So... what will be the point of playing competitive at all in season of the undying?
Edit*
Added my reactions to TWABs below.
Bungie- “we have reworked the competitive playlist so that it is more accommodating to solo players and removed all of the unpopular game types”
Me- “YES... FINALLY!”
Bungie- “ we have removed any incentive at all to play our newly overhauled and solo player accommodating competitive playlist if you played last year and have all of that pinnacle weapons already”
Me- “face palm”

Edited by BC1 Edge: 9/28/2019 12:04:38 AMYeah I didn’t touch comp until I realised that recluse etc requires fabled not legend so thought I would try. It was a tough slog but just made it. And good guns made it rewarding, IMO not overpowered but good. If there was no pinnacle weapons in comp or if the reward was armour, badge or a shit weapon I would not have don’t comp at all. Bungie please reconsider, don’t make pinnacle weapons OP but make them good and fun (the perk on recluse is so much fun in pvp and pve)

3 RepliesEdited by Whos K0NG?: 9/27/2019 11:28:50 PMYou will be playing for RANK which should have been the reason in the first place. Pinnacles had no place in a ranked playlist. They should however add cosmetics similar to d1 trials so you can show your achievements.

16 RepliesWith the changes to the ranking, you’ll be playing for rank.

5 RepliesLiterally no point playing comp
-
no more carries...
-
For me its a big disappointment that Pinnacle weapons have gone! However if that is the cost to stop paid carries/cheating and whatever was going on then I'll take that sacrifice...... I don't want it that way, but I'll take it as a crumb of comfort. Just IMO only.
-
Probably for cosmetics
-
The reason for playing comp is because some people like those game modes.
-
I hate to be that guy but I wonder if this means it will be easier for me to reach fabled and beyond? I also wonder for quest steps like mountain tops: reach fabled, if that will go away or not? I only ever wanted them to change the point system, i.e. where you lose point for a loss. It shouldn't go down it should stall and you only get points for wins, I understand it's more competitive this way but you can't control a guy who leaves mid match and dooms everyone else. It sucks losing points when someone leaves a match and its 3-4, 2-4 whatever.

Just remove the comp playlist entirely and bring back trials of osiris
-
Give the ritual scout kill clip and rampage and make the stats overall good and I think that'll be good. Add a drop mag in there and I think people will pick up that scout lol
-
There are still alot of ppl without not forgotten. Hopefully with a better comp system. It will be obtainable without having to pay some1 200$ for it
-
I’m guessing you’ll still need to play comp to get Randy’s Throwing Knife, just not reach 2100
-
3 RepliesFor fun and non-pinnacle gear.
-
4 RepliesI’m pretty sure it’ll have its own weapon/weapons. I’m think Bungie said that there was a Curated roll of the new Scout Rifle being added to comp.
-
Edited by Inumbrate: 9/27/2019 9:24:13 PMI’m happy Pinnacles are getting trashed.
-
Comp was so much better before the new ranking and pinnacle systems. I'm looking forward to jumping in more often, now.
-
The pve elitists kept crying
-
Why? So you can have super 1337 skillz by putting on one eyed mask and fireteaming up with other one eyed mask users. Become legend.
-
7 RepliesIf the only way to get people to play comp is to give them overpowered and game-breaking (in terms of PVP balance) weapons? Then the PVP experience is broken. Never mind the loot.

Removing Pinnacle weapons is tantamount to killing pvp. There is literally no reason to play.

I understand removing the idea of pinnacle weapons. It's difficult to balance, player economy, availability, skill crap mumbo jumbo. Fine. If they cant do it right, don't do it. Whatever. But we need a reason to play, especially comp. Hopefully these new "ritual weapons" will have some appeal. Maybe not unique perks, but unique combinations. However that runs into the problem where there are only so many things they can design with the perk set they have, and the combination of perks needs to be desirable. (ie. Useful) If we cant have new interesting weapons, at least give us a unique armor set for reaching a certain rank. Even ornaments would be something. Raids get unique armor, why not comp? And I'm not talking about iron banner, where anybody who plays enough can get it. Trials had it's own set, but apparently that's not happening anytime soon. And if we find out that raid weapons are getting unique perks while bungie says pinnacle weapon unique perks are too difficult to manage, heaven help us. People gonna splode.

They said crucible playlists will be different and so is the case again. I still have the questline for comp but that has never been a incentive to do comp cause Countdown has always floored me. Still got a few steps left but dont really care much. Dont get me wrong, id like the weapon but everytime i focus on a pvp quest, my pvp rating goes bad. Cant enjoy pvp cause of a questline

You seem to be missing the point behind Bungie making pinnacle weapons less strong.

4 RepliesI mean I still need to hit unbroken but who the hell wants a scout rifle for pvp? Talk about a boring play style.
