Solstice Armor is Burning Out My Destiny Fuse
The unnecessary grinding involved with Solstice is making me slowly hate Destiny again, that when it's over, I don't think I will be in Shadowkeep. It's burning me out completely. I just wanted a cool armor set, a cool title, and a cool pin. I understand working to get something you desire, but Bungie wants us to do all three characters just to get the Sparrow.
I understand it's supposed to be done over the course of the month, but 135 steps for all 3 Majestic sets when 90% of the community has life things to do aside from this like: work and taking care of children. Destiny should not be a full time job. 9 hours to go from Set 1 to Set 2? Then from Set 2 to Set 3 is unknown for me right now??? That's ridiculous, even if the player base data mined the steps prior and saved up tons of bounties.

2 RepliesIt is literally just time consuming. You are supposed to do that in a span of almost 2 months (triumph period extended so I guess solstice too). The requirements are very easy to do, nothing requires anything special or skill related...

Why would they spend money on developing lots of new game play, when they can just stick stupid high numbers in for grinding? Seems to be the direction Bungie is going

I know I won’t get the sparrow, but I still enjoy the game for the limited time I have to play after work cause it’s fun. I do agree their grinds are getting more and more stupid/ridiculous. I feel like every time I put this game down and come back, I play it just for fun and don’t care about items and it’s great. Slowly I start to care more and more about getting every little item again and it becomes less fun. Idk if you can relate but just remember we’re here to shoot shit cause that’s really all there is to do lol But, ye, I agree this solstice grind is a way to keep us busy with existing content so they can work on shadowkeep cause they didn’t want to actually put something out in the meantime

I'm a busy person and I like the fact that it's a huge grind most of us won't be able to complete. It makes the armor set rarer and gives it a bit of "wow" factor unlike 90% of the sets in game. Helps that it's arguably the best looking set with the ornaments applied too.

12 RepliesDon't hate the game. Just avoid playing the Solstice event like I am. It isn't worth the frustration for one armor set. On September 17 you will have plenty of opportunity to get new armor. In the interim focus on collecting resources that will help you in the near future.

I don't mind its length with 1 character, but the 3 character completion is a bit ridiculous. You should be able to get the sparrow with just 1 character, not 3.

Don’t even sweat it. When Destiny 3 drops, all of this will be for nothing. I’d recommend keeping a mindset that none of this will be available in D3, and just not worth it...don’t burn yourself out. Enjoy games that bring satisfaction, not dreadful chores.

You've an entire month to complete the armors!(you even pointed that out) But you're complaining about it because you don't have time, since, "the game looks like a full time job"!? Wut..!? 1 month.. MONTH... Damn month bud! That's more than enough time to get the 3 chars armors even if the path is a grinding one.

5 Repliesyeah the solstice armor isn't remotely worth this long of a grind, especially for stuff that will be replaced immediately in shadowkeep the solstice grind also has a bunch of traps where you can waste a bunch of time until you figure it out this grind wasn't designed around fun at all, just heavy handed retention attempt
