I've been having this error that usually pops up during a mission or when starting / transitioning to a new one.
I've cleared download cache, verified integrity of game files, and every other solution that I found after researching the problem. One of them mentions a steam_appid.txt file that needs to be deleted in order to solve the problem but I don't have that file. However, if I run the game as administrator I get the error before it even launches, and after that, the said file appears.
I've also updated all my drivers, tho it was to fix another error I got once, which happened in the same circumstances; the broccoli error. I never had it again so it might be fixed, but the one in the screenshot attached persists.
I've seen many solutions and people saying it got fixed but nothing works for me.
I can also guarantee that I don't have 300 friends on Steam. In fact, I didn't even reach 35.

I have the same problem, and its anoying when Bungie staff just don't read the entire article... I'm really hoping for a fix not a "Copy/Paste Script" when some error occurs

Edited by TheWitcher: 10/10/2019 1:33:04 PMIm having the same problem, since launch. I havent been able to play anything but the first mission and since then ive been getting nothing but "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF FILES" which is really pissing me off these day. More than a full week and all they have done so far is fix the 300 friends issue.

Hello, I have exact the same problem. Waiting for Bungie to fix it.
