It lasts for waaaay to long + most hunters are running it in pvp
Is there any plan for a fix anytime soon?

Edited by sister-hawk: 3/17/2019 6:24:44 PMI don’t even care about spectral blades cause i’m a golden gun girl all the way, but why is the argument for nerfing a hunter super always “it’s what every hunter uses?”
-
22 RepliesBecause hunters want their crutch. What’s hilarious is there is no penalty for just spamming the trigger either. It’s the definition he definition of Easymode! Weak sauce!
-
Community is mostly hunters Why would they?

Heehee, a hunter kept invading in Gambit with Spectral Blades last night...and my Warlock ass just stayed floating in the air the whole time until he left. Couldn't catch me! I find it kind of irritating that my team and I team-shoot a Spectral with Malfeasances POINT BLANK and it does NO DAMAGE to them. Balanced eh? Wasn't that the complaint with Nova Warp, that it was too tanky? That got nerfed into the ground though. Either way, when I realized that I could just easily avoid them after hearing the super being cast, it became pretty entertaining. Wait for their super to drain and then easily pick them off.

1 ReplyIndeed. Its the tankiest super in the game, and it also have stealth. That is not logic to be more resistant when you are invisible in a video game. It should be the opposite, to counter the fact that you are invisible you should be in fact more weak. And also spamming the light attack makes you way too fast. There is only 2 counter play against this super : Suppressive nades A few other supers (not blade barrage since the spectral blades just have to spam the light attack and jump to avoid the aoe of blade barrage) Its the only super in the game givinf you this sensation of "i cant do anything against it so its better to run away if i can"

I think missing swings should punish the duration a bit more. Start there and see where it leads. Too many users just swing and pray they hit something. More cringy than annoying.

It lasts for waaaay to long
Funny you mention it... actually played a pvp game yesterday, on Retribution, where I got killed by this super, spawned on one of the outside "platforms" and got killed again, by the same Hunter still in his super. I just laughed. Thats how bad it was.
-
How about we just buff arcstaff to be able to block in every Souper and give me something like infinite guard so blocking doesn't use super energy on way of the current and a can run my staff through an enemy without sliding and keep current melee ability
-
Its so -blam!-ing broken, every swing should drain more super than it does because those -blam!-ers just swing and swing and swing and swing. Even counter supers cant stop them because they swing so -blam!-ing fast and it doesnt drain their super enough.

Edited by Tk: 3/17/2019 3:17:50 PMFunny how bungie buffed spectral blades closer to nova warp level and then proceeded to practically delete nova warp from pvp and pve
-
Blame the PvE/PvP link. If the world were “fair” to PvP players, everyone in the crucible would have the exact same weapons and limited abilities. Instead, Bungie decided to run this psychotic social experiment and set players up to be triggered and enraged by unbalanced classes, weapons and supers. Have fun being lab rats.
-
It did get a buff, then a retouch and nerf, it is inline with other supers from other classes however I will agree that it is played more than the other subclasses probably because the other subs are undeniably not as useful in pvp and that's not a fault of spec blades. If spec blades is still two "strong" or overused then perhaps it's the other supers that need a bit of love
-
Because there really is no use in complaining about it. They will just replace it with something else that takes all of the skill out of the game. If they have a super that lasts that long and you can put enough mods on it to get it three times a match then its obvious that PvP is not about trying to figure out where everyone stands according to skill. Lets say you go into Quickplay with 3 of your friends. 3 are Hunters with Spectral Blades and one is a Titan with Sentinel Shield and everyone has super mods on all their armor. That means there's going to be between 6-9 spectrals and 2-3 Titan supers during that match, not to mention whatever the other two teammates have. Its just dumb. The whole Crucible is nothing but a Mayhem playlist. Spectral Blades does get the title of most absurd, worst thought out, super in Destiny history though. Its the only one that I know of where you can kill someone and then spawn kill that same person TWICE afterwords.

Edited by CookieNiki: 3/17/2019 3:40:42 PM
Why no one is talking about spectral blades super
Because no one want more nerfs.
-
Shut up now. You bitch boys are the exact reason shit gets nerfed.
-
It’s mob rule, they lose come to the forums and 😢...another guy reads it who never had an original thought and so the witch hunt begins. Nerf this, nerf that, but what I use takes skill cause I use it and I’m better than you are. You just win all the time because whatever reason. They should have never negotiated with terrorist. It only leads to worse acts of one upsmenship and more outrageous demands. Run, jump, counter with your super...as long as you don’t just stand there it’s not that hard to kill.
-
I prefer the skill of a flaming pistol.
-
Hunter main hear and the problem isn't the super itself persay it's more the exotic armour that goes with it and the state of the majority of players connections. Bad players with bad connection are taking advantage of the increased invun+latency making the super seem like a bigger problem than it is.
-
6 RepliesI find it quite ridiculous when I’m basically at the peak of a titan jump and a spectral blades hunter swipes along the ground and somehow I die. This game has problems.
-
Edited by Wolf LXXIX: 3/17/2019 2:19:45 PMBlade skating, homing ability and duration all need to be sorted. Blade skating (aka trigger spam to travel faster) needs to punish the player by taking a large chunk of the super energy every time you miss. Homing ability needs to be removed or toned down so it actually requires the user to aim and slash instead of just insta-killing everyone in the room by spamming the trigger. As for duration, it needs to be reduced so you can't kill someone and have enough time to travel across the map and spawn kill the same person. Even the warlock supers weren't this ridiculous.
-
3 RepliesHahaha all the Hunters defending this would be the same hacks who wanted a nerf on OEM.
-
It’s not even the duration. It’s the fact that they can spam the melee button with no punishment, and the damage resistance
-
5 RepliesIt’s not the super you can easily teamshoot it, the problem is super mods they need removing Only scrub will defend mod haha 😂
-
I’m down for a spec nerf AS LONG AS ARCSTRIDER IS MADE USABLE AGAIN
-
You can run around the map a couple of times
-
2 RepliesTitans roaming fist lasts just as long.
