The game’s loading times have gotten dramatically worse over the past months since that one update. Its super frustrating and easily takes away some of the fun.
EDIT: I’ve heard stuff about SSD’s improving loading times. As much as i don’t like how I feel like an SSD is so necessary for older gen consoles, I have started to consider getting one. If anyone could help me out with details on how they work, which ones work well, which ones are cheapest, etc., I would greatly appreciate it (I’m on xbox if that’s a necessary detail)
-
Can u elaborate? I’m not having any issues with loading times.
-
get a 30 dollar 240 gb solid state drive and put the game on it. Works like a charm.
-
The consoles are six years old. At least that’s what I attribute it to.
-
Its slow but seems better than it was year one.
-
I'm not gonna shit talk but. Will say I hadn't really noticed. Match making in some instances is protracted but honestly, in the grand scheme of things I'm not that fussed
-
Is this a console thing or an xbox thing? The first thing that I noticed when switching from PS4 is how much more time I spend looking at my ship. I literally bought a game on my phone to play while my game loads.

22 Replieshopefully they jus drop console for destiny 3 so we stop having a ton of limits on this game.
-
1 Replyit's old hardware, you can try an SSD but going to PC is your best bet
-
I brought it up once and was basically just told to switch to PC. The loading times are horrible. Spend more time in screens than I do actually playing.

1 ReplyEdited by TheBostonbean: 8/24/2019 2:09:01 PMOld consoles, first generation Xbox One's and PS4's, are a problem for everyone. For players that use them, for players that have later generations and have to pley with friends who use the old consoles (delayed load times} and for Bungie who has to design a game that can be used on these consoles. But there are millions of them out there so we will have to live with them for awhile. A good PC setup is the ultimate solution but they are more expensive and less convenient for most people. Also, as many have mentioned, an SSD is an easy and inexpensive solution.

Comments are still loading... 😐

I have a samsung internal SSD. It fixes all those problems. I load alot faster but u still have to wait😪😪😪😴😴😴 for all the other hdd players.

I agree. Occasionally I will play Destiny 2 in my Master Bedroom where we have an Xbox One S. It really sucks on that console. Menus, changing instances, and travel time can be pretty long. However, most of the time I play on my Xbox One X in the Living Room and it runs really smooth. Regardless of what system you play on, SSD is mandatory for optimal performance.

Edited by CookieNiki: 8/24/2019 2:56:12 PMCompletely solved that after purchasing an SSD and moving the whole Destiny 2 game into it. Loading times have improved dramatically, they are a non issue now. I generally load into strikes, nightfalls and other fireteam events 30 seconds BEFORE other players appear. I play on a original XB1, btw.

Because most left.

2 RepliesIs the difference night and day going from console to pc? In terms of loading times I mean. 🤔
-
Who cares? Cross save is a thing, so go to pc or upgrade your console with an internal ssd. If not then deal with load times.
-
21 RepliesProbably because it can be mostly fixed with an SSD and that also shows that the loading times are because of how shit the consoles are and not the game?
-
1 ReplyEdited by Smough: 8/24/2019 3:04:26 AMNobody is talking about them because most people are smart enough to understand that consoles generally do things slow, especially compared to pc. The current consoles are getting pretty old at this point, you can’t expect them to do everything perfect. I mean, I’m not going to play a game from 2019 (just an example) on my console from 2013 and expect it to run the game perfectly.

11 RepliesEveryone saying get an ssd are talking out of their ass, I've an x with a t5 external and there is very little difference loading from the internal or the t5 to justify getting an ssd, every other game I play has no issues with the internal or another spinning based external its just the coding is pants. I also play on pc off an ssd and the load times are still bad on that.
-
7 RepliesThey need to play Horizon Zero Dawn. A PS4 game, great graphics, quick loading, open world. That is what a current generation console can do when the coding is good.
-
Yeah it’s actually bad. I remember playing anthem (lul) and one of that games main criticisms at its launch was the load times. All I ever said to anyone who complained was d2’s absolutely dwarfs any games load times I’ve ever seen. I swear it’s like when dual up first existed I remember my mom loading up her email, going to do shit for half an hour to come back and check it since it’s loaded by then

3 RepliesCareful, the elitists are coming.
-
2 RepliesThe loading times have gotten worse even when bungie stated they were gonna make it better but my other issue is I play games on PC and both consoles and all this elitist bs is starting to get on my nerves with the way the PC crowd is acting
-
5 RepliesThe time between “press x to play” and getting to choose your character is ridiculous
-
Have you tried unplugging it and then plugging it back in...
