Why do many of you guys not raid and avoid it like the plague, I even see some of you saying bungie shouldnt make the content simply because a lot of players dont play it. Why dont you try raiding? This isnt to attack people who dont or to attack casual players, as someone who plays this game for raiding I am just curious as to why some dont like them?
Edit: So most of you seem the think raiders are all toxic, its just not the case, some of you see someone post KWTD and think they are toxic when in reality KWTD means watch a video and have an idea of whats going on and we can help you from there.
Most raiders will help you if you ask and are willing to learn. If you dont like current LFGs that are up make your own. I cleared CoS by joining a raid team that was just NA CoS Fresh 730+, a handful of people didnt know what to do and the rest of the team taught them and we cleared it.
If you want you can also wait and look for Sherpas, they are more rare but they exist to help you, I commonly post Levi sherpas or join people who post that its their first time. When you are upfront about being new and wanting to learn, the non toxic helpful people will come to you.
Some of you said its complicated, its not, its a challenge and you have to be willing to lean it but its not at all over complicated.
Theres lots of valid reasons posted but just assuming every raider is toxic is not a valid one because its just not true.
Edit 2: A good suggestion made by logan678910 65 is to have a casual and hardcore raiding section for LFG, that would honestly be a great thing because then all those who think youll get toxic hardcore players can know that anyone joining your lfg in the casual section is also just wanting to have fun.
Edit 3: If you think LFG is so toxic, post your own lfg, its not hard, ask for sherpas, ask for help, make it clear you want to be taught, otherwise you just look like you are trying to get carried. There are plenty of sherpas if you are just patient.
Edit 4: If you are on PC and you want to raid and be shown it is in fact not toxic and that there are people who will teach you then add me Zoe41#1700. I will gladly teach anyone who is willing to learn, I wont carry you so dont come expecting me to do that, you are going to have to learn.

Edited by Niinja Slayer: 6/17/2019 3:11:17 AMI either don’t have time And/OR don’t like the raid gear/ I’m satisfied with the non raid gear and it’s not worth my effort to grind even more for raid gear with the rolls I want. This isn’t D1 raid armor or weapons we are talking about, its D2, very different
-
Most don't raid because they are bad and can't multitask. A lot don't because they can't just slide shotgun every encounter with drb or retold.
-
For me it boils down to two things. First, Bungie seems to need to make the mechanics so undesirable ridiculous and second, the rewards just don’t seem that good. I think the thought process is after D1, how can we make the raids more complex? I am not sure that brings more people in or excludes more people.
-
I don't because lack of decent gear at current light but as soon as I get there I'll LFG the crap out of all of them
-
Blame bungle for murdering lfg. You used to be able to further detail the environment you're looking for beyond the post title. Now we just have "kwtd" and it could mean have an idea, or it could mean be sweaty and know all the cheeses and dps spots without being told.
-
1 ReplyJust know this: When raiding with slightly inebriated Russians and one claims he wrestled a bear and won, he's talking about a Koala.
-
I’ve haven’t raided since D1, I guess I’ve completed a raid lair with some friends, but LFG makes finding a raid group for a first timer pretty difficult.
-
A lot of people find raids too difficult and not rewarding for the level of difficulty they have. This is especially true in Destiny 2, where raids are more complex than in Destiny 1 and not a single destiny 2 raid has every weapon type in it's loot pool, causing some players whose favorite weapons are not included to skip out of the raid altogether.
-
Mostly time and people. Friends/Clan is either busy or unavailable.
-
Well here are my reasons 1. I don't like talking on my mic when other people are in the house, it feels weird and I get the nagging feeling that everyone around me is judging me 2. I'd rather do the raid when I'm over leveled and have absolutely everything memorized from a Dato video Honestly raids can be very fun, I get to meet different people and have a peek into their life and way of thinking. Some of the best moments I've ever had in gaming was during a raid with a hilarious team, to this day barf baby's and Aksis-cito are the fondest memories I've ever had. Oh yeah... I also only join teams who are on the final checkpoint. Look man I don't got time for all dat! I've killed Calus so many times but not once have I ever done gauntlet/dogs/baths etc.
-
Being able to claim rewards only once a week, per character sucks for sure.
-
1 ReplyI don't like revive tokens and to be honest, there's no point. There aren't any decent "must have", weapons or armour in the raids.
-
I only say KWTD and be at 735+ ebut if they start to take control of the raid I'll tell him he's wrong etc. But if they msg me asking to join if they don't have anyone I'll inv them. I just don't want to see people say they know how the raid works and be at 707 light
-
I don't raid often because lfg is a pain in the ass. I don't need Tarrabah all that much and I got 1k on my third run. Raids are meaningless for me now.
-
1 ReplyI understand your points and they are totally valid. But, in reality it won't happen. There will always be a division between the D1 and D2 raiders. It is a totally different group of people. I wish it where not that way, but everyone...and even in menagerie now is looking for the quickest and fastest way possible to get the endgame done. It was not like that in D1. It is really unfortunate to spend vast amounts of resources on a product that the very high majority will never see.
-
Main reason is that the game is complete ass at getting groups together. Bungie knows this and are expressing interest in making it better. However if guided games is any indication of that then I have my doubts. Add to that their complacency in relying on things outside of the game and I'm going to have to say they aren't actually concerned until they actually prove otherwise. Another is the general player you run into is either close minded, impatient, and or just incapable of playing. Even better when they carry all of these traits. Raids being more cryptic, and harsh towards death makes this even worse. Another issue is execution is hardly a factor in raids. It's about figuring them out and surviving long enough to finish it. People asking for you to know what to do and to look it up if not is proof enough of this issue. That means that raids are mostly boring and furthermore samey anyway.
-
Cause its boring and every encounter has a ridiculous reliance on mechanics
-
(I Raid semi frequently just contributing my two cents) Raids for me are really fun after that initial learning period were you have to get A. Friends and clan mates to teach you or B. Lfg for hours trying to find a team to carry you and even then they’ll put you on ads usually so no big experience. Doing new raids for me is mandatory to happen in the first 1/3 of a season after that it’s a struggle to find people to help newbies.

Not have some general idea. Just sayin

I have done the raids in D1 and did Leviathan and EoW Lair at least once each, a few were done a couple times. I stopped bothering though because frankly they just were not fun to me. They just feel like pointlessly tedious time sucks. Plus I have yet to see any gear that makes it seem like it would be worth the effort.
-
Because I have to go through LFG
-
I haven’t seen any gear worth raiding for in D2. Maybe CoS will have something, but it probably would’ve drawn attention by now. There just isn’t a point anymore.
-
D1 with my Clan and ppl I actually knew and gave a damm about, Yes, but raiding with ppl I don't know, listening to them run off at the mouth about things I don't care about, and getting nothing of real value, and the time investment D2 raiding it's a Looser to me.
-
5 RepliesIt’s likely a couple bad LFG experiences, or reading a few bad LFG experiences. People come here to complain about their experiences, not brag about how they got Sherpa’d or how much some newbies co-operated. Overall I recommend anyone should try raiding, but I won’t brute-force say DO IT.
-
Edited by Kanashimi510: 6/17/2019 12:07:58 AMThe fun factor in raids isn't equal to the amount of effort and time involved. If it was, you would see an extremely different mindset/attitude in lfg.
-
I used to raid a lot in D1. After a while, scheduling, people not showing up, getting pugs that kept us at an encounter for hours longer than necessary killed it for me. Haven’t touched a raid again since my last WotM. It just got mentally exhausting.
