I've not seen a single person using Lumina
Haven't seen a single one in use since the quest dropped.
I've seen more people using bad juju than I have seen luminas.

Like many exotic or weapon quests earn them they go straight to the vault , Thorn , Redrix , Lumina , Hardlight just a few

10 RepliesProbably because the gun pairs perfect with warlocks however the warlock population in destiny is small so lumina wont see much play unless its the raid

It’s fun to pair it with well on warlock. I use it when I’m helping my friends and they’re struggling to stay alive. Otherwise it’s very average

Why use it? Better options. Hell, in rumble if you want a HC then TLW is ez mode even for my scrubby ass. I’m sure it will have its niche, just not yet.

Edited by RoninPhoenix650: 7/13/2019 6:36:58 AMIt was a great quest idea to give “the guardian” his own weapon like the ace of spades for cayde or last word for shin, but they really dropped the ball with the concept. In a game with this many ways to heal yourself or get healed AND natural regeneration we have zero need for a gun that plays at being a medic. Please don’t say “but damage buff”. You could just use a better gun and have more dps naturally and permanently. Personally, since we are the “hero” of, well everything, I would have gone with the noble rounds giving instant revives when shot at a ghost. That would be useful and prevented from being op by the already in place mechanic of not being able to be revived at all in certain situations. As in revive tokens or crucible.

1. you're on console. 2. it's not useful because randoms get farmed anyway. 3. rose is better. 4. why would I or anyone waste an exotic slot for this gun if I want to frag out 5. bad juju/pulse rifles are easy mode so of course you'll see them more

It's because console has bloom which gives every handcannon that isn't a 180rpm rng bullets. If bungie removes bloom then it can be useful, but with bloom it's just another collector's exotic (looking at you Aeon armor).

One is naturally useful One you have to go out of your way and play only one class to be semi-useful. It's why I have no desire to go for Lumina it's another useless exotic.

I run lumina but after seeing how better rose is I had to switch lumina would be a God pve gun if it stacked with other buffs

I'll grind for it when I get home but it won't replace my Crimils Dagger with snapshot sights and explosive payload. That thing is far more powerful... It creates orbs on kills for a start.

Edited by Mini: 7/13/2019 10:36:55 AMUpon finishing the mission that changed my Rose into Lumina, in the 30 seconds before the strike ended I shot the remaining crystals about the place, and to me it felt terrible and missed when it definitely shouldn't have. It went straight into the vault. Its exotic trait sounds cool, but not cool enough for how awful to use it felt to me.

No catalyst no use. Exotics that dont poop out orbs of light. Especially a primary are no use in PVE
