Why Are Solstice Packages So Useless?
I feel that the Packages should contain SOMETHING more that mostly blue items with the very rare Purple.... At least give them an Exotic like chance of dropping Armor glow, or more enhancement cores? Bright Dust for your exorbitantly priced armor glow pack? Seriously come on now, As they sit, they're worthless outside of the armor set to upgrade it. Its Sad, last year was great, the armor took a while sure. Yet the glow was obtainable with a little luck through Eververse Engrams. Not everyone has 15k Bright dust just laying around especially after your Triumph Hall with even more ridiculously priced items. I know you wanna drain us of our dust before you implement the changes but seriously, i'm not gonna be able to grind out 15k dust with how little the bounty's give and how long it takes to level up for engrams that also don't give hardly anything for dust unless you get an exotic, which is a BIG IF. I'm also FOR SURE not gonna dump 2400 Silver on armor that with be useless a week into shadow keep. Come on now Bungie, throw us a bone here, atleast make the armor glows obtainable through the Packages.

2 RepliesThey are not useless, save them until you get the legendary solstice gear, then that gear goes into that loot pool, then cash them all in so you can get better rolled solstice gear.

Each one since hasn’t been. To the point it doesn’t seem worth the time to chase key fragments and instead just work on the armor requirements. I wonder if others had the same experience. First box has 4-6 items in it. Then just a bunch of blue gear.

When you get majestic armor, the boxes drop random rolls for those. Just hoard em up.

People were literally [i]just[/i] whining about not having mats or not wanting to farm them. This drops them in droves. Plus theyll drop majestic once you unlock them

I originally thought they would be a way of getting the glows or more bright dust to purchase the glows. Then I opened 20 and only got some materials and blues alongside a legendary or two. I want my engrams back.

My guess is that when this event was originally thought out and began being designed a while back, the packages likely actually had a chance to drop things like the glows, and stuff like that. Or maybe they gave bright dust. But then Bungie changed their mind and again wanted to trying and get more people to pay money rather than earn the items directly by playing the event, and so they simply took the useful things out of the boxes and left in basically garbage, but since it had already been designed and perhaps somewhat programmed (part of the armour requirements), they decided just to leave them in. At least that seems like the most likely reason, because otherwise they really have zero point to them existing.

I got more of the dreaming city materials..... W....t.....f..... I have stacks of the stuff! Why is this in the "loot pool"?

I was lucky the first few times but they dry up pretty quickly. I’m assuming it’s like sleeper nodes where after one or maybe a few packages the chances of good loot drop dramatically to keep us from farming them. After just a couple of days I have over 500 key fragments so I imagine if every package had sweet loot the pool would dry up or we’d just be swimming in cores and gear.
