The unnecessary grinding involved with Solstice is making me slowly hate Destiny again, that when it's over, I don't think I will be in Shadowkeep. It's burning me out completely. I just wanted a cool armor set, a cool title, and a cool pin. I understand working to get something you desire, but Bungie wants us to do all three characters just to get the Sparrow.
I understand it's supposed to be done over the course of the month, but 135 steps for all 3 Majestic sets when 90% of the community has life things to do aside from this like: work and taking care of children. Destiny should not be a full time job. 9 hours to go from Set 1 to Set 2? Then from Set 2 to Set 3 is unknown for me right now??? That's ridiculous, even if the player base data mined the steps prior and saved up tons of bounties.

It is literally day three......and you have FOUR WEEKS. FFS people......
-
Holy hell even for the average player you can get this done..... by simply PLAYING the game. On top of that, you have the rest of the entire month to get it done. If you don’t, there’s absolutely nothing to stress about.
-
6 RepliesIt’s a pointless activity for people who know what to expect, I mean when shadowkeep comes out people will start collecting the new gear for the dlc, this set won’t even see the light of day.
-
The FOMO is strong with this one.......

This is in my top 2 of worst grinds in d2. This grind for the solstice armor is insanely boring and tedious. Once again we are just doing everything we've been doing for years but at an extremely mindless grind. Plus imo eaz is also boring garbage. Extremely low effort stuff.
-
you don't need to have full armor set withing 2 days.

So Bungie will try to milk those players as hard as humany possible, and most likely ignore the casuals.

The Iron Banner armor grind is much worse. This is actually not that bad of a grind. Bungie makes a lot of stupid decisions but this armor grind isn't one of them. The lack of an event engram is baffling and annoying and something people should be -blam!- about.
-
3 RepliesYep. And couple that with some of the ridiculous requirements for it and it makes me want to skip Solstice and wait to get a Shadowkeep/annual pass bundle, on sale, next year some time. For which I’m sure it will be. Did the same thing with getting D2 in the first place. I think it’s break time from Destiny again.

Edited by TJ_Dot: 8/1/2019 7:53:23 PMI think mine just went out. Seeing a Titan has forced gold on his Majestic set... So much for hoping I'd actually use the Hunter and Titan one's this time. Warlock it is I guess.
-
Dude, it doesn't have to be done overnight. I'm still working on my green set, I have four strikes and four crucible games left... I'm in no rush. Slowdown. You're getting burnt out because you're overextending yourself. Don't do it.
-
It almost burnt me out but I wanted it out of the way. Now I have the seal and I’m just chillin
-
Don't do it then
-
13 RepliesDestiny are at this stage ion the game and still don't know how to make proper content. Everything is a grind, from exotics, to solstice events. It's hilarious to assume I would want to play Gambit 10 times, or jump into a broken crucible again after I already grinded for a recluse. Clearly, Bungie have no respect for my time.
-
Edited by reenry: 8/1/2019 6:45:11 PMIts to keep players grinding hard. Trust me,now with shadow keep delayed whats to do from now until October?
-
I wanted to do all 3 characters, but like IB, I’m only doing my main. This is just too much.
-
You have weeks to do it, not 2 or 3 days
-
1 ReplyThen don't go for all three. Focus on the one you like the most and grind out those objectives over the next month. You don't need everything. Bungie uses that Fear Of Missing Out to get you to play more. Go after the stuff you want and let everything else go. You'll be much better off not going after stuff you won't use and wasting your time.
-
Agreed
-
13 RepliesSet 1-2 took you 9 hours?? Damn it took me two lol the blue set us a grind but honestly we are on day 3 of a month. I'm sure a person could invest like 10-15 hours a week grinding you'll easily have all 3 sets. Not everything is gonna be acquired by everyone tho
-
6 RepliesSo you're upset that the free update Bungie released, which is intended to provide a month's worth of content, has been difficult to complete in 2 days. Hmmmm…..
-
There's hardly anything you can't complete on each armor piece that you wouldn't complete by just playing the game. I bet if you played over the course of the next 45 days you'd probably naturally complete it. It only feels worse because you want to get the armor sets sooner.

1 ReplyDo you need to level up all 3 characters to obtain the triumph (-> seal)? I have holiday at the beach, will only be able to grind 1 week...
-
You can easily get all blue sets in day an from them all you just do what you would normally do an will pick up the rest of the stuff only thing u will have to go out your way to do is the new area that's it.
-
That Sparrow will just have to be left behind for me. Even if I had the time to play all 3 characters, I wouldn't. It's too much playtime, and without new Engrams to award new items, there's really no point in grinding the game like that anymore.
