Did a little SoO today and instead of previous years new campaigns to run, it's another season of...
Go to Nessus and kill Cabal. Now melee Vex. Now go run this lost sector.
People can say what they want about Curse of Osiris, but at least it was something new and different and I'd take that story over the nothing that exists in Y2 any day.
-
Your post should say going back to NOTHING.
-
CoO was the biggest pile of poo.. they need more end game things to do cause ultimately that's where you're heading. However, I do think the story needs to be explained more and not so cryptic.
-
Never ever I want to get something as bad as story in Osiris....
-
I love the Managerie but I agree so far. If this is all there is well with myself already experiencing poor armor drops I can see the shine rubbing off and quickly becoming annoying like 98% of D2.
-
4 RepliesLet’s put it this way, if you liked curse of Osiris you have very poor taste in video games
-
4 RepliesThey did say that the annual pass was for endgame. Story missions and strikes are not.
-
Gofor quests and Yet another horde mode each season... way to stick within the box Bungie.... how about thinking outside of it and coming up with some new endgame activties as advertised.
-
1 ReplyAnnual pass is trash, daily population figures dont lie.
-
Think I prefer it. The story based dlcs had some half arsed story missions which were pretty poor and the odd decent raid lair. While I wouldnt mind a new area and the odd strike thrown in I haven't actually minded the annual pass, probably just more my thing.
-
26 RepliesI would take the Menagerie and it's content over BOTH Curse of Osiris and Warmind... SorryNotSorry. I prefer replayability and story missions arent very replayable.
-
19 RepliesRemember year 2 of Destiny 1? I do, we had nothing that year. I'll take more endgame over that any day. That quest was stupid but it unlock more endgame and wasn't very long. Plus only need to do it on one character, way better than 6 story missions 3 times IMO.
-
My biggest gripe is having to grind lots of boring old content to even get started on new content. It isn’t fun. Just let me get into the new stuff. At least this season the stuff is account wide. I never unlocked the forges on other characters because the process was so incredibly boring. But yeah, I’ve been disappointed overall the the quality of the content. The quantity I probably expected for what we paid.

Destiny had way better gameplay and content imo. But in Destiny 2, they just seemed to take a big step back...again...as usual. Destiny was dry at launch but the DLCs were pretty cool. They just went wrong with reskinning everything and calling it new, and creating this business model where they psychologically manipulate their customers with what they think makes money in the short term. It's pretty obvious that they've taken content away on purpose, just to use the nostalgia factor for sales through a later DLC, content, or sequel. Has this not happened? In case anyone hasn't noticed this, since D1, weapons have had an invisible lifespan gauge on them. They will advertise a weapon for a DLC or whatever or bring one back, and it will be great, and then it will suck...conveniently just before the next DLC or whatever. Nerfs, buffs, DLC. They manipulate the flow of the game on a very dishonest level and honestly feel they know what they're doing. Remember faction vendors with rotation. Do you think they're having some kinda problem getting then function like they used to? No. More important vendors means a single vendor is not as needed...that vendor is called Eververse. The money model is more important than your satisfaction of the product. You're welcome. Bungie never really invested in itself and it shows. They had problems with rookie developers since launch and the art department never improved either... everything is a damnn reskin or something old 'brought forward'. It just shows that theyre full of incompetent people and kept them...and brought in some more. Something tells me one thing they probably invested in was into hiring a person "highly educated" in both business psychology and marketing. Activision dropped Bungie coincidentally when they were looking to drop dead weight, im pretty sure problems like these are why. They're getting obvious, it's showing and nobody wants to even be affiliated with it. You're all cabbage.

2 RepliesI respectfully disagree
-
It's sort of good and sort of bad
-
Curse of osiris was horrible. Story missions and useless strikes don't make a DLC.
-
Yeah because the story content of Destiny has always been so exciting. Go away, curse sucked.
-
This is an annual (endgame dlc) pass, not a season pass. Bungie stated from the very beginning that this dlc's contain primarily additional endgame content. Strikes, story missions and new non endgame items/activities are not part of the annual pass.
-
Dude all you would have had is 2 hours of story before you go patrol mercury and the infinite forest forever. The menagerie is really fun. We will see about it's longevity but to me that alone makes this release fun.
-
1 ReplyCoO was a slapped together poorly executed story line that should have gone straight to the garbage disposal with the switched flipped on while pouring lighter fluid in the hole and set on fire
-
I disagree. I've enjoyed the season pass cause there hasn't been any content droughts like with the old dlc release method.
-
1 ReplyI think they're starting to find a good balance. Jokers Wild finally pushed the story in the back half. Hopefully this one does the same soon. I'm glad they're doing a DLC with a huge focus on a raid and a new 6 man activity. I figured this one would be light anyways since they're gearing up for Y3. The biggest problem with Curse, is it was just a bad story. They ruined an enigmatic character we all wanted to see. If they balance it out a bit more next year, I think everything will be alright.

Edited by YonaRulz: 6/5/2019 6:34:57 AMYou realize D1 Y2 and Y3 had zero new content after their Sept releases? I would like more DLC content as well, but I'm happy that we aren't in the awful droughts of D1. This past season had more story and a more interesting story than CoO
-
I dropped out at the thought of season of reskinned gambit and haven't been back. Once I broke the habit of logging on, i haven't found any reason to go back and won't for the season of crapulence either.
-
5 RepliesDamn imagine if they made a story like rdr2 and god of war with deep characters and raw emotions
ik it’s bad to compare things
-
There is many players who feel the same, so I kinda hope Bungie listens to the feedback you guys give. I have thoroughly enjoyed the annual pass. But I do also miss those content drops. It's something they need to have additionally. I'm happy to pay more for an annual pass of they do so.
