Idk, just feels scummy that they are giving that much content for free, and giving new people the options we wanted when the content first came out.

How? Stuff devalues over time. -
It's ok in my book and it gives the playerbase some new blood also

6 RepliesEdited by Kalcypher: 6/13/2019 8:15:08 PMIt is no different than spending money at a movie theater, only to have the movie play for “free” on tv two years later. New Light players will have D2 Y1 content for free plus a little extra like Gambit. They still need to pay for Forsaken, Shadowkeep, and the Annual Pass(es).

Old content is just that. Old content. You wanna get new blood in the game? Step 1: Provide the old content free of charge to get potential players invested. Step 2: Once invested then Forsaken, Annual Pass cost money. Seems like a good way to liven up a stale game prior to the September expansion.
Idk, just feels scummy that they are giving that much content for free, and giving new people the options we wanted when the content first came out.
To be fair though, they had 15 million players when D2 launched, and pushed a huge chunk of those players away. Since then, they have barely been able to keep the barely over 400,000 they currently have. From a business standpoint, I'd want to do whatever it took to gain back those players. Personally, I think it's a huge step in the right direction for Bungie, and their way of saying sorry for the bullshit. Now, of course I'm not holding my breathe on this, since they are good at over hyping and under delivering, but this is a great thing they're doing.

4 RepliesThats all old content though and it's not like year one had a whole lot of content to begin with anyway you get 2 campaigns, 2 patrols with the adventures, 4 strikes, the 2 raid lairs, the what 3-7 exotic quests and whatever crucible maps were added. The free version just adds gambit and all patrols to the mix and that's all the free players get in terms of content not from year one so no forsaken story or raid (maybe shattered throne and weekly petra bounties) or annual pass content I assume this also applies to exotic quests for forsaken and annual pass as well.

3 RepliesEdited by Andy-ALAW BEEP-BEEP: 6/13/2019 10:35:02 AMHow is it snakey They couldn’t do it before because of Activision now they are on there own they can do what they want Hopefully they will bring it an entitled seal for people like you

Not saying this makes me 100% happy. Though if it brings back old players and new players, well that would help this game out a lot. MM would be in a better state, less time to wait. More people to do things with is always helpful. Also if more enjoy the free content, than more people will spending. More money for them could mean more frequent updates like strikes and maps for us.

7 RepliesI agree with you. Things that kind nerfed would have impact the new raid. However, nerfing the 180 RPM of luna's howl/not forgotten has opened up for everyone to be using snipers like those found in CoD. It's ridiculous for body shot snipers to do more damage than what the 180 RPM made a real difference. Very sad on how this series declined started when Destiny 2 launched. Just hoping things will get better but won't.

Doesn't bother me much. Hopefully it'll help bring some new people in.

1 ReplyWith player base dwindling this is ingenious idea...more players, less matchmaking times, n can play with friends or solo on all platforms....if they deliver in sept....the play can be endless....n ya we paid more but that's how it goes

1 ReplyIs it also, "snakey," for stores that sell video games, to eventually drop the selling price?
