Really feel like they still need a better damage buff and this includes all the arctypes. A 5% to 7.5% damage increase to all arctypes would make them ALOT better imo.

148 RepliesWhich auto rifles are you currently using, and in what game modes? Keep that feedback coming.

I was so excited to see auto rifles buff but then it only went from 0.04% to 0.05% so I’m not exactly excited😪
-
Honestly I've found them to be significantly more reliable in a few instances that they suffered in prior. I'm not opposed to another sweet business buff but I'm currently enjoying it

7 RepliesThe AR buffs seem pretty pathetic with only 720s having a ttk reduction. The rest of the buffs just make them slightly more forgiving. Given the large number of ARs which are largely useless, I hope Bungie is simply making small changes for testing purposes to help future tuning. I'd be unhappy if this is the final state of ARs. They are frankly pathetic when they should be a domininant archetype at mid ranges.
-
1 ReplyThey increased damage by a small factor.just enough so that the 720 rpm autorifles are now viable.. The buff was never intended for the 390, 450, 600 archetype

Auto rifles need a huge range drop off. They Are Simple Guns Which Work Just fine. They do consistent damage as the user is allowed to dial in the percision #'s. Any better and there will be no need to use anything else. Just make two guns bungie. An auto and a shotty. You now have all encounter types covered. What a time saver! Now on to bigger and better things... like bringing back more D1 things. (Like nova bomb.)

6 RepliesScout buff just as ineffective.

13 RepliesAuto rifles, SMGs and sidearms are pointless. There's no real situation, range or niche they serve. SMGs are higher rpm, shorter range auto rifles that get dominated by shotguns up close and lose to auto rifles and HCs further out. Auto rifles tend to operate in the same range as HCs, but require more time on target and can't effectively shoot in between movement in and out of cover. Longer range autos just get dominated by pulse rifles and if you're lucky with bullet spread they'll compete with scout rifles. Sidearms are just straight up bad. Faster firing, shorter range hand cannons. The problem with buffing up these archetypes though is they're easier to use, so if they were just as strong as other weapons within their intended effective range, there'd be no real reward for the higher risk of using more difficult weapons.

1 ReplyThey should buff them for pve yea but for pvp I would say just do something about the crazy recoil n muzzle flash a lot of them have. Don't need more damage buffs in pvp , don't want another Uriel's gift situation like it was in year 1
-
1 Replyneed more damage to the body, not much, but they definitely need more.
-
Haven’t had opportunity to dive in deep with the 600s and 720s yet, but Suros and Age Old Bond felt quite good to me. Damage numbers are good, but I think they could look at reducing the amount of unpredictable and uncontrollable side to side recoil on some autos. Think that would make a big difference

A lot*

It is enough. Autos already melted fast
-
I was using The Ringing Nail last night, curated perks (HCR + Dragonfly + Rampage) -- worked OK, but still needs more love to compete with other weapons out there.
-
Yeah, they really need .04% more damage.

23 RepliesIt’s Destiny 1 all over again. First ARs are good, then they get nerfed to the ground. How long until they become usable again? pathetic.
-
No because then PvP will get them nerfed. Bungie logic. Give 5% buff.. PvPers say to strong now.. Give 10% Nerf.
-
I really like breakneck, I would like it more if it was buffed
-
4 RepliesOne word ... SUROS It flat out melts in PvP now.
-
Suros regime with spinning up destroys everything. Maybe your not using the right ones?
-
8 RepliesI feel the same about scouts. Tried the trusty nameless midnight again last night, and it still didn't feel right.
-
None of the buffs were enough, actually I feel like the scouts got clipped by another 5%...they are just as horrible as they were on Monday. All in all this big "Update" has been a massive fkn letdown.

I like the feel of the 720's now a lot more than I did, and they are my favorite class of AR. Other than that, I don't feel a lot of difference in PvP. In PvE, the 720's perform markedly better than they used to, killing 3-4 trash mobs in a clip easily. Everything else simply feels a slight bit stronger, saving you a couple of rounds per target. PvP, I don't want them to get much stronger, because the low skill barrier to entry and ease of use would make higher damage number possibly return us to the R2 Uriels meta...gross. maybe add a point to each damage category and leave it alone. PvE, I really feel like they could all use another flat 10%. Just can't convince me to use one most of the time.
