Did pvp player feedback ruin Destiny 2?

PvP players have always ruined destiny because bungie cow Taos to them. When the majority of the game is team effort they Taylor everything to those whinny lil brats. For the next year they should just ignore everything said by. PvP players and start listening to there larger player base for a good change

15 RepliesNo, what ruined destiny 2 was bungie thinking we wanted these huge sweeping changes to the game when really everyone just wanted balance and qol changes. I don’t think any pvp player wants to see a weapon ruined for pve at the expense of balance for pvp. Bungie s inability to balance both separately has driven a hoards of players away. Nobody asked for a two primary system( though I will say that I think the current set up is better than it was in d1), nobody asked for int/dis/str to go away, nobody asked zero customization with the skill trees, nobody asked for a 4v4 crucible everywhere. I know a lot of these points are only valid for d2 at launch, and are no longer applicable, but the fact remains that it drove people away. That’s what ruined the game. Bungie ripping up a system that was working really well for the majority of players and starting over fresh. Not pvp players.

They moved away from the looter shooter aspect with static rolls. They moved away from the power fantasy with balance. In Vanilla D2 I can’t remember much of if any lore or things like dead ghosts. Even bragging rites were taken away because with Clans you don’t need to do the Raids to get the loot. This wasn’t a PVE Vs PVP problem this was a genre Vs genre thing and they basically ignored all D1’s genres and focused heavily on the First Person Shooter aspect thinking the minute to minute game play would be enough to keep players playing. It wasn’t and D2 was found to be a empty shell of a game.

No, IMO it was Destiny getting rebooted halfway through development in early 2016 .Along with the change of directors during that time.

No, of course not. I have seen a ton of elitist PVE players who have also called for nerf this buff that. Get on LFG and see all the stupid post for a raid team, "must know what your doing, must have so many clears, must have this gun etc. For the record I play both, well balanced and have been since D1. I have seen tons to PVE whining. That whining caused the creation of year 1 D2 ( and year sucked bad)...not PVP whining. Bungie has seperated balance tuning now so its different in PVE and PVP (finally) so to say a single game mode has destroy a game is very shallow thinking and a very short memory.

Sadly people constantly complaining that the game isn’t CoD with a 0.6 second ttk got their wish and now we’re stuck with this garbage. So that aspect of the game is ruined. But ruin destiny 2 as a whole? Nah don’t think so.

Listening to average or below players that yell really loud in large groups (because, statistically they are the majority) is a death sentance for any pvp experience (I don't play PvE so I can't comment on that)

Destiny isn’t “Ruined”. At least, not for me. The beauty of Destiny is if you get tired of one activity, there are a bunch of others to do.

Well yeah but also no you have bad PvP players Calling for nerfs on Luna and jøttun two strong weapons but not op meanwhile good players will only call nerfs when there's an actual problem (see novawarp) anybody can get Luna with enough determination so it isn't a case not the weapon being unfair (this season is extremely easy in comp) however still they call for nerfs when they don't have it even NF isn't that much better than Luna if you close the gap you have a good chance of winning and any weapon can defeat Luna and NF except scouts scouts still suck
