroGI: 11/26/2019 1:46:37 AMI sherpa when I can but I'm on BL3, FF14, and ace combat 7 these days mostly. Aside from light grinding, all I do is raids now. I'm sherpaing someone through CoS right now (waiting for people to switch characters). But I don't go in LFG seeking to sherpa anymore. Too many kids wanting to not follow instructions and wanting carries not understanding that you can't carry people through raids in D2 like you could in D1. I have friends in my clan and IRL who message me when they need help with a sherpa raid.

3 RepliesDead game bro! Seriously though I think people have kinda started to reach a level of frustration with the game, a lot of people no longer have fun doing those things....just speed run logout.
-
This is the begining of the end. Matchmaking and horrible RNG/Pinnacle setup have frusttrated players. The party is over. Now that we have seen the full season of content we now know how shallow and dead this game is. The numbers are dropping and will continue to drop.

1 ReplyNo no no lfg IS THE BEST. “They” say

1 ReplyI stopped being a Sherpa after Destiny 1.

Used to sherpa, ended up meeting some great people and now I don't do it anymore. Simple.
-
I don't have time to Sherpa anymore due to college I loved helping people through last Wish.
-
They quit Destiny long ago for the better, were smart to foresight Destiny's destiny.
-
Most if not all have stopped already.

Make your own group

You can try finding a sherpa on the raid.report sherpa leaderboard. The top 5 or 6 are sherpa farmers though, meaning they wont teach you and instead will throw you in a corner to keep quiet. That’s great if you only want 1 clear but you wont know what to do.
