After the server maintenance today one of my kids discovered that his Destiny 2 account has been banned. I have 3 Destiny 2 accounts - one for me, and one for each of my kids, and we play together.
I am bitterly dissapointed, that one of my kid's accounts has been banned without any indication of reason or possibility to appeal. This is not a free to play game. I have paid money to play it, for myself and for the kids. Arbitrary denial of service without any explanation or possibility to review or rectify the issue if any is a robbery.
Unless this is clarified, I will consider myself mistreated and will make no further purchases from Bungie.
Best Regards,
Alexei.

2 RepliesTypically, pc bans are due to software detected by Destiny 2 while running. These include but not limited to, trainers, aimbots, auto-fire, mods, graphics hacks, anything that injects code into games, debuggers for programing, even some viruses. any of these could cause a ban, even if not destiny 2 specific. Regardless of your feelings on the matter the policy is clear. Bungie does not discuss restrictions or bans. Restrictions are temporary, and will not be overturned or undone before they expire. Once an account is banned however, that ban is permanent. Account restrictions and bans are only done in extreme cases; if actions were taken against your account, then it was with reason. There are NO options to dispute or overturn account restrictions or bans. Bans are lifetime for that account https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929 https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/47715 *I am not a Bungie representative, just a player trying to give the answers that are available.

Edited by ThisIsMyBung1eAccount: 5/31/2019 6:26:40 AMAs others have explained, you agreed to a EULA. Contrary to what you replied, this is not just a block of text designed to confuse you; it is in fact a legal contract setting out all the terms and rules of use of the program (no copying/redistributing, the usual product laws). You should at least try to read some of it. You’d be amazed how much sense it makes. Bans have reasons behind them. The ban was placed manually by a Bungie employee, after the game detected software on your child’s account and flagged it, and said employee confirmed that the flag was indeed justified. Either that, or your child has been reported multiple times over an extended period, had their actions investigated, and deemed to be cheating through network manipulation or some other offence. You most likely won’t want to believe either option, but these are the only reasons why account bans are put in place. Bungie has no obligation to tell you why, especially if you have no option to appeal. When morality comes into question, I say this: If they answered everyone, how much time would be wasted sorting out who’s lying about their bans and who’s genuine? Couldn’t that time be spent finding other cheaters? Not knowing is not morally ideal, but it makes the moderation team more effective. You’re going to disagree with that, but that is a fact. I’m sure there are other reasons but for now that’s all I’ve got. This is not robbery. In any way. You want to play? You play by Bungie’s rules.

5 RepliesBye. You people won't be missed.
BANS are permanent RESTRICTIONS start at 2weeks+ and can extend to 2months+ They can be extended without any notification. Usually due to the severity of multiple reports overtime. In-game SUSPENSIONS are only 30-60mins They WILL NOT respond or message you. They WILL NOT tell why a punishment was issued. They don't have to. They don't care. There is no course of action to appeal any punishment issued. They will not remove any punishment issued for any reason. They've had this no tolerance policy since Day 1 of D1. It won't change anytime soon. The reasons most ppl have a punishment issued to them is: For some form of cheating (ddossing). Playing with cheaters (paying for a carry, sharing account info, or staying in a lobby with a cheater for too long and benefiting from their illegal actions). Or having consistently terrible internet connection that it affects OTHERS players and not just yourself. For most PC tagalongs: they are banned because SOMETHING installed on your PC was viewed as a POTENTIAL threat to D2 and those are promptly banned. The process for BANS and RESTRICTIONS involve reports coming in from players or their flag system towards an individual. The Bungie monkey at HQ reviews it. And they decide if it was warranted or not.
21 Replies1. It’s not robbery. It is something that you/I/the kids/others agreed to happen by accepting the EULA before playing. 2. What is his account name? 3. Name all programs that he had running over the past 2 days while he was playing D2.
