Did a little SoO today and instead of previous years new campaigns to run, it's another season of...
Go to Nessus and kill Cabal. Now melee Vex. Now go run this lost sector.
People can say what they want about Curse of Osiris, but at least it was something new and different and I'd take that story over the nothing that exists in Y2 any day.

This season is the best out of the 3 but some new strikes and PvP maps would of been nice.
-
I would also like more story campaign

In some ways I agree, there is less of an obvious or overt story conveyed through campaign missions. However, what I am finding is that Bungie is getting much better about weaving a story into the game that is tied to the various new activities, zones, etc... It's a story that takes time to unearth and is only gradually revealed through the play of various activities, and on occasion through major community milestones, like when the Raid was first beaten in Forsaken, kicking off the curse cycle. Loved it. I think Bungie is also getting better about pulling out and exploring story threads - we are starting to feel the world coming together- we have Osiris and his story, we have Ana Bray and the Warmind, we have Mara Sov and her Brother, and we have the Drifter and the Nine. With Shadowkeep we'll revisit Eris and the moon. I dig it. All of these threads advanced various bits of the universe and the plots of their respective characters. The challenge for Bungie is going to be to begin funneling this into the larger endgame narrative at some point down the road...

26 RepliesEdited by Pord: 6/5/2019 7:20:30 PMI mean if you think about it back in D1 there was literally no new content around this time. So I’ll take this over that any day
-
44 RepliesI'd take the menagerie and 2 raids over 5 boring ass story missions that use the same assets, aren't replayable, have terrible rewards, terrible characters, and a "patrol zone" that you can toss a grenade from one end to the other
-
4 RepliesWhat the season pass lack is just the campaign missions. As far as content and lore/story goes, I think it had been outstanding. Don't get me wrong, I love campaign missions, but the replay value of campaign is very minimum. And i think Bungie knew this, that's why they took the concept of seasons. They skip introductory content and goes straight to extend end game activities. Should there'll be new season pass in the future, if one or two of the seasons have campaign, I think it will be very happy.

I remember D1 during the same time of its life cycle... it was exceptionally dull with people taking literal months away from it until some content came out (July update) or the following expansion (RoI) I dont mind the annual pass it has kept me interested in destiny 2 longer.

4 RepliesWhen I think of DLC's I think in terms of Expansions: Taken King and Foresaken (maybe even Rise of Iron). There were IMO great additions and I believe most would like to have these every 3 to 6 months. Unless I'm mistaken this has never happened. I'm not sure if it's possible (production/ budget wise) even with all our complaining. Expansions take 9 months to 12 months if I'm not mistaken. What most people don't enjoy are previous DLC's: Curse of Osiris and Dark Below. And even though as a fan I did enjoy them - they got stale real fast for most. My impression of the Annual Pass is that this is supposed to be the filler in between Expansions and DLC's - something to do for 3 months while we wait. Is it a perfect system? Nope, personally I liked Black Armory more than Season of the Drifter due to the Gambit Focus - but both were better than replaying Curse of Osiris until Warmind Dropped. I think the Annual Pass needs work but is a step in the right direction. DLC's feel like they work better if they have more size like Warmind, anything less is pointless.

3 RepliesWhat you need to understand is the annual pass was endgame content not a comet DLC like forsaken, taken king or what shadowkeep looks like The comet dlcs are the story, the annual pass was the stop the drought that D1 was absolutely littered with.

The "fetch" mechanism is getting pretty annoying. I wouldn't mind it if it incorporated the story into it. Fetch this to learn who, what, why and how the loyal went mad. At least try to trick me.

1 ReplyThere's hella leaks out right now one of them is the base game being free to play

16 RepliesAfter Forsaken, there is no point in getting the Annual Pass. Do not waste your money on that scam pass. It’s dead. The only thing to do is wait for D3. All they do is bring back popular weapons from D1 (which should’ve been there from the start, but since they’re bring them back they lied to us because at the beginning of D2 they said they wanted a fresh start) add re-skins, same missions but different directions to go and re skin enemies. Maybe “some new stuff” I don’t know. This is just to keep you going until the next release, which I won’t buy unless it’s a game changer. It should’ve honestly been free. You’re literally and I kid you not, you’re literally paying money for stuff you’ve already have before. Ex. The Last Word and Thorn. Stuff that was in D1 and don’t say it’s a different game because it’s not. Your stuff was sent to D2. They’ve had many years to fix themselves. But I guess not. So sad seeing a game I love before became this way. Anyway, unless you got it as a gift, do not even think about spending a dime on it. (I mean it’s up to you, it’s your money of course.) But Bungie‘s a business, seems to me quality is minuscule, while profit is looked into more. Cheers.

at least you have things like annual pass and stuff... i dont even have enough money to buy annual pass and im already disappointed that i have to pay for shadow keep too.... oof.. we have to pay a lot honestly and i think destiny is over for me becuase of these contents that HAS to be paid for...

4 RepliesThe Menagerie is good but not $35 good. I know some folks like grindy activities like Forges and Gambit, but I sure don't. Rumor has it that D2 Y3 will have a la carte season passes in addition to the Annual Pass. That solves the value problem. The content problem is tricky. Most players don't spend a lot of time in compaign missions. I think activities like the Menagerie or the old Challenge of Elders can work as a substitute for missions, but they need to come often and refresh often. Also, where are sparrow races?

Edited by SpacemanSpff434: 6/7/2019 12:49:35 AMI think if they could mix the two, and I’d pay, this game would be off the charts. After disliking the lack of stories in season passes I’ve gained an appreciation for actual things to do that dlcs lacked once the story ended.

25 RepliesDude it was literally like 20 mins of the first story mission calm the -blam!- down. And it was to introduce you to the chalice and its mechanics. You people are so insanely spoiled and entitled that it's actually toxic to look at your threads. These threads are so toxic with entitlement that it makes me physically sick. Dear God. You did 20 mins of campaign stuff and the rest of the day you had to do DLC stuff. How much more could you possibly want. Day 1 raid, day 1 activity (AND IT MATCHMAKES FOR YOU FILTHY CASUAL PLAYERS), day 1 DLC rewards. Pinnacles to chase, new STUFF TO DO ON DAY 1. All you had to do is spend 20 mins doing a few menial tasks. Cannot believe 252 other people upvoted this shit post. It is literally unbelievable.

If the treasure maps led us to new loot I would be down for it. But making us walk to a nice chest that gives old gear is just a kick in the balls. At least the menagerie itself is pretty fun.
-
Going off from the title. I believe this year has been a letdown from the exclusivity signing, limiting potential. I want to believe that Shadowkeep will be worth looking into now Activision has broken off and now these talks of cross-saving. I will be watching this next expansion closely. If things fall apart again, there's always Borderlands 3 and whatever other fall games releasing this year.

Bungie has heard your plight
-
2 RepliesI'm super for new story, but not as it currently is. Right now the story is so awful they'd be better off without it to be honest. I think they would actually need to overhaul the story pretty hard to warrant devoting what dev time they have left to storytelling before this game reaches critical. Just came back to the game and got to the dreaming city, this kind of stuff is closer to what is a valid short term goal for now. The whole new loot and new stuff to do section of things. Want the story, too, but that must come later, it's like having multiple wounds, you gotta handle the one by the artery first.
-
6 RepliesI guess you never plaayed D1? Its the same format here bud.
-
It's not that bad, yeah drifter could have had more content but at the same time it still does give extra content, besides they are doing this to buy sometimes while they are making ACTUAL dlcs, so
-
1 ReplyFor me personally it isn't the story or the lack there of that's the problem. We haven't had a new strike since forsaken and pvp maps since they dropped 3 of the worst maps currently in rotation. If they had dropped a new strike and 2 maps each season i think overall there would be less people complaining
-
This guy said story missions. Lul. Ppl really want to just be a -blam!-!!!
-
5 RepliesMost players agree this is a terrible start to the new season. Bungie is in the toilet as far as Im concerned.
