I play middle-tree Striker Titan, I use Bygones, IKELOS shotgun and Thunderlord. I run Year-One Iron Banner armor with the Armamentarium.
That's what I LIKE!
I DON'T WANT TO USE SMGs AND FUSION RIFLES.
I DON'T LIKE SMGs AND FUSION RIFLES.
And you people have the AUDACITY TO LOCK IRON BANNER ENGRAMS BEHIND QUEST STEPS WHICH FORCE ME TO USE CRAP THAT I DON'T LIKE/WANT.
This shit's getting old. No, this shit got old over a year ago.
It's gonna be a beautiful blamming day when you stop catering EXCLUSIVELY to the vocal minority of players who want everything to be a long, drawn-out tedious mind-numbing grindfest.
Jeesus H Christ, I already work for a living. I play video games to ESCAPE work. This shit's a chore.
And to everyone who's gonna say "stop whining" or any iteration of that: GET BENT!

The first D2 IB is what killed it for me, but I still play it for what ever reason, maybe because I never grew out of the event from D1 which I enjoyed, or because its an easy way to rank up, but honestly idk why I still play it. I would like Saladin to call me by my title Young Wolf like he did in D1 again, but that won't happen, but I hope he does say it. that's all bungie has to do is add some lines.
-
..... cry more please
-
To this day, I've not stepped into IB since you needed rank 35 for a badge from Y1. Yes, you needed enough tokens to rank up to level 35 to get a IB badge that did NOTHING.

Edited by GalaxySpider: 10/16/2019 7:02:12 AMIt's an evolving online game, with changes from year to year, which is absolutely normal, because it is not just "your" game. That is a normal thing to happen for every online game. Adapt to it or literally play another game. Not to mention the quest is, according to players here, easy and fast to do. Last time I checked also, people wanted the grind back (in some form at least). Year 1 almost ruined Destiny 2, and despite the flaws Shadowkeep has, like any other DLC and change (even back in D1 with every release) you have more diversity and options than before and the game is in a better state. Armor 2.0 also is an improved system, even though some minor changes are needed. Try something new for once... Not to mention the game never forces you to waer anything because a new system was introduced. It's not like your Armor 1.0 suddenly disappeared or so, including all of your guns. Play your old stuff and miss out something you might enjoy.
I play middle-tree Striker Titan, I use Bygones, IKELOS shotgun and Thunderlord. I run Year-One Iron Banner armor with the Armamentarium.
Then you have nothing to get about. The iron banner engrams contain none of those items. You're good without doing the quest
-
It's called testing new things. Do it sometime
-
God forbid they want to make you play with other weapons and challenge you. Jesus. Quit the game then. Go find another hobby you can mindlessly do the same thing over and over again. Yikes.
I play middle-tree Striker Titan, I use Bygones, IKELOS shotgun and Thunderlord. I run Year-One Iron Banner armor with the Armamentarium.
If that's what you like and want to use, then why do you need Iron Banner engrams? It sounds like you're all set with the gear you already have.

I’m sure the forums will take this post well and leave many constructive replies.

Boo hoo
-
It's mostly because they try and tie in with the rewards. Iron banner has a really good pulse, a really good fusion, a crap SMG, and a good grenade launcher. So they kinda want you to experiment with your loadout instead of being the typical "I ONLY USE ONE LOADOUT" player. It took me like 2-3 hours to get everything done... Honestly not that bad considering the ritual quest for crucible got like 11% in that time lol.
-
Lmao, stop crying

So wear your shitty armor. Nobody is forcing you to wear anything different.

Edited by Clancy238: 10/16/2019 6:36:51 AMYa know, there is such a thing as stepping outside your comfort zone and trying new things. Think of it like this: You say that you don't want to eat anything other than deep-fried doughnuts, but your doctor says that if you keep eating them, you'll likely die in 6 months. Okay, you don't have to listen to your doctor, but you are gonna die in 6 months unless if you decide to eat something that's either different and/or healthy to help improve your health. If you don't listen to your doctor, you'll get heart disease, diabetes, blocked arteries, and death. If you don't like using different weapons in Iron Banner every now and then, you won't get the gear you want and you miss the point of an MMO Quest Grind which the game is ENTIRELY based on. Life sucks. Get used to it.

4 RepliesSo they should just give you the loot for doing nothing?

Edited by WP ScorpionWind: 10/16/2019 6:17:50 AMI'm usually 110% the same way when it comes to things like this. Drives me up a wall, really makes no sense since Armor 2.0 was the work towards better personalization, customization, build diversity, etc. But I got to be real honest here, the Iron Banner pursuit really wasn't all that bad. speaking as someone who was I think 940 when it first dropped this morning. The fusion rifle step was a little difficult for me but the rest was a cake walk and was done within a hour or hour and a half. Plus the rewards for each step were so worth it IMO.

I think you need to get a grip. Try something new, you might like it.
-
All of destiny tells you what to do. Look at the bounties you pick up from all the vendors. You might want to switch to borderlands or CoD.
-
It's a game. Calm the -blam!- down. If you only wear old armour and use old weapons then why the -blam!- bother playing. Your just wasting your time. You have no reason to grind iron banner. You dont care about the armour, weapons. And from the way it sounds I highly doubt you raid or do High tier end game activities. Just get power slowly as the season progresses and wait for the next story quest etc. Bungie cant cater to everyone. You are the casual that year one was made for and we -blam!-ing hated it. It almost destroyed the game. Maybe you should just find a new game to play instead of continuing to play the FPSMMORPG THAT FOCUSES ON GETTING NEW GEAR AND WEAPONS.
-
Sounds like destiny might be too much for you to handle, maybe try Minecraft.
-
Bungie: “we like to focus on the least profitable and most detrimental market segment” Activision: “ok we’re out”
-
Yeah my thoughts exactly as to the different weapon requirements (even though the grenade launcher kills is currently broken and smg kills count instead - bungie please don't fix)
-
Yo....you really complaining about a quest? Its a quest step requiring not that many kills. Its really not that big of a deal....
-
It's a quest. A QUEST. If you can't handle a VIDEOGAME you shouldn't even play.
muted
-
6 RepliesThe iron banner quest is not long and this forum is the vocal minority. The player numbers are extremely high, so I guess Bungie is doing something right.

ARE YOU ACTUALLY KIDDING ME?! This is one of the easiest quest lines destiny has ever seen! STOP crying about getting 20 kills with a fusion and 15 kills with a smg. ITS NOT DIFFICULT! It takes around 1 to 2 games to get all of those kills, the zones and super kills are harder than the weapon kills! Whine about them instead of easy to use weapons
