This is not a free to play mobile game

#removeeververse The game has paid expansions, paid seasons, paid campaigns, but it has more microtransactions than a free to play mobile game. The fact that there wasn t a vendor refresh since launch, but eververse gets updated every season pisses me off. Nowdays i feel like bungie is worse than Activison was. Remember when you bought a game for 30€ and it had cosmetics to grind for or when you killed a mob 3000+ times in wow to get that cool looking cloak that you can transmog? Either allow us to get everything for bright dust or remove eververse completly because it s a cancer to the game. Note: This will probably get locked but i don t really care.

  • just go play something else if you don't like the new, superior reward system... ?????? the Eververse is a STORE - Stores are where you spend MONEY.

  • Idiots can’t see the wood for the tree. Anyone with minimal IQ or honesty knows he/she is paying $/£/€ 100 a year since Y1 to be able to play the game. It’s slightly cheaper for Americans, as usual, anyway it was never free to play, and never will be. F2P is a commercial bate, and pretty much the only argument Bungie had left, since no one wanted to pay for old recycled and poorly revamped content.

  • Its free to start, not to progress. I wish they'd stop hiding behind that F2P bullshit

    • I speak with my wallet, I just don’t buy any of the overpriced eververse stuff. Not getting certain items is kind of lame but I’m not spending 10 dollars on an emote. Also to the people so valiantly defending the EV for some reason: 1. Bungie isn’t your friend. They just want your money. 2. You don’t need to defend them, they have lawyers for that. 3. And this is perhaps the most important point of all: The pursuit of profit is not some noble endeavor that is above criticism. Saying “well they’re just trying to make money” is not, and will never be in any circumstance, a defense for anything.

    • I remember $30 games having been around as long as the industry almost, and they've always been half a game really because the resistance price for spectacle equates to $60 and has since time immemorial, literally. Also I couldn't be troubled to figure out the euro symbol ascii, I apologize. Thinking your thread will probably be locked might also account for a kind of cynical view of how Bungie works - how it wants to work, how it has to work, and how that all gets shaken out by people who in the end just like making games; that is, partly with critical feedback and thoughts from people who actually want to play the games, like you. Don't denigrate your own opinion!

    • I am growing really weary of the noobs who grew up on microtransactions using their parents credit cards saying "it's just cosmetics, it's extra". once a seasons content has been played through, which happens rather quickly, there is no reason to play until the next season. there is no excitement in killing a gatelord for the 30th time and getting my 395th 950 sniper rifle to dismantle for nothing. back in D1, there was a chance you would land a new ghost shell, or a ship, or possibly a sparrow, and in raids there were specific cosmetics that would drop that were like a badge of achievement and worth replaying for. If you're not dropping cosmetics for me, then what new thing are you putting on offer to keep me playing? because frankly, most of my friends have moved on to other games or just stopped playing altogether, so the social aspect isn't holding me here that strongly anymore. for those who think that's not a big deal and one more person gone isn't going to matter, just think, there are 10 or so in my social circle, and I'm not the only one. the losses as people drop become exponential. now that they have released a free to play, it's going to be worse. the closest analogy, being fortnite. when I bought my season pass in fortnite, I could earn "silver" to buy cosmetics, or the next season pass, and when I dropped money on the PVE game, farming in game currency became even easier. destiny is moving in the opposite direction and that is not encouraging.

      • But this is not mobile so can’t compare it to a free to play mobile game. Perhaps compare it to fortnite or warframe which are the same model except fortnite will be charging for the games pve content again soon.

        • There is nothing in eververse but cosmetics. You don't have to buy them . Yes i would love a vendor refresh and i want factions back like in D1. I want the vendors to serve a purpose. I want tp pledge to a faction and level them up to get rewards. But still eververse just has cosmetics. they are optional to buy. They di not affect game play. People stop -blam!- about eververse and start complaining about a vendor refresh and factions. your voice will be heard more on those concerns more than griping about eververse.

          • There are worst stores out there for full price games. Selling cosmetics in this fashion is the industry standard.Go look at any other game. You don't have to buy cosmetic items. Get over it

            • Well now that Destiny and Fortnite are collaborating behind the scenes so it is actually now closer to a mobile game. So deal with it.

I would agree with you except you start your post on the basis of exaggeration.
The game has paid expansions, paid seasons, paid campaigns
You talk about these things like they are payed for separately, untrue Seasons come with the expansion, if you are paying for a premium expansion, then the campaign is there too. Question, how is bungie paying for the content that they provide us with throughout the season. Because one person buying the expansion (we'll use premium for worst case scenario) for $50? that's enough to pay a single bungie employee for ONE DAY. But I get it, there are more people buying the expansion then there are bungie employees, so lets say there are 4:1 buyers to bungie. That still only pays for about a week, yet there are developing for 2months and 3 weeks more (before they sell the next expansion for less money ($30 for the year) when they should have only been payed for a week. Where is that extra money coming from? What is fueling the game behind the scenes which was shown in the directors cut? Eververse. Best part is, it's an opt-out opt-in system. Nothing from eververse (par ghost shells) gives ANY advantage in game. It's cosmetic. This is the math, I expect each person who wants to counter this to read this post entirely

The seasons and campaigns come with the expansions so you’re being purposely misleading.

Actually every MMO has one now because they need revenue to keep servers running and upgrading them.
