Ok, then make it so I can Solo Raids.
This is basically what you are saying.

He is saying that he thinks it's unfair there are PvP steps in the Last Word quest line. He thinks it is unfair that because he isn't very good at PvP he will either be unable to complete them, or have to put what he deems an unreasonable amount of time into an activity he doesn't enjoy to complete them. I hate Raids. Not so much because of the content, but because I have to party up with people, and wait wait wait wait. Wait for them to log in, wait for them to go to tower, wait for them to let the dog out, wait for them to take a smoke, go to the bathroom... You get it. So I don't do Raids. I would do them all the time if I could solo them, just like he would do TLW quest if they changed it so he didn't lose progress. I still want 1K Voices. I still want Triumphs, but I don't do the Raids, so I won't get them. Difference is, I am not complaining about it.

Yeah but not doing the raid isn't about the raid being impossibly hard for you, it's about you just being impatient. You can go on lfg and get a party to play a raid in like 10 minutes. Then your problem is solved. He can't just go to a website and download some extra skill and install better matchmaking.

Yeah but if he just plays and starts working harder at being smart with his lives he will improve. I couldn't do the Thorn quest in D1 for a long time. Doing that quest literally taught me to be a better crucible player. This quest is a joke compared to that one. He could be a better Crucible player. If you can defeat a Raid you ABSOLUTELY have the skill necessary to do this quest. He just doesn't WANT to because he doesn't LIKE Crucible due to his bad experiences in the past, just like me with the Raids.

Crucible is not comparable to the raid in any way. The same person who solo'd the Kalli encounter is not also a PvP god. They are completely different activities. You need to understand that the way you get better at pve is by playing a specific activity that doesn't change until you overcome it. Crucible is different. Imagine trying to get good at the raid, but the boss's light level keeps switching from 500-750 every time you play. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's impossible. Playing against actual people is the same. Their skill isn't going to be a set amount. There isn't a foolproof strategy you can use every time. And for a low skill player, they're consistently going to stomp you. Doesn't sound fun. And when this game becomes more frustrating than fun, it becomes pointless. How about you go eat a turd for Thorn? You'll hate it but afterwards you'll feel so accomplished.
