EDIT: Holy crap! Look at the upvotes!

I’d settle for proper kill registration. My buddies and I recorded 5 matches yesterday. We watched each match and documented each kill in the kill feed against the bounty progress. At the end of 5 games the quest failed to register 4 kills. I know that seems like a small number, however it becomes a much larger number when you factor in the number of kills required. I started to suspect something when I was doing bounties on the moon or vex collective. So I started to record matches and analyze the kill feed. There is definitely an issue with kill/bounty registration.

My guy, it says it in the app. You're already on the forums so this shouldn't be a problem for you.

2 RepliesEdited by Xero: 10/13/2019 1:30:45 PMLatest discussion on this was 3 months ago. Response already given on the why. The response won't be changing anytime soon.

1 ReplyIf they changed the percentages to numbers, then the players would see just how much of a grind the quests really are.
-
1 ReplyI agree, the percetages are dumb, completely uneccesary.
-
I only have issues with it when it's PVP or Gambit, like come on bungie.
-
Indeed. Signed in Bungie's blood.
-
look at it in the app if you’re already on the forum :-) it says exactly.
-
1 ReplyI can pull up actual numbers by looking at the quest in the companion app. Just as others have said there are “variables” that change the numbers
-
It won't make any difference at all.
-
7 RepliesQuick tip: Get your percentage and multiply by the number of things you need to do. Example: For the mountain top quest you need to get 200 double kills but the triumph shows your progress as a percentage. If you have 15% you multiply by 200 and your number of kills is 30. 😎Easy Maths P.s. it doesn’t give you your exact number but it’s still good

Edited by gregoryw3: 10/12/2019 11:00:36 PMI agree. But Bungie explained why. It boils down to the fact that if they ever want to change an amount they can easily do it without the actual value ever being truly hard codded in. They also do it for language issues, since in some languages 3 words in English can take up the same space as 15 words in English.
-
2 RepliesSimple... % is easier for EVERYBODY.. Different languages take up more space in the description .. if you REALLY need to know just check the quest on the destiny app it'll show you how many kills you need
-
Would be nice for certain quests, but not all... besides, sometimes the percentages just make things easier to follow in a grind. This might just be personal preference but depending on the quest sometimes it’s less motivating to see numbers instead of percentages.
-
1 ReplyPro tip: if you want to know the exact numbers, go to the destiny app, click gear section, character with quest, slide over to general, and click the quest
-
No. Because certain things count for more than others and you can’t be as precise by using numbers.
-
1 ReplyI represent the casual player, I represent the bots that don't know what Im doing when Im playing this game. Percentages are so much harder for me, as a semi new player it really stresses me out seeing all these percentages and not knowing what to do or how many kills to get.
-
Yyyyyeeeeeeessssss!!! No more percentages. It’s getting very old.
-
I would just like to jump in and add the VEX Offence activity to this. Sometimes I complete the weekly reward in 3 runs and sometimes 4. This week I had 99% after 3 runs. Why not just make it *Do the activity X times* like Strikes and Gambit?
-
1 ReplyLiterally put me off going for any of the season activity weapons. The scout rifle one is absolute bull.

Edited by mdknyte: 10/12/2019 8:07:49 AMHow bout stop making "kill x amount of enemies" "quests." incredibly boring. make real quests. like borderlands 3 bounties. or stop calling them "quest" steps and rename them "FOMO chores."
-
Yeah I second this action a precise count would help greatly.

3 RepliesEdited by The Sword Logic: 10/12/2019 7:19:27 PM
We've been asking for this forever.
And they've been telling you that it's not possible for the same amount of time. Not all kills advance a given quest by the same amount. Anyway, here are some better games for you guys: http://www.nickjr.com/games/ THIS IS FROM FROM THE DESK OF PRESIDENT (kinda) TRUMP AND THEREFORE YOU WILL COMPLY: I need to see high scores from at least two of the games in the link above before you're allowed to reply to my post. Trump's rules; not mine.

15 RepliesPro tip, step one get one kill, step two check percent, step three do math, step four profit?????
