Buy it day one at the earliest. This is my suggestion. Bungo Stray Dogs are good at marketing and making us want shit. But that's all it usually has been: shit. Do not pre order. Wait till week 2 once people have a feel for what the dlc actually is. And by people, I mean streamers and the YouTubers.

1 ReplyRemember how good Forsaken was? Definitely preordering.

The fact that this has zero upvotes is worrying.

I'll buy it a week or two before it releases as I usually do so I'm ready to play on day one.

45 RepliesEdited by PrinceSousuke: 6/9/2019 6:00:28 AMOk, idiot, allow me to educate you. Bungie was never in charge of marketing and release schedules until the final AP pack was released. Activision forced Bungie to put everything in bundles. Activision decided what to release, when, and how for everything. Now Bungie is their own publisher and can release whatever they want. I have seen many people who wanted the Moon and Eris Morn to return. Bungie started development back in January when the split was announced, they had to wait until Activision was truly out of the picture to announce SotU's expansion. Bungie is listening, but Activision tried to keep bungie from fulfilling community requests. Stop being an jerk to the NOW self-publishing company. Deleting the "Activision Good" fantasy: "What does a Game Publisher do? A Game Publisher finances a video game’s development, handles the marketing and release of the game, and gets the returns on its sales. When you’re a Game Publisher, the games you publish can be made by an in-house staff or external Game Developers, but either way your responsibilities stay the same: You manage the business end of the gaming field. Your daily duties as a Game Publisher could include negotiating distribution deals, designing advertising campaigns, conducting market research, and clearing any licensing issues a game has. You also weigh in on the creative decisions made in the game development process. A lot of times this causes tension between you, who has a focus on market appeal, and the Game Developers, who want artistic freedom. But you write the paychecks, so your say in creative decisions usually wins out. Developers might resent this heavy-handed control, but it is very difficult to develop on a large scale without working with you. For though video gaming started out as a fairly accessible field, the increase in computer power and graphics has scaled up the man power and resources needed to produce a video game. This creates cost barriers to making it big in the mainstream market, so if Developers want their game to be a best-seller they need your resources to sustain and market their product."

This is really good advice if you feel you have been let down with previous dlc, what did we actually see of the shadowskeep?. Bungie and most game developers are good at just saying enough to then make your imagination fill in the rest and ultimately getting yourself hyped for what the game can be. On the other side of the fence some people like myself have always seen value in the price of dlc (some more than others), and the amount of enjoyment of had from it. Just a new raid alone offers me enough content for the money in my opinion. For people that feel that way I see no reason why not to pre-order Shodowskeep even with the little we know about it.

18 RepliesEdited by Eververse: 6/7/2019 8:14:54 AMI already pre ordered
BL3
LEL I love how two week ago Eeeeeeeeeveryone was shitting on bungie. Now it "Ill pre order if I want", "love you bungie!", etc. You are why bungie feels they can half ass shit.
-
4 RepliesI'm about to go spend some money on Eververse right now. And I'm buying the collectors edition :) you can go play that other game that comes out in September.
-
2 RepliesDon't understand all the downvotes, this should be common sense for every single game released today, not just Destiny.
-
preorder Shadow's Keep
If you say so!
-
I probably won't pre-order, I'll wait till it goes on sale and pay what it's actually worth.
-
Agree. I bet all the people who are down voting this, pre-ordered Anthem.

1 ReplyEdited by Ricochet 049: 6/7/2019 6:26:20 AMI present pleasure to bungie’s genitals. I might whine and moan about it, but I am without doubt a -blam!- for their games. Ugh.... The “blam” was a word that starts with “Slu” and ends with a very hard and triggering “T”
-
Change post too ''Don't ever pre-order''
-
I am just confused as to the direction. Luke smith confirmed that the ending to vanilla D2 showed the locations of DLC in consecutive order. The moon was never shown to be touched by the traveller
-
Totally agree 😎👍 I was actually quite impressed with everything I saw in the vidoc and am 99% sure i will be making a purchase but will definitely not pre order... I'll wait a week or so after release to confirm the quality of the product... I've learnt my lesson... I will never pre order anything ever again after Fallout 76 😖

Edited by goats_dont_shave: 6/7/2019 11:25:49 AMThanks for the life advice Andy! 👍

I normally do, always used to. But this past month of nerfs, lackluster content and zero evidence of listening to players hurt. A lot. There’s still time to fix things, like the awesome TTK patch that changed weapon types in D2 Y1. I keep hope. But things really are bleak right now.

17 RepliesEdited by MohMan67: 6/7/2019 12:33:32 PMI have no idea why people still pre-order content from bungie. Thought they would’ve learned by now.
-
... Oops...
not included in the DLC
-
I would say the new dlc is going to be better but seeing how bungie handle their games make me want to quit. Also, something new and exiting are usually stuff they bring back from d1. I wonder why didn’t Bungie just remastered D1 and created something from that point, instead of create crap game and try to improve it by bringing something from D1.

Edited by darkfool7: 6/7/2019 3:35:16 PMYea... I dont know how people still fall for their trailers and vidocs, back then yea I agree, would make you buy it instantly... this last one, cant believe so far im the only one that noticed all the lies, "we are shaping in a new direction, thanks to the two way communication with our community".....(sees the forums and the poor responses of bungie... sure) "We are doing this stuff and it feel powerful, and we want you to feel that way"... (yet they nerfed most stuff after saying something similar on forsaken... so I know where this is going too)

1 ReplySorry everyone is being an ass hat in your replies. I personally bought the digital deluxe version of Shadowkeep. Yeah I’m frustrated as hell with Bungie and the constant nerfing and ignoring important community feedback, but I feel like I more than got my money’s worth with the last season pass. Though some of the content was lame as hell, I still love Destiny and always will. You’re right though, Bungie marketed Shadowkeep in a way that made me want to buy it immediately after the Vidoc. They are evolving and moving in a direction I personally think is awesome! I’ll just hope they can deliver.

4 RepliesIt's been my observation that when a game is taken the free to play route it's the last gasp of a dying game. Not buying anything from bungie ever again. They are great at hype and nothing else.
-
Bungie is great at marketing, I give them that. For me, I will be playing BL3 first, then maybe look into the expansion after its been out a couple weeks.
-
Good advice, that I didn't follow. Preordered digital deluxe. May not like all the content , but I play it all. The $30 I played for the annual pass was well worth it, even if some content was less than desirable. It cost more to fill a tank of gas.
-
1 ReplyI can’t. I’ll be playing BL3. Maybe later when they’re giving it away.
