Which boss fights in vidya were the most disappointing to you? Either by being too easy, a gimmick, etc.
My vote would be Yhorm and Ancient Wyvern (Both are gimmick fights) from Dark Souls 3 and Alduin from Skyrim. Alduin was meant to be this super powerful dragon, but he's just the same as a regular dragon during the final encounter. Even without the Storm Ruler Yhorm is a piece of cake.
So what was disappointing to you?
P.S. Where did the Gaming Forum go?

That secret final boss bloodbourne. Only reason I didn’t one try it was the previous dude (forgot his name) was the hardest boss in the game

The final fight with Xol, I was so hyped to fight a worm god, then warmind came out and it was highly disapointing. Though I don't think theyre done yet with him, using the WotW, he could come back stronger than ever

I'm going with most of the boss fights in D2. Almost every single one has a huge boss that deals a ton of damage and you can't get close due to their AOE knock-back attack. The fights themselves are all the same, damage as much as you can, adds spawn, damage as much as you can, adds spawn and so on. This isn't exactly on point, but it's close, I'd love to see a game where increasing the difficulty doesn't just up the enemy's numbers, damage and health while cutting your damage and health by a large number. A game where increasing the difficulty changes how the AI behaves, increases their strategy and adds interesting and difficult mechanics. I've never seen a game that does this so I don't know exactly how this would work, but I'd love to see it.

Every one in the Destiny 2-Warmind stories. Ghaul was the lamest villain I’ve ever seen.

Halo 4, the Didact. I despise quick time button mashers. Halo was supposed to always be a shooter. How do we dispose of the main bad guy? Sequence or rapid button mashing....

Rat Vanguard from DS2, the spider boss fight from bloodborne, the spider bossfight from DS2, Nito from DS1, the bed of chaos from DS1, Deacons of the Deep from DS3, The boss fight from halo 4, Calus...

Any Ratchet and Clank boss after you get the RYNO. But Tiny from Crash Warped was WAY too easy

Really, the fourth campaign of Spacelords was a disappointment as a whole, but the fourth level of every campaign is the most official boss fight of the campaign, so I’ll rail on that. The fourth campaign is known as Council Apocalypse, which pits the Raiders (of the Broken Planet) against the Fifth Council faction. The leader of this faction is a biomechanical beast also known as the Fifth Council. The Fifth Council circles an arena that the raiders fight upon. It is defeated “simply” by shooting it, with a few weakpoint growths for extra damage. It seems like it would be disappointingly easy until you burn up the health bars for the first time. While every boss has way to become vulnerable (or extra vulnerable) by overloading a thing with aleph, the Fifth Council locks their overloadable device behind a swarm of enemies you need to defeat while boss hides away to watch you kill them. The enemy variety increases as time goes on. By the end of the boss fight you’re dealing with the following: -The Fifth council with most of it’s armor blown off -Beholders (flying drones that instantly kill anyone in the game’s LOS for too long) -Minelayers -Grunts and Elites -some other devices that I barely remember. I imagine it’s supposed to feel like a hectic bare of teeth battle against enemies at every angle while you try and land some parting shots against the mastermind of them all, but really it’s more like having a depressive episode during a rave while some giant enemy crab tries to kill you. Maybe it was just me but it just desensitizing and a bit annoying. I wish I could stop talking about this game.

I remember the final boss fight in Gears 2 being really easy. Too easy even. You'd think there would be a fairly big challenge in bringing down a lambint(?) brumack to destroy the last city in order to flood out the hollow. Like the whole fight is this big climax to the story of the game and you can beat it blindfolded. 😕

Dead Island. I had a perk that lets you knock over any zomboi and another perk that lets you stomp their head when they're knocked over so the climactic final battle only lasted like a few seconds because it's like boop you fell down boop your head is dead game's over i won
there's also mass effect 3 where everyone dies at the end

and Super Star Wars where in order to shoot the deaf star's anus you use a button you've never once used throughout the entire game so it's like what

there's also density where you literally have no idea what's going on or where you are

and Call of Duty Ghosts because they just pretend that cliffhanger ending never happened
The final boss in Dark Souls 2. I had more trouble with the tutorial boss in Dark Souls 3.

Wolnir (I’m pretty sure that’s his name) They whole concept of the fight just feels to easy and gimmicky

1 ReplyAt least Yhorm had some interesting lore and a cool quest involving Seigward. The Ancient Wyvern was just a boss fight for the sake of a boss fight and it isn't even really a boss fight at all. The worst boss fight that comes to mind for me is probably 343 Guilty Spark from Halo 3.
