Do you want enhancement cores removed from infusion?

Yes

2285

No

249

Just provide more sources

544

Don’t care

261

Just curious Edit: It was pointed out to me that I should be more specific. I mean enhancement cores removed from infusion, not everything Edit 2: just wanted to clarify, I am not for enhancement cores being removed from infusion. I really don’t care, I have plenty enough for my needs. I was just curious how many people were like me, and how many people really wanted them removed

  • I took a break about 10 days ago (you can check),today I saw an update for Destiny 2 was available and since past April updates have added a fair amount to the games I thought I'd give it a shot. I checked my inventory and saw I had no cores, I checked to see if cores were still used for infusion, then I logged off. I have zero interest in chasing cores.

    • Due to community feedback and to make polling more impactful it will now cost 100 cores to post a poll. Love, Bungie

      • Bigger question is how many just gave up playing d2 because the progression and cores was just tedious. Won't be reflected in polls or forum and in game poll would only get responses from those still signing in. I check the forum occasionally to see if improvements have been made but suspect a lot have quit and never looked back.

I want them out of Infusion. It took me 2 weeks get my average power to 690 from 660. I refuse to equip garbage that scores against my needs and makes my Titan an ugly SoB. I held onto the powerful gear, just never used it. Sometimes I just equiped the garbage just to see how far my gear will level

        • Frankly? I was annoyed at first. But now the Glimmer requirement and Planetary Resource requirement is what's killing me. I seem to always require the same 3 things, MICROPAHSIC DATALATTICE, Alkane Dust and Dusk Shards. Never anything else except very, very rarely. I can get like 6 a day of masterwork cores from grinding. Or jump on spider and have 6 in an hour. But the fact we can still ONLY HOLD 100K GLIMMER (WHY?!) and require like what. 25 resources a POP? See if no one ever had to go out and get resources for infusion. Then this would be fine to get this amount of resources easily. You get 3 daily bounties which is enough for ONE infusion from each location vendor/bounty giver. But then everyone else is taking your resources too from spawns. Honestly at this point. Masterwork cores are significantly easier to come across than everything else required for infusion.

          • Wow. I'm in the 8% "No" group? Cool! Having Cores really does make infusing a meaningful choice, just like Bungie says. If you're a Hand Cannon lover (like me, and I know that's not an 8% group), and not really a scout user, you arent going to infuse a piece of gear with all scout rifle perks. See, you just made a meaningful choice! Argue all you want people, but just be honest. The choice you have to make IS meaningful.

            • Cores should only be used to masterwork items, not basic infusions. And the drop rate for cores should be increased or at least applicable to certain events like strikes, High value targets, heroic public events, and lost sectors and not just spiders bounties.

            • Crazy part is Year 1 I had almost 40 weapons and 10 pieces of armor masterworked(almost 450 cores). Year 2 when I broke them down I got back about 40 cores; then they upped the price to 17 per gun(was 10)/8 per armor(was 5). The cost was already too high at 10 cores to masterwork which made it look like players had a surplus by not masterworking; then they raised the price and added it to infusion(mistake). The cost to masterwork wasnt/isn't worth it for increased handling.

To the people who dismiss this poll as irrelevant: tl/dr (because, your sort needs those): you're mostly wrong. The very large percentage of "yes" indicates that a majority of all players being in favor of removing 'cores from infusion is far more likely than a majority in favor of keeping things as is. Sample Size Some may pretend the sample size is too small (the "2300 pEoPLE oUT oF 14M iS NOt EnoUGH!" argument). It's not. About 2300 answers on a player base of 14.1 millions, with an active player base (playing once a week) that falls somewhere between 0.6 and 4 millions. That is enough to be significant. If this poll was repeated, 99 times out of 100 the "yes" option would obtain a result between 63% and 68%. The "no" would get between 7% and 10%. (These numbers show only margin of error due to sample size, not the error due to any bias induced by sample selection.) (The poll is still open and actual numbers will change a bit.) (You can input the poll numbers here to verify my claim: https://goodcalculators.com/margin-of-error-calculator/) Selection Bias "Destiny players who post/lurk on forums" may not be representative of "all Destiny players", and "Destiny players who post/lurk on forums and answer polls" may not even be representative of all "Destiny players who post/lurk on forums". That's the flaw of an open-access poll. There will be some bias in this one because the sample ("Destiny players who post/lurk on forums and answer polls") is not entirely representative of "all Destiny players". Possible biases here: The hardcore bias: players who are involved in online communities are more likely to be hardcore players. This bias should favor the "no" and "don't care" options. The fanboy bias: this forum is full of them. If you're a fanboy, you're more likely on the official forum than on reddit. This bias should favor the "no" option. The hater bias: compared to reddit, this forum is minimally moderated. Haters are gonna hate, and the place to do it is here. This bias should favor the "yes" option. The sock-puppet bias: some will vote more than once. It's a good thing then that you have to reach the farm to vote. This bias should be small. This bias should favor the "yes" option, because it's the largest group and sock-puppets should be distributed about equally. The Anglo-Saxon bias: because, language. I have no idea which way that would skew the results however. It's probably a very small bias anyway, as the Anglo-Saxon world is very diverse and a lot of people outside of it speak English as a 2nd language. I can't guess what option this bias would favor. It's difficult to put numbers on those biases and they would be rightly contested. But how large does the total bias have to be to reverse the results and make "no" into a larger group than "yes"? Answer: very large. It's a 28% swing from "yes" to "no" just to make the two opinion groups equal. As there are biases pushing the numbers on both sides, such a large total bias is very unlikely. A Majority of "Noes"? On the other hand, people who claim that the "silent majority" is, in reality, in favor of keeping 'cores as part of infusion cost have absolutely nothing, not even a clue, to back this claim. If they even had a poll like this one, now that we know they will contest even one with such a decisive margin (57% between "yes" and "no"), The "noes" would have to beat "yes" by, what? 80%? 90%? Yeah... that's not happening. Conclusion Denying that a majority of players want 'cores removed from infusion costs is denying reality. Bias makes it impossible to affirm that "65% want 'cores removed from infusion", but that result and the large margin makes it very unlikely that the opposite is instead true.

                  • Anyone who wants cores to stay in the game just has a hard on for saying F you to casuals. There’s nothing genuinely enjoyable about cores in infusion, but there is a lot of annoyance.

                    • it should just be removed from infusion we are forced to wear gear that looks hideous with perks that do not work well with weapons we like to use its like your mom picking out your outfit for school when you where young and she picks a bright yellow shirt with pink pants red socks and green sneakers with a mets hat like cmon lol you know that does not go well together

                    • update: a few hours after my first post (it's 1 pm EST on 4/9/19)-- 1540 pro-removal votes 400 "more sources" 215 don't care 200 are fine with cores as they are so almost 2000 of around 2400 want a change, and over 60% (1500/2400) would like removal.

                      • Simple. They are masterwork cores that were just renamed. They need to go back to master-working weapons and armor only, their intended purpose.
