Unimpressed with two weapons I just aquired
The arbalest and oxygen.
The oxygen for a pennical stinks and still brings no life back to scout rifles. The effect it has is less the impressive even after adding a dragonfly spec. It still takes two shots to kill a red bar shank and vandal.
Was really hoping fore something to breath life back into scout rifles. Sadly though I think hand cannons are the only weapons the devs want to use.
Arbalest is a rather unique take on fusions. Being the only kinetic one. But take away it's unique ability triple it's fire rate and guess what you have. The pennical scout rifle we all want.
I will not be investing anymore in this game. It is stale and monotonous. It caters to one thing only. Has no balanced weapons play. Shotgun hand cannon yaaaaa. Has no viable infusing and masterwork system. Unless you spend more time on here than you do at a REAL job. Match making that now is based on rank in comp. But doesn't mean crap unless you turn off the reset option. Tier one has all the top tier resets in it. Great job didn't solve anything there.
Seems to me the only thing getting fixed is cosmetics.
And bungie can't seem to figure out from the forums what it would take to get player count back up.
Edit: Don't get me wrong. The arbalest is an ok exotic. Busy less it's exotic perks it can be a scout rifle that actually works.

I actually like Arbalest a lot. It's sort of like No Land Beyond from D1. Oxygen isn't the greatest, because scout rifles kind of suck in PvE. I just infused it into Recluse.

7 RepliesOxygen is meh arbalest is nice more ammo though would be nice if ammo finder perks would actually work. I run 3 heavy finder perks and barley notice it. I usually get 3 bricks in a strike without heavyweight on as well.

The only problem with Oxygen is that it is has firefly as a perk and it’s unique perk only buffs another perk. Meganeura should have firefly intrinsic to it, and replace firefly with triple tap. I don’t know why you think it should one shot a vandal. It shouldn’t. As far as Arbalest goes, I assume you’re talking about PvE as it’s a beast in pvp.

3 RepliesJust give us a 150RPM Void HC with Drop Mag, Rampage and Dragonfly Bungie. Yes I know Trust can roll Dragonfly/Rampage but Trust is a 180 and 140s/150s > 180s in PvE

17 RepliesI don't have Arbalest, but I do have Oxygen. Your expectations are the problem. Bungie is never going to allow you do one shot trash mobs with a medium fire, 180 RPM scout rifle. These weapons have never done that, and it would make the game sort of ridiculous if they did. The Oxygen is a pinnacle weapon because its a precision weapon that is very powerful and very effective at CROWD CONTROL. The pinnacle perk rewards repeated precision shots with greater damage, and dragonfly spec doubles down on this. In the strike agains the Fanatic, the weapon just WRECKS the trash mob waves. You kill one enemy and the explosion can take two or three additional ones with it. Hand Cannons hit harder because they fire slower, have less ammo, and less range. The reason why SRs struggle in PVE in Destiny 2 is because all the content is set up so that most fights happen in the optimal range of hand cannons and ARs, because everything aggressively rushes you. There are few opportunities in Destiny 2 where you can stand off at range, and chip away at an enemy with a SR like you could in D1....and with everything rushing you and INSIDE of the reach of SRs, they feel weak. But SRs don't need a buff. They just need more content suited to their use.

16 RepliesYou would be wrong about both. Run them both in Gambit against ads and guardians on invasions. Learn how to use them. Oxygen with the Dragonfly Mod from the Black Armory makes it one of the most deadly scout rifles in the game.

You have plenty of options besides shotgun/cannon, including many pulse rifles, fusions, smgs like recluse and scouts like polaris lance and jade rabbit 3. Unless you spam cores on infusion you should have plenty, if you're infusing every +3 light you get then yeah it's on you for not managing resources 4. Comp ranks are reset at the beginning of each new season ONLY. There is no way to reset rank after that, the "tier one" players you claim you match are more then likely far from it

3 RepliesBoth weapons are super strong. Oxygen SR3 is the best scout out there. Dragonfly spec and 3xMeganeura stack creates explosion damage around 3xprecision damage. On elites its 6xtimes because its white dmg. And the 180 rpm is on purpose. 2 precision hit kills just mean u just get stronger explosion after meganeura stack. I have precision weapon targeting and unflinching rifle perks and the weapon feels super good on PS4. Dont know how it feels on PC where even autorifles act like precision laser weapons and weapon perks are quite useless. Both armor perks work with arbalest too and i was using it today and it felt quite OP. Just with the fact that it has 17 special ammo it kills all linear fusion on spot for me. And special ammo drops so often. It overpenetrate targets like linear fusions. If i shoot the corrupted egg it makes 2 immune hits. U can maybe even hit the same target 2 times.

Oxygen is alright, it feels good for a scout but could’ve been more unique Arbalest feels rather powerful, slightly annoying that it can’t one shot shielded minors (or I just haven’t hit the head if it’s able to) but it’ll chew through shielded majors/mini bosses, even unsheilded get melted by it. Personally I like it feels like jotunn the sniper

Even in any pve activity the crucible pinnacle weapons are more useful than the vanguard pinnacle weapons.

2 RepliesCreo que deberian mejorar el daño de ciertos exploradores en pve. Respecto a la arbalesta, creo que es un buen arma pero me apasado mas de una vez que a distancias largas me matan muy rapido con la jotgun y pienso que este arma quiza deberia ser un poco estabilizada, no nerfeada, el jotgun me encanta tanto en pve como en pvp pero en ocasiones es surrealista la velocidad y la facilidad que tiene para matarte, creo que el proyectil debería perder un poco de seguimiento a cierta distancia.
