1 ReplyThey (bungie) just never learn, and they are doing this while new games are out ( time to play one). My opinion is because season of the Drifter is all about gambit, so its mostly a PVP change once again. Not so sure Activision was the entire root of all evil. Bungie is just dumb in my opinion.

No nerfs were necessary. It's -blam!-ing PvE. It's bad enough that they added more elitist Gambit cancer with this update.

14 RepliesAnd I was just falling in love with striker. Oh well then. Also the ammo nerf is ridiculous, nobody was crying for Sleeper to be nerfed outside of Gambit but look here. Nobody was crying for machine guns to be nerfed BUT OH LOOK. Now the Whisper nerf makes sense but its still pretty dumb.

2 Repliespiss off with your bitching. The meta needed to change, code of the juggernaught neede the nerf. Being able to run around the whisper encounter with your ulti NEVER running out is overkill. PVP, this ability still rocks even with the nerf. They bring other weapons back into light (cold heart, rocket launchers) which are really fun to use weapons but did medicore damage. Now we can use them are you complain ? Are you -blam!- ?

Lots if people were using weapons like Machine Guns and Shotguns in PvP and Sleeper and Whisper in PvE. They nerf popular weapons to encourage trying NEW ones, and switch up the playstyle. Why do you think they’re popular in the first place? BECAUSE THEY’RE BETTER THAN THE OTHER OPTIONS. I know that I don’t want to be shotgunned or using shotguns too much anymore. But I was nearly forced to because that was the meta. How good shotguns worked restricted players to a playstyle they might not want to play but have to in order to win. It’s all about switching up the weapons a bit so this game doesn’t get shotgun-machinegun stale. They’re not exactly nerfing these, so much as buffing everything else. Also it’s so that the game is working as they intended for it to, instead of people relying on Cluster Bombs to cheese riven. For a final boss, it’s very stupid that you should be able to one-phase her with a couple rockets. Sure, it was helpful for us, but we really weren’t playing the game as intended and getting that boss fight the way she was to be defeated. I honestly think all of these changes were great for this game and welcome to see them come. Edit- spelling “nerfing” as “needed”. Sometimes I hate mobile autocorrect. Also added some more.

2 RepliesI am fine with the nerfs but where is the nerf to hand cannons to balance them to the same damage rate as other items? Why do items nobody asked for and ignore the one glaring problem with the game currently. If you do not like hand cannons the game currently is getting to point of being unplayable in pvp as it's nonstop 3 shots in 1.5 seconds. If you're going to do something like this at least fix the weakest part of the game at the same time!

8 RepliesThose who use whisper as a boss gun won’t really feel anything. Those who use it as a flexy sniper should consider alternatives. There are far better ones. Machine guns were nerfed for balance, just like how rocket launchers were buffed for balance, whereas cluster was nerfed for balance. Of course no one would ask for something to be deprived from them when it benefits [b]everyone[/b]. The problem is that then people don’t consider alternative weapons because they’re too effective. Sure it is the players choice on what they want to use, however the small circle of weapons which are OP limit what other combos could be used.
