Hand cannon range nerf is a bit harsh

Most handcannons barely hit half the ranges they used to. I definitely think they deserved a nerf but this seems excessive

    Yeah they are now 25-28 meters average. Rangefinder may push some to 30+ but rarely. 25-28 meters is 1-2 slides for a shotgun rusher.

    They are fine. They no longer compete at every range in crucible an encounter happens at.

  • They honestly need to unnerf 110 rpm, the range on those were one of the few things that made them good on console.

  • I feel it should be rpm based so lower rpm has longer ranges seeing that 180s can keep up with most other hc and thats not right. Plus everything outguns me at 32mm other than hc and every between 10m to 20m are shotty or smgs which can out play most handcannons smgs need to be slightly nerfed in range and so does pulse rifle fast fire scouts like randys nightwatch and mida should see the same drop off as handcannons about 33m

  • Recommend using Thorn. That gun actually counters the range nerf and is very top tier at the moment

    • Change to 23m base range please. +1m per 12.5 range stat and reduce zoom and range increase to +5% instead of 10 for rangefinder. Low range high handling/stability hand cannons will be at 26-27m. Max range will be 29-30.5(possible 31 with 100range) and you get another 1.5m with rangefinder. So 100range +rangefinder =32.5m....Tune The Last Word separately. The high stability/handling handcannons need a boost. I do feel around 30m is a good spot for hand cannons but so many are around 23-24m now which is TLW(smg, slide shotgun) range.

      There is no reason to use a hand cannon over a fusion rifle right now. Doing so puts yourself at a disadvantage with how easy it is to get kills with fusions and considering that fusions now dominate hand cannon range.

      • Nope hc’s got what they deserved. They were the only viable option last season, now everything is viable. Hc’s should never have been able to reach into scout territory.

          Well, the difference between lowest range hc and highest one is 3 meters... all hcs except TLW hit at least at 25m, then the max range ones start falling off at 28 meters unless you have rangefinder. This is bad, range stat means absolutley nothing and you have barely any breathing room between your fall of zone and recluse/tlw territory. Not to mention the map design where most traditional engagement lanes go beyond 28m mark. So yeah, hcs got overnerfed, but you won't get any traction on this forum with topic like that. People here love this scout/pulse spawncamping snozefest and will just downvote you if you ask for 3-4 meters back on handcannons.
