My Destiny 2 on PC loads up (the actual loading screen into the game) showing 'Destiny 2 Forsaken', and yet I havent purchased the Forsaken DLC......so......................

...I need to know if Forsaken DLC is now a free upgrade because if it isnt, then this is ADVERTISING whilst during a loading screen without even stating or indicating that it is advertising, which cannot be allowed. My 2 sons have been so excited for these last 2 weeks since this screen has been showing (they are very young and even at that age they can tell the difference between a loading screen and a clickable advert...), and if indeed this is just an advert or an incorrectly showing loading screen, then I want this to be honored that I do indeed own Forsaken, because otherwise my 2 sons have been fooled into thinking we "had Forsaken and now lost it" if it ever reverts back to the "base game". I have recorded a clear 4k desktop capture showing the loading of the game, and 'Destiny 2 Forsaken' shows as the name of the game that is loading, rather than showing Forsaken as 'available right now, please click here for more info!' etc etc on the main menu, and if indeed its a glitch and Forsaken is not really available for me (folder size last year was 50gb, its now 90gb or so, this of course means the Forsaken data is installed already), then I wont be very happy, as it is falsely giving customers and their children false knowledge of just what versions of games they own. So I need a method to upload a segment or the whole of this desktop capture. I will post to YouTube if needs be.

  • Your size of your game has gone up because more has been added to the game yes. But you do not own the license to access to that content. This game is a Live Services game not a true DLC game and insomuch you have to possess all relevant licenses to access relevant content. It is not false advertisement, it is not deceiving, it is literally you not understanding or caring to understand how the game works. Take it to YT, Take it to Twitter, Take it to the President ... it ain't changing that unless you buy the license, you ain't playing the content.

  • Destiny 2 is in year two otherwise known as the Forsaken era. Destiny as a franchise has typcialy marked it's years with major title changes. For example Destiny 1 was Destiny, Destiny the Taken King and Destiny Rise of Iron with the title changes being placed for all users regardless of dlc purchase. I am sorry if your children are too young to understand the difference, but it is upon you as the parent to explain to them what you bought them. There are reasons the game is rated T for teen.

    • The Destiny 2 game is always kept up to date, due to it being a live service. When new expansions come out, everyone downloads the content. If you don't have a license for the new content you can't access the new content. Simple as that. What you had access to before new content is still there and available to you. With the release of Forsaken 6 months ago, the title screen changed to what we have now for everyone.
